Well. Your RUclips worked. I’m sadly shopping for a new AC and your informative videos drew me in! Also, it does absolutely get over 150% humidity here in Houston!
Good video. I have a crawl space and keep the humidity at 50% RH. This allows me to keep a higher temp in the house. The crawl space humidity can be higher as the temp decreases in winter and mold will not form. Did not hear you mention crawl spaces.
I'm looking at installing an Aprilaire 80 in a laundromat in Florida. We keep the AC set at 77 and it struggles to keep up. It's in a heat and humidity battle with 20 dryers and it stays damp and sticky in there. I'm not connecting it to the AC, I'm going to run it on it's own hanging from a ceiling.
I can concur that humidity levels in my house after Beryl may have been 150% without power lol, no really it was about 80 though the day after. Great video.
In effect, a dehumidifier is a partially disabled air conditioner. Saves you some money up front and it doesn't require much in terms of installation, but it costs just as much to run long term as an AC, but only does half the job.
For a home up North with winters and has a temp of 70*F when cooling, but built on a marshland/wetland so the humidity in the home is 60-70% including winter (verified with numerous hygrometers and psychrometers) how would you size a whole home dehumidifier?
What size April air for a 3000 sq ft home in Houston do you recommend? Tired of feeling wet at night and a new variable ac is just to dam expensive. I may just add a 28 seer 1 ton mini split and have the constantly working to take the load off my 5 ton unit.
1st method for install is terrible and is recirculating dehumidified air. 1st and second methods require the hvac fan to be “on” when dehumidifying. 3rd method is the correct installation method. It should be installed with backdraft damper and ran any time dehum is needed with a controller mounted in the house. I feel like you didn’t read the manual.
Is it possible that you didn't read or understand the manual. Some People like me have a dehumidifier In their basement because it is not hooked to their central system. This whole video sounds like up sell to me. A properly sized air conditioner will do the job for your house.
A properly sized air conditioner will deumidify just fine. dehumidifiers are expensive to operate,You effectively have a second air condition. And you have all the extra service calls that go along with it.
Either by my lack of knowledge about this topic or by your adequate explanation, i don't have any leftover questions. Very helpful, thank you!

I'm on the same boat. Have you found success with getting a new AC?
@@berenicehernandez1418 The $8k rebate on a heat pump is too much to pass up so I’m limping along with window units.
Thanks so much for the information. As someone in region C, I desperately needed it, and your explanation was quite clear.
Great video. Thank you very much. (ps: Attic is misspelled).

Thank you for the vid. I live in DC but from Cali originally. I definitely need a dehumidifier hahahaha!
I am undecided if my home needs a dehumidifier or if high humidity is caused by air leaks around ceiling fixtures and fireplace cover.
seal leaks first, then you can decide whether you need it or not.

Man up
Do you all install ERV’s as well in Houston?
Would something like this work on a heating only furnace system?
I have forced air heating but no ac but humidity is a huge issue!
A furnace will do the dehumidification for you, Most people who have a furnace get A Humidifier. They need to add moisture not subtracted it.

Hello, do you train new employees or know a good HVAC school in DFW?

Hello, friend, you only need to provide the temperature and humidity of your room, and I can recommend a suitable dehumidifier to you.😀
@ErikaHuang-bq8oy i have the same question 76 degrees 45-50 percent humidity. I'm in Houston
@@tylermckinney3037 if you have 3000 sq ft like me you need 2 units. Better off buying a variable speed ac since these units use a lot of wattage.

All of those methods are in the manual. There is a good better and best. Keyboard warrior

I think those greater than less than symbols need to be flipped around.

Even in Florida?
Your mouth noises make me uncomfortable
You being uncomfortable with mouth noises makes me laugh 😂
This is hilarious!
