The graining tips on the steering wheel alone is worth the price of admission
3 years ago...maaan time goes by very quick. But i really like to come back and watch this build again :D
I really appreciated the way you methodically described every step of your build, and why. Most other modelers leave us watching their activities without any explanation, detailed or otherwise.
I wouldn't have been able to resist painting it with British Racing Green.
Most beautiful car ever made : Jaguar E type🤩
Oh yes
Enjoyed the build specially the way you did the steering wheel.
The clear orange coat gave it the look of a highly varnished wood. Just beautiful; all the way around.
Seconded. That steering wheel was really lovely
I never intend to build a model this advanced but it's a joy watching you work - and oddly relaxing. 🤔
It is incredible! The shades of leather, the whole engine bay, steering wheel ... amazing result.
That Jag is beautiful. I love the detail you applied to this model. I especially like how you did the epoxy on the gauges to give them a glass look over the gauge faces, very nice touch. I may have to invest in an air brush to up my game.
Exquisite build.
Your attention to detail is amazing.
The E type has been my dream car since I 1st saw 1 at 8 yrs old (I'm 55 now).
Very nice work. I used to have the patience to build models but just don’t anymore. Watching these videos is pretty satisfying. Thanks for doing them.
I'm Australian. Interesting to see such an iconic car that I lusted after IRL for so long in the 1960s and 1970s being built back-to-front. To my eye, everything inside the car is on the wrong side, while the fuel cap is on the correct side. I am in AWE of the work you did getting those wheels done. I have never seen Chrome on a model done that way and it's outstanding!! Thank you for showing me how to do that. . And you were right to get the 3D printed wheels. I always wanted some spoke wheels on a car. It never occurred to me Id have to spend most of a weekend cleaning them every week.
I have just bought that very kit. Looking forward to comparing mine with yours.
Nice. Your craft is next level. I don’t typically associate Revell with being able to achieve that kind of fine detail (that’s been more of a Tamiya thing in my experience) but you’ve made it look stunning.
Beautiful paint and interior. I am trying the bare metal chrome for the first time on a Lotus Europa. I like the way it goes on and looks great. Much better than masking and painting. Thank you for showing this product in the video.
I have watched you for , I guess, years now. I’ve tried to emulate your ability to construct virtually any model out in front of you and have failed miserably. I am constantly amazed by your skill and results. You are a modeling god. Thank you for sharing!
Why are you trying to emulate? Use the basic technique and add to it.
Nice idea for the wood effect using Tamiya clear orange. May try that in future.
Beautiful build of the classic E Type.
That looks a very good kit. I especially like the separate door handles and window winders; much better than moulded in ones. I might have to get this, even though my stash is bigger than I really want!
If you’re like me your stash has developed a mind of its own ;)
what kinda cars you got ?:)
Your care, attention to detail and painting skills are outstanding. Lovely. Thanks.
Damn...that steering wheel looks so much like the real thing!
Superb build and finish, that Molotow is unbelievable! Only comment I would make is that to make it even more realistic, pop some panel line accentuator in.... the panel lines!
You are a real artist. Always brings a smile to my face.
that's a thing of beauty.....stunning work...and a joy to watch built......
I'm just about to build this kit thanks for the usefully tips you make it look easy nice job well done
If only building E-Types were this easy in real life >.< Great work!
I really like the handcraft you applied for the models, absolutely beautiful.
the triggered airbrush feels so comfortable to use.
Beautiful build! I’m all Corvette , but the XKE is my second love!
Sweet! The late Series 1 XKE (65-67) was my dream car. I almost purchased one three separate occasions but never did. Could have bought a 67 with 8k miles in the mid-1970s for $5500...oh, well.
Nothing but admiration for your build, lovely project.
Great work on the XK engine! Its my most favourite engine 2nd to the small block Chevy!
Beautifully executed start to finish
Wow!!! Such painstaking work. A fantastic result too.
Fantastic Jaguar That's the most impressive job I Have seen
The Jaguar details are so impressive
I hope see your job again
I'm from Brazil and you gathered a new fan
Thanks

The work of a true master!
I really enjoyed watching this, thanks👏👍
Excellent build! I am waiting until this kit from Revell of Germany is re-released. I heard of mold issues on the body and RoG wanted to correct it. Your did an excellent job building this kit!
Do you mean Revell will re-release the new tool they just released? I have bought this new tool twice now. Both kits have the bonnet about 4 mm too wide, lots of lumps on the body exterior. Otherwise the parts seem to fit together very well. Wrote Revell about the issue with the bonnet, they promised to send spare parts for free.
@@Anonymous1999b, from what I have been told, Revell of Germany decided to re-engineer the body molds to produce a more accurate body and do away with the sink marks and bumps. The XK-E is suppose to be re-released in June.
@@007mrmike007 That’s interesting really. The new tool Revell XK-E (e-type in the USA) now has a pre-order status in some online hobby shops. But because the new tool e-type was just released, i wonder if they re-release or modify that also, because of the same issues? Or will this be USA only re-release? We’ll see i guess.
@@Anonymous1999b Since the Jag XK-E is from Revell of Germany, it would be safe to say that new body molds would apply to all kits that they are producing and not just the USA kits.
Wow! I am lost for words
Very GOOD Job. i like the Paint job by the Steering Wheel. looks like root wood.
First time viewer of your channel. Awesome detailing, especially the wood steering wheel. Your hands are so steady, you should be a brain surgeon! 👍
very good job congratulations
I thoroughly enjoyed your video. I remember building models years ago, but I was not quite as skilled as you. Wonderfully done and looking forward to watching more builds. Subscribed.
Very nice, but you drilled the wrong holes for the spark plugs.
I just read that the new Revell Jaguar E-Type Coupe has been re-released by Revell of Germany. Now to get one...or two!
I've built at least 12 award winning Real Versions of these cars, roadsters and coupes, series 1,2,and 3. The only issue I have with the scale models kits I've seen and own are that the details are not correct. They're all over the place. The molds are all from an early series 1, like number 18 we did a few years back. The rear springs were black with yellow or blue inspection marks. The steering column is gloss black, all of it, the wheel hub is silver, but the entire column would be black including the turn signal stalk. The accel. pedal is cad plated silver. The floors have removable carpets in the footwells which contain a wide strip of vinyl. Only the very early cars had gold carb "tops", the rest were black. Transmission is semi gloss black, silver top. Drive pulleys are gloss black. An early car would have a black generator with silver caps, not an alternator. Positive ground, which means the yellow tag you put on the box would be correct for a later car, series 1.5. Negative Ground. That tag also faces out. Exhaust manifolds are porcelain gloss black, very shiny. There's nothing gold on the brakes, all silver. The battery would have silver posts. Totally "wrong" radiator fan....thats part of the "details" I mentioned earlier. The shroud looks good but the fan would be a single blade, useless too! The heater core box is high gloss black. The intake filter Can should be the same color as the V-Box, stipple silver. Hammer tone. The washer bottle is white with blue fluid in it about 1/3 up. Thats the show rules. The brake bottle heat shield is flat white on the bottle side, silver on the exhaust side. A very early car would have red caps on the bottles, the rest would be gray. Considering those are square bottles, not round, they would be gray. Believe it or not, the majority of the exhaust is black on an early car. It stops before the resonators, which are silver. It has no brake bellows, odd, which an early car would have, right next to the bottles. If not, then is would have an aluminum clutch and brake transom....this model has neither of them, odd, but, again "those kit details". The plug wires on an early car would have the XK150 style conduit and the head would have 2 lifting bars across the second and sixth head nuts. Also, the plug wires go behind the radiator hose next to the engine, not over it. The is NO amber on a series 1 front lens. These would now be a series 2.... Believe it or not but on an early car, outside mirrors were a customer bought option!! Seriously! They didn't ship them with the car. Good work on the assembly and paint detail. Nice camera work too! Don't mind my detail nit-picking, its been my real job for the last 40 years of resto work.
The wheels make the car!
I'm amazed - and also curious. Why not add some LED lighting to show off all the interior work?
Absolutely gorgeous! Incredible detail work. Thanks for the wonderful video!!
Wow that is a very nice jaguar. Perfect Built as usuall.
You sir are a next level model builder👍
That's a lovely Car and amazing skills with a beautiful finish
That steering wheel looks unbelievable, thanks for the tip!
At the end of the video, did you use the liquid chrome to paint the points where the chrome parts are attached to the sprue?
I did. Yes
Great video of your process! Beautiful results! Thank you for posting.
A lovely build and very relaxing to watch.
Very cool, my most favorite classic ever. BEAUTIFUL
thanks for the links
Wonder why Revell can’t get their rooflines correct? Original 69 Charger, Fox Mustang, the weird chop on the 49 Merc... looks like Revell made a lovely E-Type coupe then decided to be cheap and put the roadster windscreen on it.
You did a lovely job on the build though. Looks like every possible decal is included.
There are a few inaccuracies with this model: Exhaust manifolds shown are not E-TYPE exhaust manifolds, but early JAG 4 DOOR SEDAN versions which slant backwards, E TYPE manifolds point straight down from the center point of the side of the engine block. Windshield washer jar is CLEAR GLASS on EARLY E TYPEs / WHITE TRANSLUCIENT PLASTIC on later versions. RADIATOR FAN is only straight 2 blades, driven by its own electric motor mounted on the front cross frame and does not extend thru a grill behind the radiator, there is no shaft from the engine turning the fan. Also the turn indicator cover should be BLACK, the stem is chrome and the tip of the stem is black. The EMERGENCY BRAKE shown is for a RIGHT HAND DRIVE CAR, this model is LEFT HAND DRIVE. The TRANSMISSION shown here is an OVERDRIVE VERSION, NOT TYPICAL FOR E TYPES, (but available for 2+2 model), and finally the WIRE WHEEL KNOCK-OFFS are not correct type for Jaguar E TYPES. . .WHAT A MESS. '66 E TYPE OWNER.
You forgot the WINDSHIELD, thats also wrong
‘BUILDER OF INACCURATE MODELS.
A state of art.
extremely professional....
I was about to start the Heller kit of this same subject.Oops, no, now I need to buy the Revell kit, it is so much nicer, better choice of panel breaks and much more detail.
Great video, very nice detailing explanation, really impressed with the engine bay work. Amazing amount of detail. Thumbs up!!!! However, and maybe its just me. I'm sure this is a RUclips thing. This was a 25:57 long video, did I really need to cancel out 14 ads (that an ad every 1.8 minutes). Seems a LOT aggressive.
Thats a youtube thing. They put them in the videos automaticaly
Superb job, what a lovely model 👌
Thank you
Very impressive build.
Just perfect! Great work.
Biblical warnings aside, I envy your amazing skills. Thanks for this posting this build.
Great video...awesome build...when you used thinner in the black paint for the steering wheel...would windex window cleaner work as well?.
Thanks for the great videos...very appreciated...cheers🍻
I have no idea if that would work, why not use thinners that are meant for the paint you use?
Ok...ive see washer fluid being used in air brushes as a thinner
awesome job, looking forward to more, thanx!!
first time ive seen you ,great work
Quality content, beautiful camera angles and masterpieces made with effort. I subscribed to an excellent channel. I also believe that the channel will grow and I have a request from you, can you make a Revell in Trabant mockup in its original image? I wanted so much to do it, but I couldn't.
Beautiful work. I have to ask….do you scrape the paint off the part you’re adding glue to or will it still work? Some of the parts looked to be a press fit requiring no glue…is this right or was the glue there? I’m just a beginner hoping someday to build my modelling skills.
I use super glue and don’t scrape the paint off, only if the parts don’t fit
It is, indeed, *a nice silver*
Really great video you made here, i wonder why the clear parts from Revell Model Kits are always far to thick for that specific scale.
Never realised the Jag had the French DeDion designed inboard brakes.
The wheels look fantastic as does the rest of the model! I just downloaded the STL just to see Walid's work. Do you generally prefer to use bare metal foil over spraying chrome for window trim?
I preffer bare metal foil, yes
It looks so amasing!!!!
Sexiest car ever. Something about the lines. Total home run!
Wonderful work congratulations 💥💥✔✔
Mind blown
Incredible!
Interesting. This one is a LHD of a British car, yet all we get in the UK is mostly LHD models as well...
It had an RHD das in the kit too. You can choose
@@TheScalemodelingChannel Interesting. Thanks. Meanwhile, we only get one without options. Even European cars that arrive in model form are LHD only. Which kind of ruins it for me. I'd just stick with Japanese ones unless like this - there is an option.
A little bubble at the front hood at the left side... Am i right?
Overall it is very good. Nice build! Keep it up man! Thx.
Yes, a little dust.
WOW!
Thank-you - very informative and well laid out. Curious - how did you do the radio?
Used the decal from the kit
Ah I see, thanks. (stuck with '87 kit - will have to do without, then.)@@TheScalemodelingChannel
awesome job
That kit looks more detailed than the 1\8 scale kit by Monogram.
It is
Hi, what did you use for distributor wire. Great job btw. Thank you
Amazing build👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Stunning
Everything is absolutely fucking fantastic
(...except the headliner?)
Another fine build👍!
The plastic looks pretty brittle / hard {I stand corrected if I'm wrong}not like the usual plastic, that though is nothing to do with your build. thanks for sharing this video, build and content which are both fantastic. This is not meant in anyway a critisim just a long winded question. Could you tell me please, the gauge of wire used to add detail? and does your friend sell those wheels ?many thanks
The plastic seemed fine to me. Nothing out of the norm.
The wire is from scaleproduction. I do not know the thicnkess.
I don’t think he sells the printed parts
thank you for the quick response mate, I'll try it myself :}
Would you recommend backscribing ALL the panel lines?
Yes
Fantastic work, I could never dream of doing as well. That said, having watched a number of model builders on youtube, there are just some things that could be improved. I personally really dislike the foil, it's very obvious. The chrome finish on the wheels is great and I wish you could use that. I can also see some unevenness in the plastic or paint in the cowl area. There is a dent/bulge on the driver's side of the hood and perhaps the fitment could have been improved. I did love the inclusion of 3d printing in this build, it's the first time I've seen that.
I notice you don't scrape off paint before gluing. How durable is the CA glue bond on acrylic paint? And enamel paint? Thank you for posting another great video!
Its as durable as the paint hold to the plastic
Great work! What’s the fitting ratio of the Tamiya primer?
I honestly don't know. I just add thinner and see if its thin enough or if i need to add more.
Beautiful build! Love the Jags!
Great 👌 job as usual great with all the little parts but out of curiosity how long does a build like this takes ,and again great video
40 to 50 hours
insane!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
