23:06 speaking in my own defense, I would argue that a man who can go wild camping, and wait for plumbed facilities at which to relieve himself, is a man in complete control of his bowels!
Beautiful quaint villages. I am loving the skid risk sign strategically placed near the public lavatories 🤣 Good watch again, boys, the sunset looked fabulous over the sea. Obviously, it was a well-deserved breakfast . At least you found out how robust your new best friend is Mat . Not as reliable as Ross! Poor chap having to do those extra Miles for you😊
@@matryderadventures So nice to hear, it is a beautiful country for sure. I lived in Calgary, Alberta for a spell but was born and have spent most of my years in Nova Scotia. :) I have to admit, living close to the ocean is a wonderful thing and missed it dearly when in Calgary. :)
I cannot say with certainty, but I believe that anguished sound you heard was the cry of a farmer lamenting his decision to vote Brexit, you hear them all over the countryside these days. Safe travels and good wishes for your journey.
That beach camp spot looks fantastic. Did anyone pass you at night? I've settled on the pedders way for 2024. Such a nice relaxing ride. I always take a homemade curry with men for the 1st night.
It was a great spot. We didn't see it hear from anyone. It's a great ride. Very interesting and a good length. A curry is a good idea for the cold nights. Cheers 👍
Once you reach the beach at Hunstanton you turn right and push through the sand for a bit, maybe about 200 yards or so. You'll see the raised grassy dunes. We camped there. They're easy to find.
I rode the pedders way thetford to holme and back a couple of years ago. Wild camped at castle acre. Fantasic ride expect for the sand getting into everything that turned. Lovely route and a really nice forst bikepacking adventure. Im thinking of riding peddes way in 2024 again. With a beach camp Brings back fun memories. And that McDonald's was a welcome stop.
It is a nice route. We found a perfect camp spot at Hunstanton. I'd like to stay there again. That McDonald's is definitely placed well on the route. I hope you make it out there again. Cheers 👍
Thanks. Yes, the Muntjac is an invasive species. Originally from China I believe. They're everywhere. You can hear them barking in most woodlands. Thanks for watching.
I know this is a bit aged....but thank you Derek for figuring and commenting 'Muntjac'....my Google-Fu was failing me. Your comment allowed me to look it up. 😊 What a crazy invasive species. Mat and Ross....great video as always. Is this where "I'll see you in the morning" was coined?
Really enjoyed your adventure, but one thing is puzzling me. How did you defy the laws of physics and manage to watch the sun setting over the sea from the east coast?
That is a very good question! I only thought about it having read your comment, but Holme-next-the-Sea is at the most westerly point of the North Norfolk Coast, and therefore there is sea out to the west as the coast tucks in before curving up and around towards Lincolnshire. We noticed in the evening that we could actually see the Lincolnshire coast (Skegness I think) from where we were camped on the beach. Thank you for watching.
@@matryderadventures yeah, not a bad vid so far, I live about a mile from Little Cressingham and have 'done' the Peddars Way with my grandson - the White Horse wasn't a bad pub, but numbers dwindled hence it's demise

RUclips gold, chaps.
Absolutely!! I'm glad you agree!
Great ride lads cracking route and that breakfast 😊👍
Cheers. The breakfast was exceptional!!!

I didn't notice the sign 🤣. I could have ridden back to collect the van but he's much younger than me and that's his own fault.
Of course we want all the gold left in, it is hilarious! Thanks for sharing your overnight on the beach, terrific camp out! :) :)
Thanks 👍👍 We'll leave all in!!! I'm in Canmore as I type, happy Canada Day 🇨🇦🇨🇦

Great video Mat, and Ross, looks like a nice route.
Last video before The Big Ride 🚴♂️👍
Cheers Tony. It was a good trip. I'm sat here shaking with anxiety as I type. I fly tomorrow morning!! Wish me luck...
Great trip lads looking fwd to the next one 👍🏻👍🏻🚴🚴🍻🍻
Thanks. It was a great trip. Highly recommended. Thanks for following along!

Ahh! I did see a farmer nearby....now I know 🤣. Thanks for all your support (a true regular commenter). It's much appreciated.

Hi Matt, if not already asked 100 times, are you Vloging your Divide adventure....please say yes?
Yes! I'll be vlogging as I go, hopefully uploading every Thursday. It's amazing to know that people will be following along. Cheers 👍👍
That noise was a cross squirrel. I have seen them doing it😊 honestly
A cross squirrel 🐿️🐿️. I absolutely believe you..you have taken a special interest in the work squirrels.
I have indeed. I ❤️ them
Now want to ride this route for the connivence of McD. Not cycled in this region before reminds me a bit of the New Forest.
It's a great ride. It is a bit like the New Forest. Cheers and thanks for watching 👍
6:46 - yes, song stones as way markers, there are 4 of these along the path
Nice ride and video. Muntjac - I had to look that one up. Invasive species to parts of the UK I guess?

Maybe it was. That ride feels like a long long time ago now.
Weird bird sounds lol. I have a bird around here that sounds like a frog 😂
There are some crazy sounding birds. I've never heard one that sounds like a frog.

at 7:42 - the White Horse closed years ago and as for a village shop, the hasn't been a village shop there at least for ever
It's a shame these old pubs close down. Thanks.
I think the White Horse was at Great Cressingham. I used to go there in the 70s but the Windmill at Gt Cressingham was my favorite.
at 4:25 - that was the A11 you crossed, the Peddars Way is nowhere near the A12
Yes I realised that in hindsight, I actually just got the names confused, I did know the A12 was nowhere near. Thanks for watching.

Thanks. I really enjoyed hiking in 2018. I may do it again at some point.
