Really great video that extensively covers FA, great work man. I would be remiss however if I didnt mention that I think you were a bit harsh on 4. 4 has a lot going for it, and I think considering it's the introductory title for 4thgen you have to look at it on it's own merits. The multiplayer is highly competitive and more tactical than instinctual compared to FA, the part balance is tighter, and the campaign has fantastic aesthetic and narrative weight. 4 is fun, and is worth playing, and I just hope no one decides to skip over it because of this review just because FA has more as a sequel. Because to really appreciate FA to the fullest, you should play 4 in my perspective.
You're right. I was just stating points to defend my actions of only partially covering 4, but now i think it came out sounding only negative. 4 is still a good game
@@aboveaveragegaming6120 All good bro, thanks for the video man. Excellent work. Looking forward to the 5thgen coverage. If you need any help or just want to kick it with VD there's plenty of people on ACD2.0 to help out including me. 👍
You cant be hard enough on 4 and For Answer.
I think one big problem with playing 4 nowadays is how the 1.03 regulations are totally lost on PS3/PS3 emulation. Base AC4 has really bad energy balance, overed boosting is a totally useless mechanic.
@@doshmastercash1977 Not anymore, we have full regs on the US version working now.
For Answer route 1: "We did it! We saved humanity!"
For Answer route 2: "I did it! I saved humanity!"
For Answer route 3: "I love murder!"
Route 1: We saved humanity but not rly
Route 2: We saved humanity but I'm a terrorist
Route 3: Yes murder
Wouldn't say the first path is saving humanity, more like prolonged their inevitable demise.
For Answer route 1: "We did it! We saved the order of the world! I mean, everyone's going to die unless we can get off world and that likely won't happen now, but that's future Humanity's problem!"
For Answer route 2: "I did it! I saved humanity! I mean, millions will die and hundreds of millions will suffer as a result. But hay, we got space back and I'm sure future wars won't be that bad, right?"
For Answer route 3: "I won, clearly, because I have the greatest kill count ever."
@@Sorain1 Route 1 is still definitely the most morally correct option, imo. We'd still get to space eventually, we'd just have a crisis at the time that no Raven, Lynx, AC or Next could possibly solve on their own. We'd just wouldn't have millions of lives on our hands. The next war would probably be centered around who got to board the "ark" that ferries humanity to salvation. (Probably a needs of the many vs the needs of the few kinda deal.) Or perhaps if there even IS an "ark."
Well, it doesn't matter what routes you pick, everyone in the world including you are inevitably screwed in one way or another
Hard missions in AC4A should be renamed Normal + Murphy's Law. They're all like alternate reality versions of the standard mission, except you constantly have terrible luck.
I'd almost say its the "True" versions. Favourite example is seed a barren earth, where after you kill joshua and the 00-Aretha explodes, unexpectedly Omer sends in their star pilot as a backup and the music changes. He also belittles Joshua's reputation and ability.
@@warrantyV0IDED I agree, actually. My other thought was that Normal missions were a big tutorial for the real deal Hard missions.
New Game+ Oh no
ML+7
"Hey! It looks like your legs boosters are disabled, now you have to walk and dodge the incoming missiles.."
@@TKUltra971 "Whoops, we lost your NEXT, but here's a loaner Normal you can use! Good luck fighting that Arms Fort!"
I feel like this game should be the standard for hard mode in gaming.
It really is a Miyazaki story. Inexplicably awesome player character is given a choice while all the NPCs die around them. Maintain the status quo, aspire to a better future at great cost, or just kill everyone. Dude has been telling the same story for 15 years and we love it.
Even then in all three endings, Omer still wins.
Basically, Prove yourself a Corporate Dog by "Saving" People, Save Humanity by Commiting Genocide and proving that you are a Corporate Dog or spite the corporations even though the Corporations probably won't care much since the Cradles are out of the picture.
Stayed kills them too they wiped 95 percent of the human population.
@@dooggo-1402 I mean, you have to imagine that most if not all the people who run the corporations live on the cradles, so they probably wouldn't be too happy about getting genocide'd.
Unless the corpos are all run by some kind of AI, which is always a strong possibility.
@@Tenchigumi to be fair, nineball exists and has a somewhat similar goal for humanity
Narratively it makes sense for 4 to not have consorts in it because you're a single independent LYNX working directly for Anatolia, and the only one at that, while the world burns around you in the LYNX War.
Your operator in For Answer goes by the name Serene Haze, a hidden identity from her original name Kasumi Sumika, a Lynx who fought during the LYNX War in AC4. The name Kasumi Sumika is a reference to two characters from the Muv-Luv franchise
I always like to imagine that the 3rd Gen of AC is post 4 timeline, where after the cradles fell, either from age or lack of power, the survivors went underground to escape the still poluted surface.
that's a neat thought actually. could explain stuff like the Massive MT and Massive Weapon from AC3 being AI Arms Forts, IBIS's AC being a NEXT in the last mission of AC:SL, and the Pulverisers from Last Raven being a variant of NEXT.
@@ausburnesdumbaltaccount9676 Yeah, the 002-B always gave me big pulverizer vibes with their blue blades and tendency to just float in the air.
And I'm looking forward to AC6 to see if it can be connected to the results of the closed plan.
Just a tidbit about why White Glint is the name of the NEXT piloted by the AC4 Protag, it's because Joshua was actually a friend of and one of the few people actually considered to be an actual ally to the AC4 Protag...making the last mission in AC4 all the more heartbreaking, as Joshua was blackmailed into betraying his friend. As a result, the character renamed his NEXT to that of Joshua's, in honor of his late friend.
So I go, and cannibalize White Glint and combine it with AALIYAH parts to maximize PA rectification, slap an oversized generator in it, and dual JADORE in place of back weapons, to abuse the sh*t out of assault armor, and effectively convert it into a weapon of mass destruction.
@@involuntaryanalysis All the better to go down the Old King route.
Solaire in mech form. :(
Its a FromSoft-souls game that's for sure. No matter what decision you make, everything is f**ed even when you win. You lose.
I could've sworn White Glint's LYNX was FJ?
@@Rio..o7.. No, it's your character from AC4. She was your operator back then, too, and still is the operator for Anatolia's Merc.
I remember that 4 was my introduction to AC. I played the demo back when I was 8. It was confusing for my tiny baby mind but I remember the aesthetic and the music clear as day. It was so...unconventional for a mecha game. It wasn't until I was 16 that I got into the series proper, mostly because of that one reference to ACFA in Bloodborne.
Also fair point on not reviewing 4. It's not the worst game, and I kind of prefer the music in that game to FA, but the improvements FA makes are insane, alongside its QoL
i agree the soundtrack is better in 4.
Wow you're a music fan of AC4 too? Yeah the tracks in 4 were amazing, 4A were okay. AC5 only had a few good tracks. I never got around playing Verdict Day due to work obligations.
A référence to ACFA in Bloodborne. You mean patches, or is there another one?
@@hesiolite The Reiterpallasch(?) in Bloodborne is named after Wynne D. Fanchion's AC

You can actually fail the Spirit of Mother Motherwill mission by letting it escape. There's dialog from your operator ridiculing you.

@@aboveaveragegaming6120I don’t like the idea of energy weapons has now money cost because it’s a waste credits & there’s a moment you need to buy some cool stuff you need but broke on money
I honestly think the moist interesting ending is the Oldking ending, because it really adds an extra layer to the whole narrative; 'if you knew what Oldking knew, would you have taken the same path? Does it really boil down to insanity, or is there something else that drives him to do what he does?'
From a character writing point of view, at least, it leads to some outrageously kino plot direction.
The Old King is such a fascinating enigma despite how little of him is actually in the game. Like... Why is is NEXT named Lisa? What's up with his emblem of a chained woman? Why is constantly calling you degrading names? Why does he sound like Vamp from MGS? And why does he have a total tsundere moment when he dies and is like "glad I got to know you bro"?
@@Tenchigumi Wasn't it implied that Strayed was recruited by Malzel, or was it a mistranslation?
if you play jp version, you can enjoy him singing while killing cradles, fun stuff
@@eidrag He does that in English too, albeit without words.
@@Tenchigumi that's just humming
Also, even though I haven't played them yet. The soundtrack for these two games in particular is INSANELY GOOD. Like half the reason I want to play this game so badly is how badass the song "Panther" is. I'm surprised you didn't mention your favorite bangers.
I always forget something. I just had a list sitting there for a good week and everything I thought about I wrote down. Somehow didn't write down soundtrack
100% agree. Armored Core as a series often has some pretty great and unique music, but AC4/4A has some REALLY good tracks. Hopefully you're able to play those games soon; as good as they are alone, they immensely add to the experience of the games.
I bought 4a for like fifteen dollars a couple of weeks before the pandemic was declared. Its absolutely wild how much it's going for now. Thank God for emulation so more ppl can play it. (Not a reseller scumbag or anything btw, just a ps3 enjoyer who loves collecting the oddball games from that era)
On the Motherwill fight, it may look simple and easy but lemme tell you the moment you get hit by those missiles it simply eats through your AP like it was nothing. The operator is right, first time fighting it you gotta really focus or risk dying pretty quick!
Plus doing that mission on the PS3 creates the additional challenge of the enemy using frame drops as part of their arsenal.
I've been eagerly waiting for this video. AC:FA is one of my favorite games ever and I'm really glad that this video will help more people learn about how incredible it is. You do great work.
Your AC reviews are next to professional.
To me, 'AMS' is basically the 4th-generation-name for "Human +".
Removing HIDDEN parts that you have to look for is actually something that I like in the 4th gen games, it was a PITA to try to look for every part myself and having to resort to the internet just to look for those parts is something I didn't want to have to do.
I just wanna say thank you for making these videos. They allow me and many others to learn about armored core in a fun and engaging way without having to buy the games for like 150 dollars or something seriously thank you. Your video are really appriciated can't wait for more from your channel!

Armored Core for Answer might be the single most played game on my XBox 360, with easily hundreds if not thousands of hours put into the Garage alone. Got a group of friends all together to play online coop and versus, traded designs, got better at the game, it was an amazing period of time. I still sometimes like to boot up my old save file, even if just to peruse the dozens of designs I made, each with their own emblems and gimmicks.
If AC6 can recapture some of that experience , especially now on PC, I will be a happy man.
So much time put into making the perfect looking mech. I loved it
Nice job as always with these.
5:52 Patches' Japanese name is Patch, and he even has the same Japanese VA until they switched to English only.
Also, I hope you become as popular in the AC community as Zullie the Witch or Zio is for the Souls series.
I'm still finding out more stuff for 4A through your vids. Love seeing more man
This is the first game I’ve discovered when searching about armored core after I heard mechanized memories(this was before any announcement of 6). I did not know how devilishly detailed this game is. I even gotten the design books of this and it shows how much thought they put into the NEXTs and other units. The designs kinda also tell a story by just looking at them. An example would be the X-sombrero having similar back booster design to the 00-Aretha. I’m very curious about VI and it’s mechanical designs and take on the AC sandbox. There is also hover legs in the game. I’m also curious if the sound of the weapons for the VI game would actually sound like your lobbing a tank shell at the enemy.
Edit: my mistake, I thought there was hoverlegs
For Answer was the first armored core game I played. You and the announcement of 6 inspired me to go back through the 3rd gen games. I wonder what going back to 4 would be like after I finish last raven
The Union: Relative peace in a system that will eventually destroy the surface, and by extension the rest of humanity
Orca: Immediate sacrifices now for a chance of a new future among the stars
Oldking: I came here to fire explosive ammunition and execute civilians. And I'm already out of ammo.
So, The tank Treads actually let you dock full primary's as secondary weapons. But you couldn't have the same weapon on the same arm for some reason...
Been waiting for this one!! It's awesome seeing your channel pop off too, I found you right at the start of the AC6 hype and your series retrospective is my favorite on YT

Thanks for posting. I'm always looking for more fan opinions on AC4/4A and its story stuff. Your mono-toned voice is incredibly smoothing Mr 9-Ball AI.
RIP White Glint, best mobile suit of the mecha verse.
57:38 I don't know why but in my head she says "I think you understand why. You........ Are maidenless"
The emblem editor that proliferated all these games from this era was INCREDIBLE and I sure hope AC6 brings it back
Liam O'Brian doing fenominal on some of the mercenaries, loved the video man. Makes me hope they make AC6 in this game's likeness.
Emulation for AC4A is a bit weird, in that depending on which version of RPCS3 you run (which they update EXTREMELY frequently) you could either have a silky smooth experience at 4K, or have a constantly crashing catastrophe. In particular, the versions of RPCS3 released around late Dec 2022 seem to run fine, but updates in Jan 2023 caused the game to just crap itself during cutscenes and some battles. I haven't played the game since then, so I don't know if newer versions of RPCS3 have fixed this, but it's something to keep in mind, because if you've followed emulation guides but still have trouble emulating this game, you might want to try a different (older) version of RPCS3.
Uts weird rpcs3 has an update 10 times a day but the game still isn't fixed... I have a feeling pretty soon it will be 100% and I can't wait for that. I don't miss the weird pink lines all over my mech lol
AC:FA is one of my all time favorite games, hands down.
I'm really hoping that with Miyazaki at the head of the early development that 6 will be a lot like it.
Watching videos like this reminds me of why I love Armored Core
There is no better hype for the next AC than seeing how good this was
Instant Classic. AAG out doing himself again.
I was the #1 ranked player in AC4 and AC4A for awhile until a player named Snakeyes (Who became a professional Street Fighter player) came along and was just vastly more skilled than everyone else to the point where he completely changed the multiplayer meta. He honestly deserves an easter egg devoted to him in AC6 imo. Really miss that community they were a dramatic bunch but really good people overall. I remember being in awe of the Japanese players who were all very skilled but had a much less aggressive and more tactical style of play than the US players. They were absolutely incredible artists as well that pushed the emblem creator to its limit and inspired me to make some of my own. Seeing an emblem that you had made be embraced and shared by the community was such a cool feeling. When For Answer was announced there was so much excitement and hype but it ended up changing the multiplayer too dramatically and only a few of the new arenas were fun to play so many of us just moved on. I would love to see a return of some of the classic maps from AC4 like Parabolic Grove or Abandoned City, as well as some of the weapons like the Marve rifle or the mussleshell missiles. Third stage boosting (Where you could supercharge your quick boosts with basically frame perfect trigger inputs) needs to make a return as well because it added an important layer of complexity to being a good AC pilot.
I have to say your videos are immaculate. I had only gotten in to mecha last year in September because my friends got me into Gundam. Found Armored core around the same time along with your channel and heard the rumor of a new one but eventually the itch to play AC was to much I got AC4 and AC4A. So these two have become my first introductions to the series so far. Ever since playing them, I have been waiting for this video. I have to say as a fresh Lynx this video was a blast! Keep it up chief. Can't wait for 5th gen.
I've watched every episode of this series so far and honestly these videos are amazing content. Well structured and they help someone who's never played AC (me) to understand what these games are like.
also, to note about the last mission in the destruction path: it plays Strayeds' theme 'schorcher' for it. by all rights at this point: you are the greatest evil on the planet-and unfortunately for what remains, you win.
I loved For Answer, it really gave me that "high speed mech battle" I always wanted. Plus, I could equip gattling guns everywhere and shower the landscape with bullets! Fun times were had. I hope AC6 pulls more towards For Answer than Veredict Day.
I just subbed you your channel a couple of months ago and has been a great source of armored core related entertainment. Keep up the good work. Also, ac4 and 4a's soundtrack slaps as hard as a laser blade on an MT.
As always man top notch AAG, thank you for continuing to improve your video editing skills and making wonderful content for the community.

And thank you for taking the time to make this, and all the others!
Also, your editing skills seems to just be getting exponentially better with every video, I can only imagine how much hard work it’s been, but thank you for all the time you’ve put in!
Your best video yet. Great stuff.
Also didn't know you played Melee but the shield drop analogy is absolutely perfect to describe second staging
Before I watched your vids I had only played AC2 and a bit of 3 mostly when I was younger but now I'm well and truly on my way through Silent Line and very keen to get into 4A, I had no idea you could emulate it before watching this.
Thanks for the great content and re-igniting my love for these great games
Another great video. Haven't played either 4 or For Answer myself but I did watch lets plays of them years ago in the early 2010s. Also one quick interesting tid bit about what you mentioned in regards to being able to shoot down enemy missiles. I was going back through some of my old recordings of Armored Core Silent Line and found a recording of the "Test New Technology" mission during the part where you are allowed to fire back at the drones firings missiles. I saw that two of the rounds fired from my rifle actually managed to shoot down two of the missiles that had been fired at me. Of course it wasn't intentional as it was just a case of the missiles happening to travel into my line of fire lol. Still cool to know that its been possible as far back as that game.

The way you punked ShinKai was GOLD.
The number one, or something?
Great video though, defo gonna check this out before 6 drops!
Great video. Thanks for all the time and effort you've put in between recording and editing to make this series possible.
I thought I was a fan until you showed me the second stage boost. I had no freakin clue!
Your vid doesn't disappoint. I like your long format vids too!
Ac4a is by far my favorite Armored Core game. So glad you covered it!
One thing i love is the destroy ending is the only actual anti corpo ending
First one you ensure the corporations stay in power
Second you set up a power vacuum that certain corporations are likely prepared for (omer)
Third its said you shoot down the cradles not necessarily killing the people on the surface, so an interpretation of it is you deciding to completely wipe out the corporations (though keep in mind its merely an interpretation)
That actually kinda makes sense. Never thought of it like that
The Old King ending might be for the best. Line Ark was good for a while, but it won't be long before the leadership gets in cahoots with the corpos. Wiping the corps out for the better.
Great summary! One cool thing is with BFF part names, you can kind of date some of the technology and approximate the time between the two games. Also you can experience, albeit at a distance, the assault cells for yourself on the defend cradle 21 mission.
I'll have to replay that mission and check that out

Seriously though, I'm not even an AC fan, I bounced off of 3 when I tried playing it last year, but your immense dedication to this retrospective is commendable and I greatly enjoyed these videos. Here's hoping ACVI can be more approachable for a noob like me but without casualizing and sacrificing things that made this series so unique, but I have 100% trust in FROM.
Watching this video, I realized that the ORCA ending could actually connect this continuity with ACVI, since space travel is a thing, but it's a big stretch and this ain't like Drakengard/Nier, where alternate endings are taken into consideration.
But way more importantly, the simple addition of having a variety of ACs to choose from at the start is such a simple, yet genius idea and I really, _reeeeeeeeally_ hope ACVI brings this back. I don't know anything about V or VD so I have zero idea if they kept this.
EDIT: I forgot to mention the new HUD, having tons of junk on screen feels more authentic to how an actual mech's cockpit would look like and I lament this loss, but at the same time, the new HUD is completely fine too.
V and VD are sequels to 4th gen and i do mean in story, they take place like centuries after FA or something iirc. also just to note, any of FA's endings could be considered canon
Honestly I figured the minimalism fit given a NEXT uses a direct neural link to control them, unlike Normal AC's classical control scheme. It's all HUD with a NEXT essentially.
I would disagree, moder HUDs strive to simplify things as much as possible.
Thank you! I always enjoy watching your vids. Your playthrough of this was also very fun to watch.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Holy... Well I didn't exect you to cover both of these games in one video... but clearly you've given each title the time it deserves, I can tell that and I haven't even started in. Okay, enough yammering on by me for now, I'll have plenty more of that to do in roughly an hour, now it's time to tuck in to this treat!
What an insane series. Thank you for your coverage!
Great video. It's nice for once to see detailed explanations, decent gameplay, and mission dialogs in a video about ACFA. Actually I think it's the first time on youtube we can hear complete dialogs and see good gameplay in end missions. Thank you
Hope ya do more videos, regardless if they're armored core or not! Good stuff. Glad to see ya picking up subs!
I hope the feature of destroying AF is also included in AC6, and I hope you get an option whether to destroy it from the outside or inside.
I’m going to be real, I have never played armored core and have never searched it up but I somehow got here to this video. I gotta say this was awesome and really cool to find a new game series to try out! You earned a sub and keep up the good work!
Appreciate the time and affection put into all of these videos. Having grown up on the Xbox side of the fence I didn't get the chance to play the classic AC games, but 4/4A instantly sold me on the whole series. I might try the path of the emulator but getting the overview from a veteran was very welcome.
Great video. This game alone sold me a PS3 back in the day, and I think that was a right purchase. I've put many hours into the game, I've S-ranked all the missions all by myself, and I still play it to this day, emulated. Actually, the emulator community has been struggling a lot with this game, but last year, a couple of fixes were implemented which made the game playable, and I've recently 100%'d it all over again.
Regarding your points, I agree with everything, a solid analysis and fair critique. It was nice to revisit the 4th gen, thank you for starting this project initially.
Looking forward for you to cover the 5th gen, I'm curious on what you have to say.
i started my playthrough a couple weeks ago and just now am watching this!!! its such a fun series to be diving into
Solid video!! :D Watching this while getting more hyped for Armored Core 6! I hope to see you on the battlefield. :)
Can’t wait to see your ACV that was the one I never really got into the ACs looked like scrap but all the little details and weapon swap animations was cool as hell.
Honey come in here he finally dropped the AC4/FA video!
This is the type of shit you feel in Armored Core 6, but you can also see how it originally started. They were used as weapons of war, probably using very easy augmentations just to hold against the Gs youll be pulling with greater reflex. Its absolutely insane the attention to detail in 6. Its just about fully realized in it.
Glad you got to this one. Your list was missing my favorite one in the entire series
Thanks for sharing the resources to emulate this. I've really been looking forward to playing this one after going through some of the ps2 games. I even tried to buy a ps3 from ebay and ended up borrowing one from my friend. But of course, the second I get it it stops working. I really did wanna try playing this on original hardware but ps3's and copies of this game go for over a hundred each right now, it's crazy. I regret not getting it earlier before the AC6 announcement, but c'est la vie. Anyway, great video. Thanks again for getting me to finally play these games, it's been a blast. Looking foward to hearing your closing thoughts on AC5 and yeah a multiplayer lobby before AC6 comes out sounds lit as hell. I'd love to get some team battles in.
Ya I made the mistake of not building a collection myself... maybe a few years after ac6 comes out, prices will be normal
Great video man! Love the nostalgia of watching Armor Core 4 Answer videos.
I love how every time I watch your videos I fall back in a rabbit hole booting up old armored Core games and put hours into them, whether it be work week or all weekend long
Excellent video, man. Looking forward to the next video. Just completed by Berlioz model.
When I was a kid, I had a brief experience of AC: Masters of Arena (technically my first) through PVP only with my brother. My first hand experience of playing AC are Nexus (personally loved the opening and music too), Ninebreaker and Last Raven (my personal favorite among AC3 series) then Verdict Day (personally my least favorite).
AC4 and For Answer would be my next personal favorite if I didn't missed out when it came out during that time. I only appreciated AC4 and For Answer through let's plays by crazzycomrade then ACL and your channel (also other AC related channels too) after the trailer of AC6 came out.
This video is well done and can't wait for AC6 to come out.
Funny you should mention destructibility in the upcoming AC title. Elden Ring has a lot of destructibility that wasn't even asked for and we would probably not have noticed if it wasn't even there so considering AC titles ought to have it I'm sure they're going ham on that mechanic.
This has been a really helpful series. Thanks for all your hard work! Looking forward to hearing what you have to say about 6 when it releases.

There's an alternate method to second staging, while in the air, for a split-second release your main booster, and then hit both at the same time, keeping your main booster held down to continue moving. This actual makes for great evasive maneuvering in PvP, it stutters your movements, and makes auto locking less effective. Also, stabilizers affect firing stability as well, A lot of the heavier back weapons suffer in accuracy on lighter weight cores, but the shoulder slot, in specific, will increase the overall firing stability, OR I'm insane and it was just some odd psychological trigger that made me "gIt GuD."
Either way, ORCA for life.
I'll have to try that out
@@aboveaveragegaming6120 I found it by using the shoulder buttons for boosting and quickboost, it just never felt right using the triggers for me.

Incredible coverage. I'll take it as the next best thing to getting to fully experience it myself. Wish I had a 360 copy or a PC strong enough to emulate 360 games. Sadly don't think I'll ever get an opportunity to get my hands on 4 or For Answer ever again (at least not at an affordable price) and pitifully, my last time I ever tried to play it was during the Blockbuster Video days when I was too dumb and impatient of a kid to learn how to be good at the mech building and flying.
Super excited for AC6, hope it's every bit as good as For Answer.

Ah, For Answer. My favorite game in the series, and one of my favorite games of all time, period.
This was an excellent overview of the game and nearly everything you said I 100% agree on. Really well-made video overall. :3
A little correction about a thing you said, though: tank legs aren't just tanky, they also allow you to put ANY arm weapon in your hangar slots, even the biggest of guns - it's a niche but nice feature. I'm also sad that hover legs are gone, but better like this than having them be unusable like in Last Raven. Hope they'll return in ACVI in all their glory.
There is only one thing I've always been confused about - aside from you I hear so many people advise to play with the Regular-B controls, but to this day I still play with Regular-A and have always found it super comfortable and easy to use, got my SS rank with it as well. Maybe it's just me, but whatever works I guess. c:
Got SS with full custom controls and boosting on stick clicks. Did not know about second staging for 10 years.
I haven't known about second staging until this very video - after trying it for a while until I got it fairly consistent in AC Test, I can say it's definitely something that I'd never be able to do while I'm focusing on shooting and dodging. Mad props to the LYNX good enough to do it in battle reliably.
I didn't know that about tank legs. that's pretty cool.
Well, I actually managed to destroy the two ACs on Airsul dam using hover legs and didn't even get them crushed. They really carry the "Speed is life" line with them. But yeah, I would still choose bipeds there.
I been waiting for this one, happy to see its an hour long :)
TFW you nailed second-staging to the point that enemy AI break their necks trying to target you. I spent probably days worth of time trying that final 'Old King' mission with different builds just to see how janky my build could be to still win.
I played the AC games when I was younger I never knew they had concle games until recently thanks for covering this!
I watched this whole video and the Last Raven Overview as well. Armored Cored just seems awesomely depressing. Can't wait for 6. Amazing Video
My favorite AC game hopefully AC6 is a return to this style gameplay. Awesome video great work
I learned to count by working together with Old King.
I'm playing all the AC games from the very first ones now, and this video makes me exited for 4th gen so much!
I've been waiting so long for this one!!! 🥰🥰🥰
love these videos, I'm looking forward to them
I put hundreds of hours in For Answer back in high school, and I NEVER found out about second staging until watching this. Really great dissection of the mechanics and how they function to increase the overall pace of the game speed.
Also re: the narrative, I love the personality that Kasumi has as an operator; when she chews out the GA staff in the Cabracan mission, you can hear the disdain in her voice. Small touch, but it does so much for the feel of the game.
Oh it'll blow you away. I'm in the same boat and 6 is what drew me in. So much story telling, so much attention to detail, so much to delve into. The story is evident here and something bad happened to mankind.
