Elaine and Mark played a great part in helping me deal with the suicide of my son nearly 14 years ago. They also became my awesome friends and loved ones. I joined The Walk for DES, was a board member of the foundation and found it a great healing time for me and I'm sure others. The card with the warning signs that MHA gives out is a very important part of suicide awareness and prevention. I saw warning signs on the card that I never knew were warning signs but recognized in my son when he was a boy. I only wish I had known them earlier. I used to hand the cards out to everyone I knew. I now live in KY and passed on the remaining cards and also a booklet about QPR to someone here that is dealing with mental health issues in the job she has. I recommend that anyone dealing with suicide of a loved one or friend, please think about getting involved with others who have dealt with it, you will help others, and they will help you.
