This is my second favorite in the Halloween franchise. I absolutely LOVE the opening with the nurse from the first movie. I really think the characters in this are great and you can't beat the ending of it. I don't understand people who don't like this one. To me it is perfect!!
@@LukeLovesRose he’s not complaining, just making a joke. Jesus Christ, and then you feel the need to call him retarded? You’re a f**king moron. Josh literally has the same hairstyle that he had in the faculty etc
I love this movie! I'm one of the people who considers the ending "canon", insomuch as I care about canon LOL. I love scary movies, right? But I'm a total scaredy cat, and I saw the original Halloween when I was maybe 7 and it scared me like crazy. When I saw this movie a few years later I stopped being afraid that every time I took out the trash at night, Michael was going to get me. I would just remind myself that she totally cut his head off and I was safe. It's also part of what made Resurrection less scary for me when it came out (again, total scaredy cat. A movie need not be /good/ to scare me). I was actually able to detach the way normal people who watch movies do and watch it while knowing none of it matters because H20 is the real deal. Only thing I kinda disagree with is the bit about the security guard's scenes. Yeah, they may not be necessary, but they work for me. I love how it starts out that his gf/wife thinks it's so stupid that he wants to write these things. And then as we continue to look in, she's started getting really into what he's written. IDK, just a little peek into his life that I enjoyed cutting some of the tension.
This was supposed to be my first Halloween movie in theaters when I was 5. But, I got sick. Have always loved this movie. I agree, I don't understand a lot of the hate for it.
The one thing everybody hates about H20 and I will ALWAYS defend is Chris Durand as Myers. The masks are weird but like you said I enjoy his betrayal. And H20 is my second favorite sequal in this franchise.
I've always been a fan of this movie, Josh Hartnett is a FANTASTIC actor who i wish was in more movies and tv shows these days. I love your passion for Horror and the Halloween franchise. Love these videos Cody! I agree about the third act and the ending of these movie. Super entertaining. Love the Physco fact. Dude i never noticed that about the masks thats awesome.
Are you glad they deviated away from the thorn trilogy or would you have rather had them mention it and Jamie? I heard there was a deleted scene where she is mentioned in front of Laurie and she kind of has a breakdown and is distraught over abandoning her. I don't think it was ever filmed but I believe it was on the drawing board at one point.
I know it’s a negative to some but I appreciate that the body count wasn’t high in this film. People forget the body count in the original wasn’t high either. It’s still one of the best sequels without having a ton of kills.
My favorite sequel hands down! Also I agree with you being set in Cali. I’m from Arizona and it never feels like fall here so H20 not having that feel is okay to me because I’m used to my falls being like that. Great review as always dude!
omg when you talked about the kid from Jumanji, you were so right. He was such a bizarre character in this movie. He just didn't belong with that girl talking about what they talked about.
Great review Cody! After watching all the Halloween films H20 is my second favorite film in this series as Laurie Strode becomes the hero we deserved against Michael. The ending was great but Resurrection ruined it lol!! My only complaint is Michael Myers masks are terrible imo.
every once in a while during these reviews, the graphic of Michael carrying Lynda catches my eye, but I don't see Lynda, I see Michael practicing for the ministry of silly walks. And I love it! Also, I LOVE H20 and it is the best ending! it was my first Halloween in theaters as well.
and that CGI mask wouldn't have been so bad if they only showed it in that brief second when the kid is startled, just cut the shot of Michael starring at him right out, and it wouldn't be quite the sloppy mess it turned out to be. "Is Michael glowing?"
My favorite of the series. Decent review, I agree with a lot of things you said. Some of the things that you dislike about the movie or things that I like. I do agree that the four mask thing is odd, but it doesn’t bother me that much. Agree 100% with this movie being nostalgia
I really enjoyed H20 it was my first experience of a Halloween film and I remember being told by my friend at school that it was 20 years after the original nightmare of what he done, and that excited me haha. But overall a very entertaining film and very jumpy and good characters and kills.
These leemis sessions is pure genius love it this needs to carry over in a fan film where Mr leach gets released on parole from Smith's Grove and comes back to haddonfield for the 40th anniversary. Where Myers shows up for intense final showdown against Cody!
I loved this movie. My second fav Halloween movie after 4. It was awesome having JLC back and I liked all the cast but I missed Donald Pleasence a lot. I loved the Michael/Laurie showdown and her ending Michael was badass. I liked the return to OG Halloween and getting rid of all the weirdness the series had become.I liked Josh Hartnett and Michelle Williams characters. I wish Jamie had lived and been played by DH had her reconnect with Laurie. I think the follow up should have focused on Josh Hartnett and Michelle Williams Characters. This is the first and only Halloween movie I saw in the theater so it holds a special place for me for that.
Love the Easter egg with your prisoner number, release date of OG Halloween movie, very well done my dude, great review, just got into a Halloween kick and wanted to rewatch your playlist
That girl hits him with a rock and he falls to the floor but Josh hits him multiple times and it does little to his hp LMFAO the nurse in the beginning put up a good fight too
How has nobody talked about codys acting in the Beginning of the videos its so good its not even that i love the beginning of the videos in this series its like a shot moive i love it good review
Even after 20 years, Jamie Lee Curtis said that seeing Michael Myers on set still scared her. LL Cool J's line, "Comb your hair!" was ad-libbed, inspired by Josh Hartnett's messy haircut. Jamie Lee Curtis considers the film a thank you note to her fans. Curtis: "Without that early career, I truly don't think I would have been an actor." The shortest "Halloween" movie in the series, with a run time of 86 minutes. Chris Durand - who plays Michael Myers - was born in 1963, the same year his character killed his older sister Judith. Michael's knife is a 14" Wusthof. First film in the series to be released in the summer. Every film since including Rob Zombie's followed this trend, with exception to Halloween (2018) which came out around Halloween. No official soundtrack was ever released for the film, but a compilation album by John Ottman was released in the United States and Germany under the Varese Sarabande label and includes the original score by Ottman and numerous other cuts.
Great Video Cody, found your channel thanks to people in the Slash N Cast Discord and i have subbed and watched a ton of your video's so far and enjoyed them all. I was wondering if you have seen the documentaries Never Sleep Again and Crystal Lake Memories and if so would you ever consider reviewing them? I would to love to hear your thoughts on them.
man the diffrences in Cody and Decker shedows reviews are insane in there thoughts on these films. that said Cody's are way more inline with my thinking. i find Cody to be very Fair
love this film, im a huge Sarah Michelle gellar fan so I was thrilled to see the girls watching scream 2 in one scene, my one problem with this is that if the scream films exist in the Halloween franchise then how do they explain them watching Halloween in scream one, small detail but has always bugged me, fantastic review though Cody
@@kennypham3856 that's fine if you like it but i just didn't care for H20 all that Much and here are reasons why i think it's overrated. 1. Michael's Mask. When i see Chris Durand's Michael Myers i don't see Michael Myers i see someone dressed up like Michael Myers. The mask looks really stupid and you see his eyes all the time throughout the film. His mask in Return of Michael Myers wasn't good but at least you didn't see his eyes. 2. They never explain where Michael has been for 20 years. In Return of Michael Myers it made sense cause they say he has been in a coma for 10 years and in 2018 it made sense cause they say he was caught and locked up for 40 years. 3. The Music is not very good because in some scenes the use music tracks from Scream 4. The Final Fight feels kinda goofy anf unintentionally hilarious such as when Laurie hits Michael on the head with a Fire Extinguisher. There are some things i did like in H20 Like the scenes in the School, The scene with Jamie Lee Curtis and Janet Leigh (The car in that scene was a nice little reference to Psycho) and of course the ending where Laurie Beheads Michael. Sadly it was ruined by Resurrection. If you enjoyed H20 fine good for you but for me it's just not that good. I prefer Return of Michael Myers and 2018 over H20
Still think they nerfed michael too much, going from parts 4& 6(i know it's a different timeline) but that michael would have made laurie think again before going back into that school, been harder to defeat, and racked up more brutal kills lol
Jamie Lee Curtis was exceptional in H2O. I absolutely loved it & any of the negative really didn`t bother me - get over it But as you said Cody H20 was the ultimate finale to Mike Myers & so satisfying Josh Hartnett has been off the scene for quite number of years now, amazing they didn`t rewrite his character into the forthcoming 2018 Halloween also to reboot his career cause lets face it, the main objective of H20 & Halloween2018 was/is to kick-start Jamie Lee Curtis career over & over again cause lets face it, when was Jamie Lee Curtis on the big screen last? Tanx so much Cody for doing these Halloween specials.
H20 is one of my top favorite Halloween movies, and to me, is the definitive ending for the brother/sister storyline. Great job on this review man, loved it.
I loved watching this movie when I was younger but yeah I never noticed the CGI mask until I was older. I still don't know how I feel about the eyes but I see what you mean. Curtis is amazing for returning to this franchise. Their fight is awesome you can tell she's petrified but she's determined compared to Laurie's last outing. I like that we got to spend time with the characters and even Nurse Chambers at the start their scenes were entertaining and you got a feel for those characters too. Halloween at its strongest, I give a crap what happens to the characters. I never could when it came to Friday 13th characters. I prefer suspense over high body counts of people I don't care about. Nice review!
The intro to H2O shows a pair of scissors with blood on them. The only time scissors are used is when Jamie stabs her mom, and Rachel is killed by Michael.
Best opening yet Cody when you lose your temper it's really good, you do shrug it off a little quick though. But I really enjoyed it absolutely cool brother
Dang! I remember being 8 years old scrapping up quarters and dimes just to watch this movie in theaters with my cousins and the older friends. Time flies!!!
Did you know John ottman originally scored all of Halloween h20 but later in post production they decided to use parts of his music in different areas like reuse it in different places and half of the music was Marco Beltrami‘s score from scream and scream 2 and mimic and where to found the original John ottman score for h20 is in the Pertait of terror soundtrack you might listen to them, (Edited)
really like this movie and think its under appreciated. For my "canon" you have Halloween, Halloween II, and H2O. I like Halloween 4 a lot but think the three above make the best complete story for Michael and of course Laurie.
To be fair, this film did feel like an R-rated episode of almost any WB show from the late 90s like Dawson's Creek and Beverly Hills 90210 but with some elements of Scream mixed in.
H20 is such shit in my opinion. I dislike it so much. More than resurrection. It has its good scene but ugh. I hate the score, I hate how it feels like a scream movie . Edit: I agree with your positives on this movie. Maybe I need to rewatch it...idk
Reece Campten Myers seriously rewatch it, I am not getting this “it feels like a scream movie” AT ALL. I really like H2O. Maybe it’s because it was my first horror and Halloween movie that I ever saw in a theater and I have some nostalgia eyes .
I love how after Laurie chops Michael’s head off, the original theme kicks in, not any redone version made for this movie.
I have such a nostalgia for H20. We had it on VHS & I would watch it every Halloween after the original one.
Distressed Mermaid I do the same thing.

This is my second favorite in the Halloween franchise. I absolutely LOVE the opening with the nurse from the first movie. I really think the characters in this are great and you can't beat the ending of it. I don't understand people who don't like this one. To me it is perfect!!
It's to much like scream
For me i dont like it because it's flat and boring
4 more days left for the new movie coming out.
Peanuts Gamer 4 more days till Halloween Halloween sliver shamrock
Josh Hartnett had bed head the whole freakin movie!!!
Josh Hartnett had bed head through the first 3 years of his career lol
That's the most retarded thing to complain about a movie.
@@LukeLovesRose he’s not complaining, just making a joke. Jesus Christ, and then you feel the need to call him retarded? You’re a f**king moron. Josh literally has the same hairstyle that he had in the faculty etc
@@LukeLovesRose r u ok?
@@Danny__Noble Huh? I didnt call The Dude anything
I vote for Cody Leach to play "The Shape" in any future Halloween films
That would be awesome Tim
Wtf is “the shape”
@@KD_SmooveIt's Michael Myers' alternate name. He's called "The Shape" because of his lack of humanity. He is a person of pure evil.
I Don't even think it's him I think it's the music and the mask it didn't feel like Halloween it felt like scream and micheal eyes was too big
Who did Chris Durand betray?
This was my first Halloween movie in the theaters as well. I still remember the gasps at the end when Laurie whacks off his head.
As a die hard Halloween fan this film is the ending. My thoughts exactly Cody Resurrection never happened keep up the great reviews man!
*The first Halloween movie I ever saw and is one of my favorites*
I will always love the 1978 Halloween more.
I think I saw 2 first. Parts of one because I was scared.lol and this one was definitely the first one I bought
U go so in depth that these twenty minute reviews are so worth it
Is that drumdums voice doing that narrating from the beginning???? Big fan of both y'all can't go a day without watch both y'all videos. Awesome cameo
Yes
That opening bit of the last few sessions being stricken from the record was gold.
23:10
The funniest shit i have seen all day😂
That was a perfect impression 😂
That made me laugh his face though while making the eyes lmao
The part where he gets kicked in the balls lmfaooo
omg when you talked about the kid from Jumanji, you were so right. He was such a bizarre character in this movie. He just didn't belong with that girl talking about what they talked about.
I loved LL Cool J on that sitcom where he played a retired football player
🖕
You mean In The House
That tv show was awesome
I'm a life-long Halloween fan and I loved this movie, thanks for another great review Cody!
The Intro's are gold.
Great Reveiw.
Great review! I'm a Jason girl so I won't comment on Myers but I really couldn't sit through anything after H2. Those opening monologues are great!
Katie Sivak wow you don’t like orignal
@@MichaelMyers66793 They never said they didn't like the original it's just not their favourite.
I'm loving these intros more and more keep up the great work 🙂👍
Love the Easter egg with your prisoner number, release date of OG Halloween movie, very well done my dude, great review, just got into a Halloween kick and wanted to rewatch your playlist
That girl hits him with a rock and he falls to the floor but Josh hits him multiple times and it does little to his hp LMFAO the nurse in the beginning put up a good fight too
A rock packs more of a punch then just your fist.
I never knew about the use of the car from psycho, that is so cool. Top review man! Love this movie
Man I really do enjoy your content it's truly excellent.
I always wondered what was up with the mask in the food disposal scene, never realised it was CGI
Just began watching this again tonight and can anybody tell me why Nurse Marion has a framed photo of Dr. Loomis??? lol
How has nobody talked about codys acting in the Beginning of the videos its so good its not even that i love the beginning of the videos in this series its like a shot moive i love it good review
Clicked on video as soon as I saw it couldn't wait for an upload
Even after 20 years, Jamie Lee Curtis said that seeing Michael Myers on set still scared her.
LL Cool J's line, "Comb your hair!" was ad-libbed, inspired by Josh Hartnett's messy haircut.
Jamie Lee Curtis considers the film a thank you note to her fans. Curtis: "Without that early career, I truly don't think I would have been an actor."
The shortest "Halloween" movie in the series, with a run time of 86 minutes.
I like how it used the Scream music and the Gellar clip too
It just occurred to me this movie came out three years after Curse of Michael Myers, which is crazy to me since they feel so far apart.
I love the intros on all of these videos they're great
man the diffrences in Cody and Decker shedows reviews are insane in there thoughts on these films. that said Cody's are way more inline with my thinking. i find Cody to be very Fair
Been watching your videos for months and love them keep up the good work Cody
love this film, im a huge Sarah Michelle gellar fan so I was thrilled to see the girls watching scream 2 in one scene, my one problem with this is that if the scream films exist in the Halloween franchise then how do they explain them watching Halloween in scream one, small detail but has always bugged me, fantastic review though Cody
Love the film. The only problems I have with the film is the mask changes and the Scream-like music.
H20 is overrated not as good as people make it out to be. I prefer Return of Michael Myers and 2018 over H20.
@@josefengelhardt2767 My 2 cents. I don't think it's overrated at all!
3. The Music is not very good because in some scenes the use music tracks from Scream
4. The Final Fight feels kinda goofy anf unintentionally hilarious such as when Laurie hits Michael on the head with a Fire Extinguisher.
There are some things i did like in H20
Like the scenes in the School, The scene with Jamie Lee Curtis and Janet Leigh (The car in that scene was a nice little reference to Psycho) and of course the ending where Laurie Beheads Michael. Sadly it was ruined by Resurrection.
If you enjoyed H20 fine good for you but for me it's just not that good. I prefer Return of Michael Myers and 2018 over H20
This is my favourite Halloween movie. It isn’t the best Halloween movie but it’s definitely my favourite.
Still think they nerfed michael too much, going from parts 4& 6(i know it's a different timeline) but that michael would have made laurie think again before going back into that school, been harder to defeat, and racked up more brutal kills lol
Yeah micheal was weak
Got knocked down way too much. Seemed too human.
Really loving this review series Cody 👍💯
H20 was the first Halloween I ever seen....the ice skate to the face freaked me out as a kid lol
The intro to H2O shows a pair of scissors with blood on them. The only time scissors are used is when Jamie stabs her mom, and Rachel is killed by Michael.
why do you have so little subs and get such little views, your videos are honestly so good
All in due time
H20 is definitely my favorite tv movie to watch around this time but if I had to pop in a blue ray the original and part 4!
I love your reviews I can't wait to watch them all for other movies
They also play a little snippet of the “psycho” theme when Janet Leigh walks to the car, which I love
Best opening yet Cody when you lose your temper it's really good, you do shrug it off a little quick though. But I really enjoyed it absolutely cool brother
Dude..my favorite review..got to see this in drive in year after its release
I love these opening segments!
7:13-7:16 you have no idea how much I laughed 😂😂😂😂😂
My work here is done
H20 is such shit in my opinion. I dislike it so much. More than resurrection. It has its good scene but ugh. I hate the score, I hate how it feels like a scream movie .
Edit: I agree with your positives on this movie. Maybe I need to rewatch it...idk
Reece Campten Myers seriously rewatch it, I am not getting this “it feels like a scream movie” AT ALL. I really like H2O. Maybe it’s because it was my first horror and Halloween movie that I ever saw in a theater and I have some nostalgia eyes .
@@cleobinx There are definitely some Scream-like vibes to it.
Your reviews are awesome brotha. Favorite reviewer for sure!
