    I still have a 2003 Nissan 350Z; even after I bought a Cayman S, I couldn't get myself to sell this car. It's given me Toyota Camry reliability with BMW performance and handling. I don't think i'll ever get rid of this car, I guess we lucked out with the G35/350z, I originally bought this car while I was in the military, simply because of its looks. I still have the infamous 3rd gear grind (I shift slowly as a workaround) and have had the rear bumper re-painted multiple times. I replaced the exhaust due to rusting from Washington winters, and replaced the stock suspension with Bilstein PSS-10s. One of the best ownership experiences I've ever had.

      +Michael Alejandro just be aware that Nissan uses cheap interior and exterior paint. All that painted stuff inside the car if touched enough times will rub off.

    Great video Noel, appreciate the love you have for the G! Got 138K on my '05 G35 6MT and still loving it, despite similar issues you experienced. Original owner. Here's some of the issues i share with ya: My entire black paint peeled like it was sunburn (no garage). Window issue fell randomly too, its NOT the motor. You need to REPROGRAM the window by opening up the door panel and pushing a black button. My door locks failed occasionally (only during hot weather which is opposite of you). My clutch pedal sticks occasionally when its Hot outside. Kept having to reposition the clutch with my foot. replaced my clutch and clutch master, but didnt solve the issue. My Leather has torn gashes on Both seats. Rattle noises everywhere, especially my window at high speeds. My beautiful quartz clock failed and cant get it to operate despite replacing fuse and checking wire harness. I also cant get the navigational electronic compass guidance direction to work either. My driver side door cant stay open and always closes on its own, occasionally shutting itself on my leg. Some of the glue is getting undone in various areas, and my headlights cant get restored back to clear no matter how hard i try. All in all, despite all these issues, LOVE THE CAR and will never sell this baby! Sure this list seems long, but the reasons why I love the care is even longer!! All cars will eventually breakdown and have issues here and there, but like any first love, you learn to live with its flaws because overall this Baby has grown a sentimental place in your heart that you won't want to live without. I've driven in the snow, taken to the track many times, and have typical mods, and am always looking to do more to maintain this beauty. G Luck with your WRX, thats an awesome vehicle too!

      +Kelvin Chang Dude thanks for watching. You understand where I have been with this car. If I had a garage and was not living in apartments i would have kept this thing right inside there. It was an amazing vehicle and a great experience. Never once broke down on me. TONS of annoyances but that comes with a car that is over 10+ years old. These videos will keep it alive in memory. Im sure the guy I sold it to will easily get it up to 250k miles

    I owned a 2005 G35x, and I drove it for 130k, with no problem. I ruff ride the car, and it still perform well up to today. The Power and the responsiveness of the car is incomparable to any other cars or new G series. I had a few friends bought the newest one, but the power and pull are not the same. I love these series. the car is reliable and very very low maintenance.

    I had a G35- I loved it too. I had the 4 door sedan. Unfortunately the new models aren't as good. Many have CVT and they just cheapened everything. There were rumors that Nissan will kill the brand.. I gave it to my son and he eventually sold it but I loved it. Wish I could buy another. Now I drive a Mercedes 2012 C350 Coupe- one of the best cars Mercedes ever made.

    I had the same door lock issues you had. I replaced my door lock actuators with $5 replacements and they work great. I also had a window issue - replaced the motor, calibrated it, and I've had no issues since. My stereo's got some issues. I believe it's the BOSE amp. The problem seems less frequent when I make an effort to turn off all systems before shutting down the car. My spoiler's clear coat is just peeling away. Pretty annoying. Good detailed video!

    Had same problem with my doorlocks about 5 years ago. Took it dealer, they told me that when the car is in the sun for a long time they tend to wear and eventually break. Dealer did change it for me after warranty was expired :)) very nice of them. had same 04 ...

      Denis Ilyayev O man dude you are so lucky. I doubt any dealer would do that for me. I have had no luck with them to the point where i just have to find the time to do it myself eventually

    • @denisilyayev1878

      noel3286 Yeah I didn't expect them to do it. They said it was very common problem, especially in climates with a lot of sunshine ( I'm in LA). Something about the electric mechanism that moves the lock, nothing to do with the lock itself. I forgot the details, it was long ago. But the service GM at the dealership hooked me up like crazy by doing it free. Don't have the G anymore though (( Do miss it

  • @Xeritium

    lol, found myself nodding at just about all of this haha. front bumper, rust, gas gauge, shift knob tearing, the good ol seat tears. my driver side door won't lock or unlock with the fab or door button, my passenger does it on and off. my windows are like yours, cept my windows stay up with auto, but i do have to hold the driver side window up for a bit longer than the passenger to get them both up. after watching your original vid about the G, I picked one up. Not let down at all, though those electronics are a pain haha.

    Enjoyed the review. I have an 05 rev-up with the sports package. Right now I have under 69k miles on it. Fortunately/Unfortunately I had the oil consumption problem and had the engine replaced at about 44K under warranty. I haven't had any of the electrical issues you've talked about. The beige interior has been the worst, and I have a rust spot on the roof. Over all I would say my biggest issue has been this white pearl paint. I bought this car used in '06 with under 10k miles on it. For me to hit 150k miles I would have to keep this car another 10 years so maybe a Vaydor kit and a couple of snails under the hood will fix my paint and interior issues??? LOL It's been a good car.

    • @noel3286
      @noel3286  8 лет назад

      +Niytmagex3 The clear coat was the first thing to go for me. I was blown away too. I took so much care, washing waxing, and cleaning and it just could not hold up. Once it started going it just spread too. There was no stopping it. Such a great car to be spoiled with bad paint. Killed me. I sold it now. Me and my friends ended up doing a black wrap on the roof to cover the paint problems. It just got to excessive. The wrap looked really good though. I experimented with a few things. Plasti dipped the roof too and that did not look bad at all as well. If you do a plasti dip black roof on your pearl white that would look awesome. Plasti dip is extremely inexpensive also. Good luck man and it will easily hit that 150k if you want it to. 10 years is a long time lol. Thanks for watching!

    Its kinda weird with your clutch pedal issue, mine is backwards. In winter its nice and responsive, in summer heat it get sloshy. Good to see you made it to 150k. How much did you spend on maintenance (engine, trans, etc?) I'm at 122k on my 05 and hope to hit 150k in a few years. Thanks for the video.

    • @noel3286
      @noel3286  8 лет назад

      +eiji81 I barely spent anything on the maintenance of this car. Brakes, rotors, and oil were the only things I purchased consistently in the 5 years I owned it. The usual wear and tear items. I never needed a clutch. Felt fine, no slippage till the day I sold it. I also didnt beat on it hard. My commute is mostly highway miles (so cruise control 6th gear mostly). That clutch pedal issue was mind boggling though. I have read around and your summer heat clutch pedal issue is way more common then mine. I could never figure it out. Im pretty sure I needed to replace the clutch master/slave cylinder. Their was no clutch fluid leaking which I was expecting..so odd. It would be amazing in the fall summer spring season. Winter was terrible. Car is so temperamental and that is literal (temperature mental, window motors, door locks everything would act up in different seasons) I think overall though I spent more money on the cosmetic stuff trying to keep it clean since i didnt have it garage kept. I sold it at 157k and it literally had another 80k in that engine as long as the new owner maintains it. Very reliable to my standards. I could work on it myself and it never once broke down on me. I got 5k for it so it was a nice down payment for my Subaru WRX. Thanks for watching!

    the leather seats do crack and rip over time. I put some real good sheepskin covers on mine and it's not a problem now. They duct taped the rips before installing them. they were 300.00 for the pair. Worth every penny. The main thing is the stereo. I put a Clarion in with a USB connection. It's always a jam session when I get in my car. a 97 I30.

    I've got the same year and color except it's a sedan. Black interior and maintain it with leather conditioner every 1-2 weeks. Leather is still supple with no wear. Take the time to condition your leather! Engine runs like gangbusters, but I did just have to replace the steering rack. Only have 55K miles on it. Can't wait to get it to 100K. Absolutely love driving it.

      +BrikDivit Awesome man. Yea I put a lot of miles on this beauty and rocks hitting the paint and sun beating down on the body were inevitable. I have no garage and 32 mile commute so the weather was slowly eating away at the leather and body every day for 5 years. I really took care of her as best as I could and the leather still started cracking and body rusting at around 110k. Car was amazing to own. Timeless design and AMAZING sound. Thanks for watching man!

    HI :)
    the e92 m3 is a really good choice, but if you can't afford the e92 m3 i would suggest the e92 335i or the 335is over the e46 m3, it got twin turbos and with simple and cheap jb4 mod you can reach pretty good numbers competing even with the new m4 and you'll get a plenty of low end torque which doesn't require revving it so much to get all the torque

    • @noel3286
      @noel3286  9 лет назад

      LOUI J i have been keeping an eye out for a good 335is or a e92 m3. the e92 v8 might be a bit to gas hungry for my 30 mile commute to and from work, but I love the way they look. The 335i i have heard is a great platform but they have some reliability issues with fuel pumps and stuff as well. I was thinking of just sticking with the m's with the naturally aspirated engine and since the e46 is in my price range i was going to go that route. But if I could get a e92 at this time O TRUST ME lol it would be in my garage over the e46. I know i got to keep a look out for the subframe problems on the e46 and some vanos stuff

The color of this car (twilight blue) I barely saw anywhere so I had to get it. I really miss it but it treated me well for the 5 years I had it. deftones26 deftones26 Atleast you could find your problem! Mine likes to randomly die on the road. Complete random and only happens once every few weeks, I let it sit for 20 minutes and it will fire up again and drive the rest of the day without issue. Not one person or shop has found the issue. That said I wish I had some of the simple issues like with the door locks and windows (mine have been perfect knock on wood) Already had to put a trans in it (bought it at an auction with a blown trans, didnt find out it was blown till I drove it home and had no 5th and a half ass manual mode that worked sometimes) paid its an 05 Sedan with an auto (base model with no bose system, spoiler or awd) Id say I sorta lucked out on the price though, only paid $3,000 for mine, put another k down for used trans and install. The used trans is being extremely sluggish shifting slower than my old trans with blown out 5th(new S matic fluid and filter). My main complaint about the car is the random shutdowns it goes into. If it wasnt for that id be putting all sorts of goodies on and in it. But im tipsy on selling it because of the random shut offs... Mainly scared it might be wiring harness related.

    • @DillonTurner395

      mine is the maf aswell but for a diff reason, my maf overheats cause its placement above the exhaust manifold due to the custom intake that was on the car before I got it. I can rotate the maf housing around but I have to fix its harness first (those wires are hanging by threads)

    For the most part, I love my G35 (I came from a e46). I've had mines for 2 years. I get a lot of compliments, my interior is black and yeah, I had the driver seat professionally reupholstered in that section with a flawless correction. The stock exhaust sound really turns heads. I'm approaching 145k miles and the cars is starting to give me problems. All the Cam/crank sensors gave out, theirs a squeaking sound while driving (it drives me cashews), one of the D2R headlight bulbs wont stay in the socket, the famous seat belt issue is a nightmare and the trunk doesn't open electronically anymore but after that, the engine has been pretty solid.
    The best thing about this car is the exterior body shape, stock exhaust notes, and durable engine. The worst thing in my opinion is the constant visits to the gas station....16mpg.

  • @sahar1usa

    What is that you mention about the bumper, how to cover it?
    Are you connecting your mp3 to the central sound system of the G35 in your car? if so, how?
    The gas gadget usually is not accurate but it really depends on the weather, if its colder, you need to drive it for a mile then it would go back up.
    The shift still looks same in mine, it is automatic & using the cup holder too :))

    • @noel3286
      @noel3286  8 лет назад

      +lili M you can get a bumper cover. Its called a clear bra. Better to get it professionally done. They really help with protecting your paint from rock chips and debris. I would just do the front bumper though because they tend to sometimes cause some paint damage on metal since the heat is baking it.
      I connect my mp3 player through the tape deck. They have tape adapters that have aux cables coming out of them. The g35 only had a tape player up to 04 i think. Saved me money for sure instead of having to buy a full head unit to get that Aux support

As long as it looks decent exterior wise and drives well might be worth it at the most $3500. You can easily get 250k miles out of these cars with good maintenance. Engine is rock solid. Mine was pulling great at 155k still. Good luck man!

      I never loved snow till I got the G, I drift the f out of it. I don't use 93 just regular gas, I gotta change the cavaliers cover gasket and and some suspension parts, I never had any work done to the engine rather than changing the plugs. I just love it. 250K

    Hey, Im looking into getting a used car and my options are between a 2004 Infiniti G35x AWD with 117k Miles and a 2009 Mazda 6 with 81k Miles, V6 Engine. Now I like the Infinity because.. it speaks for itself, plus I like the "classic feel since it is 2016. I was wondering if there are any expensive fixes I have to worry about for Infinity and/or if I should just go with the Mazda ? Also how is the speed/acceleration ?

      Hey Christian, as you said the infiniti is going to be more luxurious then the mazda. Its a more comfortable car with clean simple styling and its AWD to get you through some tough conditions if need be. The infiniti since it has over 100k miles are known to have electrical issues. These things can be expensive depending on where you take it to get fixed because it is considered luxury but there is SOOOO much information on the internet with people owning this car that you should have know problem fixing it yourself if your willing to put in the work. Plus there is more aftermarket community now since its been out so long. So when you go look at it make sure to check all automatic locks, windows, seat adjusters/heated seats, headlights/taillights, head unit, AC/heat. Really dig in there. The mazda on the other hand is a more simple car interior wise, less electronics, with a more modern styling. Things are going to be cheaper for it for sure. Both cars are about the same 0-60 of about 6 seconds so they will feel very similar in terms of speed. Hope this helps and good luck!. Thanks for watching!

    my 06 coupe has 112,000 and since it reached 100k, everytime when I change oil , it is synthetic. no major problems yet and the leather seats seems to be torn up slowly.

      Nice man...like to hear a G surviving up over the 100k mark. They are great cars. Interior is a bit cheap but the engine will run till the end of time. Keep giving it that good synthetic blood. Thanks for watching!

    Going to try and find one of these this spring/summer. It's going to be my toy/2nd car so I'll probably get a higher mileage one and fix it up over a couple years. I've had mustangs, monte carlos and want to try something new and different.

      shopping now, 6 speeds damn near make the asking price 50% higher. I could probably just get one now if I go auto, some good deals out here in the Atlanta area on those. Must wait til may when I move in my larger house though.

    Getting a clear bra is a big mistake. My 3M clear bra ended up cracking and then started pulling off all my paint on my 2004 g35. I ended up buying a new bumper just because it looked so bad.

      Ventural Support damnnn thanks for the advice man...i would have though that it would have protected the paint...a friend of mine had one on his bmw and it just seemed like such a simple method for paint protection. How long did yours last for?

    • @Ventural1
      @Ventural1 9 лет назад

      noel3286 It lasted about three years before it started peeling off. I tried for months to get 3M and the installer (autosupershield.com) to fix it before warranty expired, but they never returned any of my phone calls or emails. I ended up peeling off the clear bra from the fenders and hood, but some of the paint came off the car in the process. The bumper was completely replaced.

    Do you have a link to that little patch

      I searched Amazon and i remember the company was called masta plasta. Maybe they have improved their product since this was years ago when i bought it. I also would not have used the whole patch like i did years ago. I probably could have gotten away with cutting it down and making it cleaner. Here is the link to the beige one www.amazon.com/MastaPlasta-Self-Adhesive-Patch-Leather-Repair/dp/B01H64JMAQ/ref=psdc_12897141_t3_B01H64JKDK
