    Remember, you can never check your oil level enough. Every 500 or 1,000 miles you should be checking. Especially, if you drive the G hard.

    • @King-ql2kb
      @King-ql2kb 6 лет назад

      Okay, so like i totally understand what you mean that g owner should be checking their oil all the time since its known to have a high oil consumption, I was lucky enough to put oil in before it goes out last week cause i haven't checked it in a while, but like when i go start my car, when i have my keys in the on position i can see a engine oil icon, but it never lights up when im low on engine oil, is it something infiniti make?

      I remember I put Lucas lube in my oil. My check engine light came on and car started acting crazy. I use to use Hyperlube and never had a problem. But cool thing is my mechanic is Thatdudeinblue mechanic and hes the best out there.

      Completely debatable as once I drop my 10W30 in my VQ, I am good until it's time to change it.But then again, my DE isn't a Rev-Up although I'm making 463 to the crank. And yes, I drive "the builded VQ" pretty hard from time to time (i.e., Autocross, Drift Nirvana, etc).

I've kept up with maintenance and never had to replace anything except fluids, tires, brakes, oil, sparkplugs. The window motor, door lock regulator, seat controls and ac/ radio head unit repair were the only malfunctions. Everything else is still original.

Got it at 76k and now has 118k. Always replaced the oil with Mobil 1 synthetic 5w-30. I have driven new cars (2016 maxima, Altima, 2014 335i, 2016 Camry, 2014 Corolla) and my car drives smoother, shifts better (besides the maxima cvt), also just purchased a 2015 q50 sport which is a good car but I enjoy my g35 more. I will be getting a radiator flush in a month, and transmission flush. Solid cars - I do wish the interior quality was better (serious need)

    I bought a motordyne plenum spacer and a 75MM throttle body. I was planning to put them on right away and the tune would have to wait since I’m running a bit of a tight schedule for it. (It’ll be an e tune) I’m at 151k miles almost 152. Should I be alright running w the mods? Because I was gonna do these sorts of maintenance and install an oil catch can right after I install both engine mods.

    Hey motordyne I have a question, I’m experiencing some type of problems with my g35. I just got a brand new exedy clutch. Before I had some disengagement issues so the car wasn’t fully disengaging. So then I adjusted the pedal and it ended up working and fixed the solution but now I also found out that if I push in the clutch it doesn’t disengage right away. It’ll take maybe a second or so for the rpms to drop after pushing in the clutch so I can’t shift until that happens otherwise I’ll grind. You have any ideas what the problem could be?

    • @MotordyneG35
      @MotordyneG35  6 лет назад

      Adjusting the pedal is not what you need to do. When you replaced the clutch, did you replace the slave cylinder? My video on doing it here........ruclips.net/video/jHpRnibzmjo/видео.html
      What year is your G35? How many miles? Have you ever changed the gearbox oil before? Late model 05's and after got the CD009 gearbox which has stronger syncro. My gear box is a CD009 and not a CD001. Old syncros take longer to engage gears, so you have to shift slower to allow them to engage, which is a sign your syncros are going out. Most likely 3rd gear is going out for you? ? ?

    Question. I have a 04 350z and I was going to do the same set up without the coils and intake ,but I’m at 167k miles. Should I start modding it now or buy a new motor first or what would be the best option for me ?

      If your car is generally in good reliable shape, your mileage shouldnt be an issue for similar mods. If you wanna spend $$$$$ on a worked engine, race it for money or buy something better! The price alone for some of the performance engine parts could buy you another car!

    Did your upstream 02 sensors go out when you had OEM catalytic converters or when you switched to MD Art pipes?
    I got two codes
    P2a03
    P2a00 a month or so after. Installing Art pipes could it be the art pipes or just the 12 year old 02 sensors gone bad, My 2006 G has 105,xxx

      I had test pipes before MD ART pipes. The ART pipes I put on at 117k and the sensors went bad at 130k miles in 2015. It is most likely your sensors old age.
      My codes when my 02 sensors went bad:
      Found: 2 codes!
      **********
      P1283,A/F Sensor Lean shift (Bank 2 Sensor 1)

    • @ahumm8280
      @ahumm8280 6 лет назад +1

      mistuh Christian your car's ECM is looking for changes in the exhaust air/fuel byproduct before and after the cats. Except you dont have any cats! Test pipes and art pipes, they do not and are incapable performing the duties of catalytic converters. Get some high flow cats and new oxygen senors. Your problem will be solved. Those parts are for racing applications or are only for use in states that dont legally require emmision control devices!

Just do the typical car maintenance, and that baby will continue to pull like it did years ago, maybe not exactly as hard, but you get the point. Just don't be a jackass all the time and it's a damn good reliable car.

Also how many man hours would you guestimate you put into servicing yourself? This gives a paper pusher some idea of total parts, maintenance and labor. It could be not as good. The internet thanks you.

    I once owned a Vauxhall Vectra ( the uncoolest car in the UK ) and did 170k miles in 6 years. In that time the only fault was a stone through the air conditioning condenser. Other than this only routine maintenance needed.
    Oil change every 10k. Major service every 40k. Brake discs lasted 120k and the tires did 50k per set. The cheapest working car I’ve owned but a lot more dull than your Infinity 😁

      That means your fuel pump is 13 years old, really 14 years now. No mine didn't fail, but anything over 150,000 miles is on borrowed time. Worse case, you will just be stranded somewhere. New fuel pump is $280. Tow truck is $100. If you wait, you will be buying both when it happens to you.
