Grilled Cheese with Soft Scrambled Eggs Sandwich Recipe

- Craving delicious scrambled egg Sandwich? Try this easy grilled cheese with soft scrambled eggs sandwich recipe with step by step instructions.
Ingredients
2 slices sandwich bread
3 teaspoons butter
1 teaspoon milk
2 tablespoons grated mozzarella cheese
1 slice American cheese
2 eggs
A little salt to taste
A little ground white pepper to taste
Instructions
1.Crack the eggs into a bowl, add milk, season with ground pepper and salt. Using a fork to beat ingredients together.
2.Melt 1 teaspoon of butter in a pan on low heat.
3.Once the pan is hot and the butter has melted pour in the egg mixture. Stir until set to cook, for about 1 minute.
4.Transfer scrambled eggs into a bowl. Set aside.
5.Melt 1 teaspoon of butter in a pan on medium heat.
6.Place in 1 slice of bread. Using a spatula to move the bread around so that the butter evenly coats it.
7.Place 1/2 slice of American cheese, 1 tablespoon of mozzarella cheese, scrambled eggs, 1 tablespoon mozzarella cheese and 1/2 slice of American cheese on the bread. Top with the remaining 1 slice of bread butter side down.
8.Cover the pan with a lid and grill the sandwich on low heat for about 3 minutes.
9.After 3 minutes, open the pan lid and turn the sandwich over.
10.Cover the pan again with the lid and cook the sandwich for another 3 minutes.
11.Cut the sandwich into triangles and Enjoy!

Looks very good! I used to own a grilled cheese foodtruck and I never thought of a scrambled eggs sandwich.
Tip: A mix of butter and mayo for the outside crust turns the sandwich really crunchy. You can even add a little parmesan or pecorino to the mix for even more crunch and flavour.

If you're using mozzarella for the meltiness, may I suggest Havarti? Excellent creamy meltiness, but with more flavor.

Great idea. I'd also avoid using processed cheese, and go with real American cheese. Also colby, cheddar, whatever. Cheese, cheese, any kind of cheese , am i right? Ok, maybe not feta or blue.

This is a great idea - you could add most anything. One change tho - I use mayo on the outside of the bread instead of butter. It makes a much crispier & golden brown toast. Try it!

Yeah I dont get it either. When i make a Breakfast sandwich for my baby sis i dont do that i put it on the outside. I thought this was just weird. I think since she put so much cheese on this anyways she should have put cheese on both of the bread so it can stick.

Just made this today. It had so much cheesy, gooey goodness. I thought I would have been able to taste the white pepper a bit more, but I tasted mostly cheese. I'll add more next time. Covering the pan ensures that the ingredients will mesh together and is totally worth taking the time to do.
If you use mayo, the bread will get really crispy but won't burn as fast as butter

@@kratos_xxv Food technologists and agencies would disagree. I like my eggs coked that soft, but they are not fully cooked (at that stage in the vid), so I'm not going to mix it with raw. Salmonella recalls on eggs are pretty common, so this sort of practice is not good. Salmonella is endemic in eggs, like Listeria is in raw chicken. That's why we cook them.

Harrison Craig eggs continue to cook so IF they did not wash the bowl the hot eggs would still cook the raw egg left in the bowl. That’s why if I turn the heat completely off several minutes before I remove my eggs from the pan and I do not like hard cooked eggs!

Looks good. I make this for breakfast sometime for the family. However, I put butter on the outside, I have 2 pans 1 for eggs & 1 for toast. I toast both pieces of bread, put cheese 1 slice of cheese, while that last piece is toasting, I scramble eggs lightly, turn toast off, put egg on toast, and put immediately on plate. Do not want to recook eggs by putting back in pan on toast, that only dry the eggs and egg gets hard. But thanks for the nice video. 😁

It's nicer if you turn the top slice of buttered bread butter side up, then flip it. That makes it brown and crispy. There's also no need to put a cover on it once it's flipped. That only makes the bread less crispy and the cheese should melt just fine with the hot eggs and heat rising through the bread.
I like how you avoided showing the other side of the sandwich because you forgot to butter the outside and it probably looks burnt 😂

This simple sandwich was ruined in multiple ways. You put the cooked egg back in the raw egg bowl, you put the buttered side of the bread on the inside, and then you covered the sandwich with a lid which will steam it making it soggy defeating the whole purpose of toasting it. Think people.
BLKCZUUR Yes to the first two, however, I put the lid on the pan and the bread stays nice and crispy while the cheese melts. Trust! I make grilled cheese for my brother all the time and the bread is always crispy.

Great idea, my mum used to fry an egg in bread in bacon fat like that. She would fry the bread round from the middle and you could dip it in the yolk. She was English. This looks like a great variation. I'd go easier on the egg but like you say, that is personal preference. The timing on the cheese side seems to be important.

shouldn't be an issue, any small amount of raw egg left in the bowl that transfers to the egg will end up cooking when they cover for 3 minutes per side on low heat.
