This was so very helpful. Whenever I see you two sharing together, I can't wait to hear what you have to share. Thank y'all for being here for those of us who have felt so alone and for taking the difficult path of preserving truth and integrity in a really intense and difficult time to do so. May God bless you and your families, and please know that our family is praying for yours! ♥
I wonder if, for many, religion has become just a form with no life source - Something we are in charge of rather than an association with the living God who transforms us. Christianity is so much more than a theology to memorise and adhere to. Religion alone can even become kinda like the idols about which Isaiah (Is 44:9-20) pointed out - no one stops to think, “how can this thing that depends on me be my God?” Once religion is reduced to a form that depends on us, we can shape it to suit ourselves. I have a feeling that Kristin Kobes Du Mez got to the bottom of what really then determines the shape of religion ….. Power. As long as the men who run things have the power, they like the shape. Everything else seems to be optional. Any teachings of Jesus that challenge this will be passed over. Wherever this is the case, churches have become fertile ground for the manipulation of non-religious powers who have come along offering more power. When Jesus faced this temptation in the wilderness, he saw right through it, but Jesus was in continual communion with the Father. Jesus maintained a strong relationship with the living God.
Sorry, but in opinion, Russell Moore appears to have changed. He used to sound like a theological book. As a hispanic involved in the Southern Baptist church for over 20 years, I used to follow and cheer his position through hardship. But a lot of people turned on him for his political views. I left SBC too but Russell appears to have changed in his focus to lead people to Christ. I feel there was a change but will give him the benefit of the doubt as I don’t follow as much as I did when he was in the ERLC.
Russ Moore and David French, This should be GOOOOOOOD 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
This conversation has been a balm to my soul. Thank you

This was a wonderful event. I have great respect for both of these courageous men. Grace and peace
I have so much respect for these two men. They speak with honesty and integrity.

I find myself in agreement with some of their positions. However, is voting for a candidate who has objectively evil policies the answer?
Killing women in pregnancy because you're ignorant is objectively evil.
Evangelicals driven by fear? You mean like Russ's fear for his life when he served at the ERLC? What?
Maybe diversity helps force love, justice, and mercy!
Wolves in sheep clothing!
More like goats in wolves clothing.
