Consumer Reports’ experts explain what to consider before your next purchase. - Хобби
I have a 30 year old 30 pint Emerson Quiet Kool dehumidifier, still works perfectly! New ones don't last over 5 years typically, look into this when buying one..
These portable dehumidifiers are design for placing onto the ground but I am seeing that they are testing them by placing them onto the table. I am not sure if the company did the same thing or not but so far I've test both the 30 pints Dehumidifiers, the Haier HE30ER-L & Frigidaire FFAD3033R1 and both of their built-in humidstat are always show lower percent than the actual room humidity by 5 to 15% so setting them to automatic is often result in in-correct humidity controls. Tested room is 130 Square feet.
BTW, if you gonna buy one, do buy the one with air sucking in from the front such as the Haier HE30ER because it is more convenience & effective since you could place its back nearer to the wall in a room that doesn't have lots of free space.
Thanks for this great review! Was very helpful.
Box store dehumidifiers typically fail in 1-2 yrs due to a wide variety of manufacturing defects, especially on the tube forming in the evaporator and condenser coil. DO YOU ASSESS LIFE EXPECTANCY?
Enjoyed the vid, thank you
Trustworthy. Thanks. - nyc, 7/26/2020
Excellent video - cheers
Bought LG Dehumidifier last year in April doesn't work after less than a year. My old one is over 30 years old still works just noisy. I'm very disappointed.
Need to find an older model...
L G appliances are no good
Can I buy your older model?
Very informative video
I'm thinking about buying the 'Woods AD20' dehumidifier for my 73 m2 home, it also purifies the air (Mold, pollen etc) Any thoughts on that?
It can handle 20 litre water per 24 hours (4 litre tank) and a max area of 80m2-100m2
Is it okay to use it around people who have dry skin?
Do you have dealer in Pakistan
❤️!
The Cheap Chinese dehumidifiers are a safety and fire hazard.
best $$ ever spent...800 sq ft basement Zero mold issues ...12 years now
and running...auto pump and dump...no lifting heavy catch...bought a
timer for mine...continous run on @ 8am off 4pm
set @ 50% humidity....what can I say....It's all good
Which product did you buy?
How much heat does it generate?
Why would you say this without mentioning the brand and model? Smh.
mi EC KEEP COMING ON?
i never used 1 of these before. So do you have to put water in it or just plug it up to get cooler air ?
It removes the water from the air in ur room
Do you test for longevity? My last humidifier that I paid $200 for only lasted 2 years, and it wasn't even continuous use. Do they make any models made to last these days?
I've noticed most dehumidifiers have bad reviews on the net and usually after 12 months they don't collect water anymore. I bought a Whirlpool, a Danby and 2 Garrison (one was replaced under warranty) and they all failed after 12-15 months.
Buy one and get a extended warranty. Like at menards or Sears.
They are all made by the same 2? Chinese companies and seldom last last two years. This is one of the few things worth a $30-$40 extended warranty. In the old days, the refrigerant could be refilled, which is often the problem. No more, planned obsolescence, and/or a Chinese scheme to bring down the USA.
I have a 50 pint frigidaire .Eng1 on It. it has lasted since 2006 . Low Pressure 200 High Pressure 400 Model K951113955
My has the issue last about your
My ceiling was leaking in my apartment. They fixed it but now there is a musty smell. Will a dehumidifier get ride of that? Also it’s getting cold out now. Do I even need one at all in the late fall?
Just researching this myself so no expert, but if your still looking to buy or not, do your home work. From my understanding most of these don't work well in cold temperatures. I don't know your situation, but you did mention cold so this might be relevant.
Does a dehumidifier blow warm air because of the warm coil
Yes, some models can affect the entire room's temp.
i bought a delonghi 25L one and yeah it blows hot and im pissed off about it
Mickey Majkic why?
She says we shouldnt drink the water that comes out,why?...can it be run through a carbon filter & then consumed?...or is there chemicals or impurities I'm not aware of?...
A small rodent could be decomposing inside the machine. The liquids from the decomposing corpse could contaminate the water. Mold and mildew spores can contaminate the reservoir. The coils and condenser may also be contaminated by viruses or bacteria. There is no way to verify how the water was stored or handled.
1:37 Wait, dehumidifiers remove milk?!? Here I was thinking the small ones would remove 3-5 gallons of *water*...

Primo
Of course they don't test for longevity, the only thing consumers care about. We already know they work when they are new, duh.
I am amazed that Consumer Reports decided to devote such a lengthy video (for them) to such a boring product.
Huh?
This is not what I wanted to see. I wanted to see the actual reviews. Thumbs down.
Worthless, for the love of Christ, what is the power usage???
What's a fucking pint? Speak in human measurements, how many liters is it?
