    Kinda funny to go through the effort for making the refried beans and making the queso, then using jarred salsa 🤷

    I use bacon fat instead to cooked the refried beans, while not vegetarian, it gives the beans a nice smokiness.

    Thanks for making a cheese sauce with american cheese! Some cooks act like it's trash food that shall not insult their kitchens. I like roux-based cheese sauces fine, but it's not the same. I do kind of wish we had more variety and better quality processed cheeses.

    I would use lard instead of butter as main fat in the refried beans. I think it fives a better flavor to to the beans.

    I like the idea of making my own beans. But I don't think I would build the layers in the skillet. If you don't finish the dip in one go, it would be a hassle to spoon everything out into another container.

    honestly you cant call it 7 layers and have only 2 layers. the whole point is to not look for a certain section of the food, but to stick a whole chip and grab every single flavor in one swoop.

    No offense to the chefs as people. But man these videos are going so down, are they even really cooking anymore? Have some faith in your viewers and step up your game BA. Know you’re trying to be modern now with the new crew but not an excuse to dumb it all down.

      I think it’s about engagement for them. They want to make things that look visually appealing and are also really accessible for average people. The more people actually make their recipes and tag them on socials or engage, the better their content does monetarily. Unfortunately the average person isn’t particularly advanced in the kitchen, and that is who they are catering to…which is probably not you by the sound of it.

      1. beans
      2. queso
      3. sour cream
      4. salsa
      5. avocado
      6. pickled jalapeños
      7. cilantro / scallion

    • @nickcutler3802
      @nickcutler3802 Год назад

      @@jackaguy I was with that up until the avocado. It really lloks like 5 layers being beans, queso, sour cream, salsa, and green...just call it green. Because you don't know where the avocado ends and the Jallys begin.

    • @jackaguy
      @jackaguy Год назад

      @@nickcutler3802 that's fair. If you look at other seven layer dip recipes on the internet though, many have a fairly generous numbering of layers. I wouldn't say counting them like this is unusual

    The amount of salt used in the beans!!!! It **IS** alarming... compared to health recommendations. You can find excuses about beans sucking it up, it's still insane.
