After watching this again... Because Rescues cause extra exertion, even Safety guys can fail.
-Maybe all competitions will now have an electric winch system installed off to the side of the line. Then, a deep Safety diver only needs to clip a connection to the freediver to pull them both up. Would take some testing to work out a system...
New technology.

He had shallow water blackout while rescuing Alessia Zecchini in the arch of blue hole of dahab, Egypt, July 2017.
He died as a hero.
