It's greatest feeling to be a "huge fan of the movies" *IF* and when, they understand that the *fanbase" has also, matured/grown older along with the main "heroes?!" - So, seems like this franchise is working in this respect!
This is the best of the lot. The story - two aging cops. One, who wants to settle down and look after his family, whilst the other, still wants to act like a man in his 20's, go after criminals and live the single life. The villains - both mother & son were definitely not your usual run-of-the-mill villains. The mother was definitely a woman scorned! The action was more coherent and the storyline took a dark turn towards the end by killing off a favourite character. The new directors did things Michael Bay would never do with these characters. They also brought in new, younger characters that imbued new life into the franchise. The fact they actually let the characters know that they are no longer the young bucks they once were, was something most actors would shy away from. But they didn't. That's what makes Bad Boys for life a better film than the two previous films.
Love bad boys. These movies were the VCR tapes that we always had around for me and my brother to throw in and laugh our ass off!

This movie is rated PG-13 (or 14A in other places). Because of this, I thought it wasn't gonna be that violent and it would feel different in tone (because the other movies are rated R, or in other places, 18+). But it surprised me of how violent and how much swearing there was. As I was watching the movie, I kept thinking that the rating for this movie was wrong or that I thought it was PG-13. Sometimes the MPAA is whack. But all in all, I thought the movie was average (5/10). To me, it was over rated. This happened because I had no expectations of this movie at first. When I saw the trailer I thought it was going to be okay or mediocre. Especially since I learned that movies that come out in January usually sucks (especially horror movies). But when I started hearing people saying that it was good, I was going to see it (especially since me and my friends were planning to go to see a movie). So in preparation, me and my friends watched all the Bad Boys movies. We had a pretty good time watching them. I thought the first one was okay (6/10) but the second one was awesome (8/10). Since I really liked the second one, I had higher hopes for the third one. I didn't put my hopes too high though. I just expected a funny good action movie. But I was disappointed. But I can see why people like it though. Can you review the rest of them. Good review though 👍
The thing I liked most about the movie was then they played that "Do do do do do doooo" song. That was the main thing that I didn't like about the second movie (because they didn't play it, only once but like a echoey, spooky, atmospheric type of way. So I'm glad that they played that song. And they played it a lot too
Love how you pointed out the contrast between Beverly Hills Cop and Beverly Hills Cop 2. The first one was definitely comedy centric with a pinch of good action. The second one was an action movie with a little comedy thrown in because of the dynamic between now familiar characters.
You can definitely tell they were directed by two different directors. Martin Brest for the first one and Tony Scott (who just came off the success of Top Gun) in the second.
Even the tone and look of both films are super different. I like them both but they definitely feel different. I don’t even mention the third one... waste of time.
Great review Cody, I enjoyed this movie, great chemistry between Smith & Lawrence it's still there & surprisingly couple shock twists.
My only gripe was the ending which I thought jumped the shark with that reveal about who the villain is, I just didn't buy it & it left me feeling a bit disappointed after all the previous good work.
I swear you wait till England is asleep😂 1am! Not missing it tho😂 seeing this Friday. Will be very very very hard to beat bad boys 1

Damn was this a freaking fun movie. I am so fucking old i was in my 20s when the first one came out, lol. I was going to say maybe surprise of year. brilliant minds think alike. love the new ending.

Bad Boys For Life & 1917 are Definitely The 2 Best January film of 2019 really enjoyed them and can't wait to get them on Blu-Ray they are Great & Emotional film's love em.

I loved it! Seen it Saturday. Jokes on point. Will Smith and Martin Lawrence were great. I thought the characters aged well. Cool story. Loved every minute.

WHO THE FUCK IS REGGIE???? :p I loved the movie bro!...I came in thinkin...Oh man, Please dear god...This is one of favorite of films. Don't fall into the 3rd movie trap. I was very pleasantly pleased how this movie was. Not only was it so good, But it actually had SOME GOD DAMN STORY in the movie!!!!!! Hollywood pulled their head out of its ass for ONCE! Now, I will say...The fucking trailer? Gave away a piece in the film! I was like.."Oh ok, I know" when that happened. But I seen the ENTIRE THEATER gasped when another part happened tho. I don't think anyone seen that coming at all! The extra credits roll ending kinda made no sense I agree, But its out in the news. So it gives nothing away. But there is gonna be another one...So I guess sets that up. But yeah, Awesome freakin film!

I never like BB 2 olny action sequence on highway but i LOVE Bad Boys first movie. One of my favorite action movies of all time. BB2 was disapointed movie. I hope this one is better.

..... Hey Cody, let me tell you something-- a very good, in depth review. I didn't really want to see this film, but it was better than I thought it would be. I like how it emulated Lethal weapon 2 a little, with it's use of some incredibly dangerous and well-financed foreign bad guys who wipe out a whole bunch of specific people (no spoilers please Stefan!). Again, good work Cody.

Saw it just this morning, and I loved it. And yeah, I agree that it might just be the best one so far, because it ups the comedy, ups the action (results of releasing in this year), and it ups the stakes.
Just saw Bad Boys 3 and I LOVED it! I agree with you it has the best story of the three. It goes ways you don't expect it to go and I was pleased with that. Definitely worth the wait!
Fan of Bad Boys. Watched them as a kid. Third one was excellent. I didn’t like the CGI though. Lawrence and Will still got it. Must watch the fourth one now.
I had to think about whether this one was better than Bad Boys 2! But I honestly think it is! I was so excited yet nervous. i saw it opening night, THE MOVIE WAS FUCKING FANTASTIC! It was so funny! The part where AMMO is singing the bad boys song and Marcus goes "And you fuckin up the lyrics!" I laughed so hard at!! This movie took so many risks and certain things I can't believe they did and I loved it. The action was fantastic. I just wish we saw Marcus in retirement a little bit more rather than just what was in the trailers. But I reviews this movie on facebook and gave it a B+, It is the best Bad Boys and I will for sure be seeing it in theatres again and will be buying the dvd the day it comes out

Still need to see this, but I like the first two movies a lot. The second is my favorite just because of how utterly insane it is.
Poor Martin Lawrence, all he wanted to do is not f**ked up his wife's car. It broke some box office records in the month of January, a month that is full of nothing movies until we get to the spring and summer box office season. That's impressive.
I thought this film was lacking in action and the humour wasn't funny this movie felt very lazy over a decade after Bad Boys 2 and this is what comes very disappointed. Michael Bay would have made this film brilliant but it never happened, Bad Boys = 9/10 - Bad Boys 2 = 10/10 - Bad Boys For life = 2/10 very 😡 about this film.
Mean no disrespect to you Cody or the rest of your subs with my "review". LOVE your channel and enjoy your reviews whether I agree or not.... understand plenty of people really loved this movie. But for me.... words cannot say how much I HATED this piece of sh-t. I understand since its been so long they had to do the boring Lethal Weapon 4 "we're older, wiser, not as in shape" storyline but this movie screams ONLY MADE TO MAKE A BUCK OFF THE BACK OF LOYAL BB FANS! Martin Lawrence looks like HELL. Way too much Botox and so heavy- he has PLENTY of money for the best trainer Hollywood could offer, come on! Will Smith looks like he doesn't want to be here and is only there due to a contractual obligations. And with all that goes on in both's personal life in the movie it was one giant Lifetime Movie with some shooting thrown in. What they did to Joe Pantolino's character was unforgivable. The "young hip" cop crew they are teamed with was most likely put in to ramp up the action but backfires, only stressing how useless these characters have become (well, in THIS script at least) . Its as though the writer/s of this sequel hated Mike/Marcus and wanted to take every opportunity to turn them into the cast of Cocoon. Martin esp was played liked a geriatric 3 Stooge, with his pratfalls and missing eyeglasses etc. Oh, after Gabrielle Union in the last movie, both of Mike's semi love interests (past and future?) were not all that attractive. There are plenty of good looking actresses out there- what happened?? Was the casting dept as bad as the writers??
I'm sure I will get lots of angry comments and thumbs down for this long rambling review but BB is a beloved series for me and Mike and Marcus's characters deserved love and respect from the creators of this trash.

I thought it was great! What i didn’t like was the fast and furious vibe I was getting. The main villain was almost a super human assassin and like you said, the post credit scene was something I could have done without

So Gabrielle Union and the new young team are on the outside getting into a bunch of crazy shit, tryna dig up evidence to prove their innocence and set them free.
Meanwhile Mike & Marcus are in county awaiting trial while locked up with a bunch of people they put away and want em dead.
There will never be a real Bad Boys without Bayhem. The genius of this guy only becomes apparent when he is missing.
I missed this in the theater and I regret it so much more now, because it's easily my favorite in the series.
Cody, you should watch Color Out of Space! It's a fucking wild ride to say the least! It's Nick Cage and Lovecraft, what can you say more?

I have been worried it would feel a bit forced but I feel much more positive about it now.
Nice review Cody. Altough i have few issues with this movie. Some storyelements reguire majure leap of faith in audience+some comedy scenes take too long for my taste and Marcus says oh shit every ten minutes 😀 Take a shot every time you hear him swear and you are wasted half way in the movie. Bonuspoints for that Mexican lady. She was hot as f..k.

Was Anyone else loving this movie up until the whole “she’s my ex lover and that’s my son.” Twist towards the end??? I couldn’t stand that shit.
The whole movie is a fast & furious series rip off. The opening is the part 6 opening, specific scenes stolen, plot of part 8 with him having an unknown child, a beloved character is killed just to be brushed aside & have the killer now be a good guy which undoes everything plus it's like gemini man which has his clone trying to kill him to his son trying to do the same. Was still good just not original & definitely not better than the 1st two
One more question I wonder what Kevin's grandparents uncles and aunts cousins thought about him if he Evan had any

Ya the post credit scene was way to on the nose for me. If they went with the original ending I felt like that last scene would not of been as obvious but non to less I enjoyed the movie so much it's a small knit pick
