It might be narrow but not ‘tiny’ with a huge island, large fridge, double stove, and lots of prep space. Really love the dish, the garden and his use of home grown herbs
This is the BEST pro chef home kitchen I’ve seen on YT (and I’ve been scoring it over a few years now), amazing practical kitchen + edible garden + outdoor dining… truly lovely! A lifestyle (accessible to real people) over a magazine spread just for looks. This is the real deal. Could you please please ask Johnnie if he could walk us through his kitchen setup? I’d love to know where he puts his pots and pans, how/where he organizes his knives, spices, plates, etc. I’d really love that, thank you!!!
This was so wonderful and entertaining! As this is primarily a design account, I only wish we had heard a little bit more about his design choices for the kitchen remodel, which is beautiful and narrow but I wouldn’t describe as small for London ❤
Nice Kitchen, Garden ....and Food! What I liked about this was the fact that this was a professional chefs 'home kitchen' and it done the job with simplicity, without it being an 'ostentatious' over designed space.
I love all the design choices as someone who enjoys cooking: Stainless steel countertops against the wall paired with the slabs of engineered stone for the backsplash and the induction stove. This is the ideal set up for cooking and cleaning. The slab backsplash = no grout lines between tiles that are a pain to clean if things splatter. I assume it’s an engineered stone slab so that staining potential is also reduced. Stainless steel counter tops means nothing will stain/bleed in, the material can withstand high heat from setting down pots, pans, etc, and very easy to clean. Induction stoves when not in use are perfect “extended countertops”. If there wasn’t the marble island addition, these would be great choices for a small kitchen. I also love the warm tone additions from the cabinet hardware and wood to balance out how cold the kitchen would otherwise be. Beautiful and practical kitchen. Well done!
+1 on the stainless steel counter tops. My parents have them since the 80s and they still look brand new, never damaged, and no grout or mess whatsoever.
At a nice gentle soul. Love his way of living. Attention to making the very most of his surroundings and enjoying some of the simpler pleasures of life. Lucky chap also to have such a lovely living space
exactly, i was expecting a tiny cute kitchen to see how this chef can leverage it with his talent. But no, it is a huge kitchen in a luxury house with a big ass backyard ...
That looks absolutely delicious!! I never knew one could eat broccoli flowers. As a Belgian I am intrigued by his mayonnaise and fries! Thank you for the recipe...I am going to make this over the weekend 😊
Love this! Just so much inspiration (the garden is amazing!), information and interesting stuff in such an easy to watch video - now I want chicken and chips :)❤
What a most enjoyable video, lovely garden, beautiful kitchen, likeable host, and a wonderful recipe to try, thank you so much, greetings from Fremantle, Western Australia...
I love this video! I would love to know where you got those wonderful lights on either side of the stove! I would love to have them in my American Farmhouse kitchen..... Thank you for this .... Now, I am so hungry!
@natashabailey6091 - thanks so much for watching! The units are from DIY Kitchens, but the handles were purchased separately from Corston Architectural Detail
You could pressure cook the potatoes whole? Not in the water, in a ss bowl above the water - this would also stop the potatoes from absorbing water. Then chill them. Would save some time and better texture
Miam miam ....when can I come for lunch or Dinner?😊 or some cooking Lessons ? Like your Kirchen and your Garden! Much❤from South of France, actually in Brittany Much love
Hi from the Scottish Highlands. Love the fact you are a chef to trade.. Just a thought to run by regarding induction as a cooking medium.. I looked at this as a option and decided to go with a back up induction because of the "concerns of emf readings and the loud fan.. Have you put any thought into the concerns or would you make any changes.. Thank-you for a lovely video ..looking forward to seeing content in the future.. I trained in the Scottish Highlands myself... I have only come across your channel today.. From my perspective it would be lovely to see or here your thoughts on the following subjects from a trained chefs perspective.. Pressure canning/ water bath preservation/vacuumed sealing and the YOUR thoughts on home freeze dryers for home use.. Kindness your way.. Lochness Scottish Highlands..
I usually love watchinh the kitchen island but this one is bot my cup of tea. Space is limited so should have designed to do a L shape or alongated kitchen. 😅 For me, it looks like a fancy small japanese izakaya countertop restaurant.
also the recipe is just.. :S Handful of herbs, ideally from your garden -> yeah, thanks for reminding us we dont have a garden 1 squeeze of half a lemon -> what 1 drop of white-wine vinegar -> like literally one drop? you sure?
This man: big ass kitchen with a huge backyard. Calls it "tiny". Meanwhile, people living in the building behind his backyard: big ass brick wall right in front of their windows, so this man can have privacy...
The blank wall is crying out for a giant mirror, surrounded by pictures of his garden, pictures of plants, pictures of ingredients and pictures of hands of chefs he knows at work. Just my 2 cents 😅😅 There is nothing like picking food from your own garden i don't know it's magic.
I think the kitchen looks big because of the intention and strategy that went into planning its functionality not because it's actually not small. You'd be surprised how much design, placement, and colours can create the illusion of spaciousness.

I concur. I live in NYC and this is not small
Sorry but too narrow for me, it could be claustrophobic my day by day.
He calls that a "small" kitchen! 😄
i was thinking the same thing, that is a very nice sized kitchen.
@@MTMF.london Tbf tho he might be comparing to a restaurant kitchen haha
That kitchen is bigger than most kitchen I've seen.
depends on which place you live.
I wouldn’t say it’s large, it’s medium I guess. If you count in the workplace for chopping etc it’s not really that large
This "TINY" kitchen can held my whole family of 4 living in it comfortable.
Ok. Where is the tiny kitchen? :)
:D :D :D
Exactly that’s about 3 times bigger than my kitchen !
It's considered tiny for a pro
this episode was meant to be filmed in japan i guess? 😅
😂

Wow! The way he's so relaxed while doing this is therapeutic. I would love to see a home tour!
we have very different concepts of sizes.
This was so wonderful and entertaining! As this is primarily a design account, I only wish we had heard a little bit more about his design choices for the kitchen remodel, which is beautiful and narrow but I wouldn’t describe as small for London ❤
You need to have a cooking show! Thoroughly enjoyed it!

totally agree! I might use this combo myself in my future kitchen reno, super smart but still stylish and homey
+1 on the stainless steel counter tops. My parents have them since the 80s and they still look brand new, never damaged, and no grout or mess whatsoever.
There’s so much wholesomeness in home food cooked from scratch 💚
Awesome! This highlights not only a "Modern House" tiny kitchen, it's also about a talented chef preparing a mouthwatering meal!
This is not a tiny kitchen! This is a big kitchen for Europe!
For the UK as well (they're a British channel)
What a wonderful kitchen, totally agree about good appliances. Talented chef and the garden is stunning! One of the best modern house videos
This is a well designed, lovely home and the cooking part was also entertaining and beautiful to watch! Thanks!
Yeah! Love the kitchen ,and I respect that you call it tiny, so yummy to watch the food bring prepped, cooked. 😊
At a nice gentle soul. Love his way of living. Attention to making the very most of his surroundings and enjoying some of the simpler pleasures of life. Lucky chap also to have such a lovely living space
I've been watching your videos for two days ❤😂 and I just love seeing how people live.. Is like getting to know them in a really intimato way
think they've got a skylight on this kitchen coz that lighting was *chef's kiss*. would have really loved to see more of the space
It’s just beautiful! He makes it look so easy. Would like to see the rest of the house.
Love everything!
Beautiful garden, beautiful kitchen, yummy food prepared with love.
Loved watching and I think it's fab to use the garden produce for everyday cooking. Looks yummy.
I love this series!
Tiny!!? How is this tiny? The immense difference between the size of American and British homes never fails to amaze me
I mean, American homes are usually huge compared to British ones. Idk why they called this kitchen tiny though.
exactly, i was expecting a tiny cute kitchen to see how this chef can leverage it with his talent. But no, it is a huge kitchen in a luxury house with a big ass backyard ...
@@bingboyify Ikr? His kitchen is the size of my entire flat lol. Clearly they don't use the word "tiny" like the rest of us do.
@@bingboyify I guess it's all relative.
The Modern House YT channel is based in UK right?
Modern House you’re killing me….! killing ME! This is gorgeous 😊

What a beautifil kitchen (and garden)! Any chance you could share your source for the stainless nesting bowls?
@lanipaul1147 - thanks so much for watching! You can find good sets of these from EVOKK or Nobel, including versions with measurements on the inside.
Thank you for the recipe! I will try it at the next home party!
Can you please do a video showing us inside you kitchen cupboards & drawers?🤗😁
I wish we could have gotten more "inside" the kitchen. Drawers, knives, equipment, etc.
Super mellow video very calming.
This was a delightful video all round
I now cook my chips in exactly the same way, great results ever time, thank you
Love the cookery features!
What a most enjoyable video, lovely garden, beautiful kitchen, likeable host, and a wonderful recipe to try, thank you so much, greetings from Fremantle, Western Australia...
I'm so intrigued by the broccoli flowers. I might have to attempt to plant a few plants!
I love this video! I would love to know where you got those wonderful lights on either side of the stove! I would love to have them in my American Farmhouse kitchen..... Thank you for this .... Now, I am so hungry!
Lovely Kitchen!. Where did you get your kitchen units from?.
@natashabailey6091 - thanks so much for watching! The units are from DIY Kitchens, but the handles were purchased separately from Corston Architectural Detail
@@themodernhouse_filmsThankyou!!!🤗😁
I want to know where that set of bowls is from 😢
Thanks for the potato tips. I’m going to try cooking them that way.
this has me so inspired to start growing herbs on my balcony. Can't wait to make a herb mayo from what I grew
A well relaxed chef is great to see I cook my fries in the oven as well I love it I just need to work on new condiments.
Great to see the induction cooktop !! Chefs need to lead the way.
Simply Beautiful!
So calming❤
You should have a look at tiny Parisian kitchens ☺
This "tiny kitchen" has at least 4x the square footage of my kitchen and 20x the amount of prep surface.
It looked delicious!
I envy whoever is sharing this meal with the chef.
This is lovely ❤
what's the bgm for this video? It totally matches the vibe of his house
awesome Johnnie!
Do you have a link for the glassware? Thanks!
it's actually bigger than my kitchen......I wish mine led straight to the garden
Does somebody know where can I get the that is inside the kitchen please?
Anyone know the brand of the stove/oven?
Smeg

Id really love to know where the island was purchased… it is such a great size!
He says "Dalston kitchen" @0:17. Is Dalston a brand of kitchens cause when I google it doesn't come up as a result? Does anyone know?
6:32 did anyone catch where he got the linen tablecloth and little jugs from? Sounded like he said ‘Lucet’ or something like that. Thank you :)
@pamelaherou - thanks so much for watching! You can purchase the tableware from The Sette: thesette.com/
Hi TMH. I’m just wondering where can I get the light blue coloured glasses?
@rdelacruz66 - thanks so much for watching. We're sorry to say that these are vintage!
You can tell it's a pro chef's kitchen because that vent is serious stuff. it actually covers all the burners
Any clue to the actual or rough kitchen dimensions?
I just want to know where you got the cast iron skillet with the metal handle?
@sonjaskygatlin - thanks so much for watching! The pan can be purchased here: www.nisbets.co.uk/amt-gastroguss-tossing-pan-240mm/ch088
What oven brand is that?
SMEG induction
@@Banziafy Thank you 🙏🏾
That no kitchen is bigger than some London flats 😂
This is perfect
I'm in love.
You should get rid of the nonstick frying pan. Time to learn how to use carbon steel. They work on induction cooktops too
Which induction range is that?
Where can we find the recipes? 🙌🏻
I usually love watchinh the kitchen island but this one is bot my cup of tea. Space is limited so should have designed to do a L shape or alongated kitchen. 😅 For me, it looks like a fancy small japanese izakaya countertop restaurant.
This 'tiny' kitchen can comfortably accommodate 2-4 people working side by side. 😅. Jokes aside this is really nice design.
A kitchen that can fit a dining table and an island is in no way a tiny kitchen. I can’t even fit a breakfast bar or a dishwasher.
Ikr? Calling it "tiny" is obscene.
Tiny? Greetings from my 28 sqm studio apt!
Any clue on the brand/name of the frying pan ?
@jakobgreiner2473 - thanks so much for watching! The pan can be purchased here: www.nisbets.co.uk/amt-gastroguss-tossing-pan-240mm/ch088
Lovely.
I'll be right over!
I love my Singapore made Ryker fridge 👍🤣😂😅😛😋😝😜🤪
this stresses me out his kitchen size is so ideal it is not tiny at all
interesting to choose induction over gas...
Awesome
also the recipe is just.. :S
Handful of herbs, ideally from your garden -> yeah, thanks for reminding us we dont have a garden
1 squeeze of half a lemon -> what
1 drop of white-wine vinegar -> like literally one drop? you sure?
Oof...how bitter you are.
That's not a small kitchen, its 2-3x bigger than what 95% of humans have.
This man: big ass kitchen with a huge backyard. Calls it "tiny".
Meanwhile, people living in the building behind his backyard: big ass brick wall right in front of their windows, so this man can have privacy...
" I like to cook simple things"... let's start with debone and brine the chicken first... mega simple!!!!!😀
Nice!
This is bigger than a normal kitchen in europe
The blank wall is crying out for a giant mirror, surrounded by pictures of his garden, pictures of plants, pictures of ingredients and pictures of hands of chefs he knows at work. Just my 2 cents 😅😅 There is nothing like picking food from your own garden i don't know it's magic.
. . . That is a very above Average sized kitchen, at leaste in the eyes of a European

lol no, it's objectively big.
It's not tiny at all. It's even 2 times bigger than my kitchen. Maybe it's called tiny for pro chef, right? Love the kitchen and the garden anyway.
