1984🤘☠️🤘1984. I was 15 years old. Saw this tour in San Antonio opening for Armoured Saint. Cliff wearing old school Levi bell bottoms. Rumors raging that Metallica was looking for a new lead singer. Now you know why headbangers bang their heads!
Sold out. Mercyful Fate playing before and between sets. Complete sweat box. I was front row competing with the Watchtower singer for my spot! Close enough to grab James’ dirty high top sneakers.
OMG! The brother is actually head bangin'. I love it! This is what Metal does. You automatically start headbangin' without realizing you're headbangin'.
Metallica's song "For Whom the Bell Tolls" is inspired by a scene in Ernest Hemingway's 1940 novel of the same name: In Chapter 27, five soldiers from the International Brigades are killed by enemy aircraft after taking a defensive position on a hill during the Spanish Civil War. The soldiers, including El Sordo, are aware that their fight is futile and that they will all die.

The best scene to go with this song is the intro to Zombieland. I will never not think of that listening to this now.
This is from, undoubtedly one of the best metal albums of all time. my personal favourite of all Metallica songs. Cliff is the main reason Metallica stood above the other bands of the time. He insisted they move away from traditional rock melodies and scales, and use classical scales instead. He taught the scales to Kirk, and was James's mentor. A beautiful, kind man, from everything i've ever seen, heard or written about him. I saw them live at the Edinburgh Playhouse in September 86, just 2 weeks before the bus crash. Incredibly sad. Metallica never released anything as good again as RTL and MOP (although the Garage Days $5.98 EP is fantastic too). RIP Cliff
I have been enjoying watching you guys expand your musical tastes (Black Sabbath is one of my favorite bands). I have yet to see a "Jethro Tull" video. Please try Locomotive Breath, Aqualung, and Bungle in the Jungle. You will not be disappointed....I promise!
"Impending doom" is right - as I believe, this song was after the novel of the same name by Ernest Hemingway about the Spanish civil war, in which a group of soldiers makes their last stand on a hill, and, wounded, continues to fight in the face of insurmountable odds.
Yall mentioning the time signatures has me wanting yall to react to some more Tool! Love all your reactions though and Metallica is genuinely the GOAT!

You might be ready for Slayer, try Slayer - Angel of death. It’s about hitler’s mad doctor Josef Megele, he did diabolical medical experiments on their prisoners
Do some Megadeth a band formed by Metallica's original guitarist Dave mustaine Here is a live version of hanger 18 🤘🎶🔥 ruclips.net/video/37ECJWbHjoQ/видео.htmlsi=2Zrpez_wz3bOzvLy
Ngl I thought Metallica was mid, until I really delved into their older music. Their older stuff is just so idk, atmospheric & vibey. Very much giving villain arc vibes. I think this song & fade to black are my favs. Master of puppets and Santorium are favs too. But Metallica always makes me think of my first love. We were locked up together as teenagers. It was a place that was court ordered but not Juvie. Think a place for kids who hasn’t gotten in enough trouble to be sent to juvie or who were transferring out of juvie. My bf at the time had shot his dad at 14 (he didn’t kill him) & spent 3 yrs in juvie & transferred in when I was 14. His fav band was Metallica & I was so in love with him. Dude totally broke my heart. Like treachery and betrayal, all sorts of teenage angst lol. Cheated on me with my bestie & this btch named Stacie. Dude had eclectic taste in music tho, & introduced me to artists I hadn’t really paid attn to.
You want alot of views for a video? You gotta do Korn- Freak On A Leash. And do the offical music video when you do. It'll be one that gets you more views and thumbs up than most videos. Everyone reacts to it. You'll love it!
That high pitch riff in the very beginning was actually the bass. RIP Cliff
Metallica ORION no words just metal!
You must react to live version in 1985 with their legendary bassist Cliff Burton who sadly passed away in an accident in 1986. Rest in peace, Cliff!
Yes, he was so good, it doesn't matter if you listen to the studio version or him live!!😊
DEFO do Day on the Green 1985 it's a must.. just to see Cliff Burton.. LEGEND!.
These guys are 100% correct. You should definitely react to that.
Agreed, love cliff. The orchestra version is also a good rendition of this. The early heavy riff is greatly improved by the strings imo.
100% must react to the above stated live version.

In Denver , the show was at the Rainbow music hall. I saw a bunch of concerts there. It is no longer there 😢
RIP Cliff

Good review. Old Metallica is magical.

...And Justice For All is a fantastic album, too.
This is about a movie about a soldier who is helping the French resistance. He stays behind to let the resistance leave and live.
TRAPPED UNDER ICE next please
If I'm running into certain danger I want this song in my ears.
Here we go!!
That's Cliff!! Best bass opening on a song
I have been enjoying watching you guys expand your musical tastes (Black Sabbath is one of my favorite bands). I have yet to see a "Jethro Tull" video. Please try Locomotive Breath, Aqualung, and Bungle in the Jungle. You will not be disappointed....I promise!

Hell ..anymore i give a thumbs up like before even listening to your reaction. Having a cool song title and cool band says it all for me.
This is a long shot, but Satan’s Fall by Mercyful Fate. They were a big influence on Metallica.
"Impending doom" is right - as I believe, this song was after the novel of the same name by Ernest Hemingway about the Spanish civil war, in which a group of soldiers makes their last stand on a hill, and, wounded, continues to fight in the face of insurmountable odds.
❤❤❤❤

I was there!!!! My senior year of high school.
Cliff Burton was a bassists hero
anesthesia pulling teeth and Orion will both blow your minds
Cliff shredded his ass off on bass and this is one of the best songs for Lars IMO
Pantera- Domination Live in Moscow!!!!!
Y’all need to see the GOAT metal guitarist
That riff is not to be F ‘d with. Perfect analogy. “ Henchmen music lol 😂
Cliff Burton!!!
If u do Metallica you gotta do MEGADETH!!!
Yall mentioning the time signatures has me wanting yall to react to some more Tool! Love all your reactions though and Metallica is genuinely the GOAT!
This song is nasty. Definitely the best Metallica song. And it’s the opening song on zombieland 😂
People keep saying this song is Metallica's "best", and it is a great song, but they have plenty more songs that blow Bells out of the water.
@ nah they don’t
If you want to hear Cliff kill it on bass and mistake it for guitars you have to check out Orion. Keep up the good work fellas
Sad but true, devils dance, God that failed, bad seed, thorn within have a similar vibe.
God That Failed for sure! That's a beast.
Most metal fans put that aimg right up near the top. Metallica fans argue between this and Master of Puppets

Yeesh. Hope that punk is still locked up for shooting his dad. And does your username suggest you're a Kommie? 🤮🙄 You honestly sound crazy.
I can't believe they haven't yet listened to Metallica's arguably most famous song, ENTER SANDMAN !!!
That song is so played out, even Metallica got sick of it. It's not a bad song, but it's just so overplayed.
@@nckhed Yeah, but not to these guys.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
