I was dunked 3x but nearly went to Hell in my sins. This is why I warn others about this.
God showed me mercy 10 years and saved me out of a life of sin by His grace alone. My conversion and salvation happened inside my room and not even in a church. But prior to that day, I have been attending a living church congregation which the pure gospel of grace was preached. And I have never gone into the water ever since I got saved by grace alone.
Water baptism cannot save. This religious ordinance is sending many believers to Hellfire. I hope they hear these warnings.

@Norman Fisk I'm troubled by some of this guy's videos. While I definitely agree that we are saved by God's grace through faith in Jesus alone, I think some viewers (especially new believers) are going to take what he's saying the wrong way and think they can live a lifestyle of continued unrepentant sin and still go to Heaven. When we are truly saved, we are changed. “Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” 2 Corinthians 5:17
If someone says they are saved, but they continue sinning with no conviction or remorse and are no different than they were before, that's something to be concerned about.
@Joe Turner I respectfully disagree Joe, if Christ died for our sin , He did it for all our sin, past present and future. Yes, a person can receive Christ and be saved by grace thru faith and keep on sinning and still be saved although not many rewards in the next life.

The book of Acts is transitional. It begins with Peter, ends with Paul.
Starts with the Jewish law covenant, ends with grace through faith, *apart from the works of the law.*
Don't miss the progressive nature of scripture.
Acts 2:38 is befor Romans chapter one. Peter befor Paul.
Acts 2:38 has nothing to do with our salvation today.
Its all about *Israel getting their sins remitted, not about anyones salvation.*
Israel had to have their sins placed in remission, which by the way, is not fully forgiven, and is why Peter wrote in the next chapter, Acts chapter 3 ( you see, you just cant stop at acts 2) in chapter three he said their sins will be totally blotted out until they are back in the presense of the Lord.
Thats Acts 3:19.
It was good news for Israel, while they were still in their risen state, however, they have fallen.
And water baptisim for the remission of sins fell with them.
If youre a Bible student you already knew that, but if you don't there are numerous verses that tell us this.
One of the clearest is in Romans chapter eleven verse eleven.
There it says that through Israels fall, salvation has come to the Gentiles.
You see, everyone in Acts 2 was a law observing, old testiment Jew.
Acts 2 is speaking to a nation, not individuals.
'Twistianity' depends on tradition and things that are passed down so they can go on and parrot them.
But many times miss the truth.
Acts 2 is speaking to a nation, and thats why in verse 37 it says that when they heard this, they were pricked to their heart. And said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles: "men and bretheren, what shall we do?"
No individuals there.
What shall *we as a nation* do? Thats their question.
This is national forgiveness. Not individual forgiveness or salvation.
And Peter responds. He tells them what to do: "Repent".
That means to change your mind about who you killed. That was our Massiah.
You see, at that time, their earthly kingdom will still being offered to their nation.
Anyone wanting to know about individual salvation needs to go and ask Paul and Sylus.
That requires you to walk a ways. Walk on into the book of Acts. Youll have to travel several chapters until you arrive at chapter 16 at verse 30.
Thats where a guard, he was a guard at the jail there, he said: "Sirs, what must I do to be saved?"
They said believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thall shalt be saved.
Thats a clear answer.
Paul, the same on who tells us Gods not imputing our sins to us, so Hes not going to answer the guy and say heres how youre going to get your sins forgiven like acts 2:38 (Repent and be baptised), No.
The guy wants to know how to be saved.
Which by the way, should be the question for all unsaved people today:
"What must I do to be saved?" Not
"What must I do to get my sins forgiven?"

This Bible is written in a progressive nature, and it didn't stop at acts 2:38.

John wasn't talking to Gentiles in Acts 2, and if you believe your Bible you would know this.
Galatians chapter 2 is clear. Johns gospel was restricted to the circumsizion; the Jews.
Gentiles were not included.

I have such a block when it comes to why we do water baptise afterwards or not fir salvation but after salvation
I know it’s not salvific and I’m saved sealed sanctified on hearing receiving and believing the gospel of Jesus Christ
So why do we do a water baptism ?
It’s not the spiritual baptism required ? It’s a work
Where does it tell me to do it anyway to please God
People say it’s obedience but is it a commandment and where ?

Was the thief on the cross baptized? No. Yet Jesus promised he would be with Him in paradise that very day. Should born again believers be baptized after receiving salvation? Yes. But it isn’t required for salvation.

What is works salvation?
I read in Acts 2:9-11the scripture gives names of peoples that wuld have been considered gentiles that were in audience of what Peter said, and I read in Acts 2:38 that Peter said "every one of you...". Sounds like it's for all of us! I'm so glad I have believed and been baptized in the name of Jesus Christ and received the gift of the Holy Ghost as the scripture says.

Please learn to rightly divide the Word of Truth 2 Timothy 2 15kjv to understand your Bible. We are saved by Paul's Gospel, Romans 1 16kjv. It is belief that saves, Ephesians 2 8-9kjv. 1 Corinthians 17kjv teaches that baptism is not necessary for salvation. The saving gospel is 1 Corinthians 15 1-4kjv that we believe Jesus Christ died for our sins, was buried and rose again the 3rd day by which we are saved.

When i was baptized i put my faith in God that my sins would be washed away. God gave us his son out of grace and without that grace we wouldn't have the opportunity to be baptized for the washing away of sins. There are too many examples that prove baptism saves. 1 Peter 3:21

Acts 2:38 Be baptized to receive the Holy Spirit. One cannot explain away those words no matter how hard you try. We are to do the will of our Father. Jesus saved the thief on the cross before He finished what He had to do to fulfill scripture.

Rightly dividing scripture is the key to this verse. Acts is a transitional book between law and grace(Pauls Gospel). Unlike in the Apostles time, who were still under the law, In the age of grace baptism is not required for salvation...Eph 4:5-6...one Lord one faith one baptism..(of the Spirit when we are saved).

He hadnt died on the cross yet. The Jews still wanted believers circumcised until Pauls Gospel was given by Christ to Paul. It is only the dispensation of grace that we are currently, given by Pauls Gospel which is different than the Apostles Gospel but points to the same Savior, that provides for salvation by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone. If Jesus says "today I'll see you in paradise" because I've put my faith in him and believe in my heart that he is God, then I'll believe him when he says that to me whether I've been water baptized or not because Jesus is my savior not water baptism, the thief knew this and had no knowledge of water baptism.
Amen brother! Wish you were there at that Asbury revival. I want to say maybe a handful of people maybe got saved but mostly a lot of lost souls being swayed by doctrines of demons.

Why fight against baptism in the Name Of Jesus Christ?

Why?? Here is why!!! We started this discussion by looking at the likeness a believer has in Christ. We reviewed earthly life of trusting Christ for salvation and consecration to the service of God. We will now look at the last two events: being spiritually in Christ and putting on Christ. We have already identified both of these events as being spiritual, thus they are metaphorical in their context. Those who support the belief of being submerged under water have thus determined these things are gained metaphorically through the baptism ceremony. In other words, one contacts the "Blood" of Christ and their sins are washed away, one is buried and risen again by submersion, thereby joined with Christ through baptism and death. Regardless of how one views baptism, and its necessity, the presumption has given way to the workings of the Holy Spirit and by what is adequate to meet the requirements of the Word of God. You say "How so??" I am glad you asked that question!!! It has been said that baptism was given to the nation Israel as a physical sign. "A physical sign of what?" Of proclaiming who Christ is, identifying oneself with His calling by belief, and the receipt of the Holy Spirit by faith. Man's attempt to align Baptism with the forgiveness of sins and as a companion to the Mystery Gospel given to the Apostle Paul by Christ, is a failed theology. It blasphemes the Word of God and very much leads people astray. Scripture says one is saved by Christ, baptized into Christ, and puts on Christ, through faith. Man says you receive these things, IF you are baptized, if you repent, and if you live a holy life in the sight of God. Thus, if a man has works, but no belief, scripture is still true, but if a man has faith but no baptism, scripture is wrong. Consequently, the Word of God becomes a lie when one is not saved by faith alone, through Christ alone. Here is the scripture, you decide : Col. 2:6-15 says "As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: (7) Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving. (8) Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. (9) For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. (10) And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power: (11) In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ: (12) Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead. Nowhere are these actions accomplished through water baptism!!

Both are One action. You believe therefore you move into action and believe. To believe, means to relieve all the Commandments of The Apostles.

This was fulfilled on the day of Pentecost, Peter was given the keys to the kingdom in Matthew 16. I’ll stick with what’s written in Acts 2:38. Everyone has there own interpretations I’ll stick with what the texts says.

If they didn’t need to re baptized in Acts 19 why did Paul tell them to. Paul taught baptism throughout the epistles it’s pretty easy to understand. Acts 2:38 is the way. Peter had the keys to the kingdom and the God never changed that.

You can say it 100 times. But the verse reads, "repent AND be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ FOR THE REMISSION OF SINS." Repent AND be baptized. Together. Read 1 Peter 3:21, "Baptism does also now SAVE US." Repentance does not wash away saves, baptism does (Acts 22:16).

Unfortunately, many modern Christians see water/ every time they read the word "baptize" in the text.

Is the most important genealogy in the Bible found in Matthew 1:1 (Gal. 3:16)? Is God's Son the ultimate fulfillment of Israel (John 1:49)? Why has the modern Church done a pitiful job of sharing the Gospel with modern Orthodox Jews? Why would someone tell them they are God's chosen people and then fail to share the Gospel with them? Who is the seed of the woman promised in Genesis 3:15? Who is the "son" in Psalm 2? Who is the "suffering servant" of Isaiah 53? Who would fulfill the New Covenant promised in Jeremiah 31:31-34? Once a person comes to understand the New Covenant promised to Israel and Judah in Jeremiah 31:31-34, which is found fulfilled by Christ during the first century in Hebrews 8:6-13, and Hebrews 10:16-18, and specifically applied to the Church in 2 Corinthians 3:6-8, and Hebrews 12:22-24, man-made Bible doctrines fall apart.
Let us now learn to preach the whole Gospel until He comes back. The King of Israel is risen from the dead! (John 1:49, Acts 2:36)
We are not come to Mount Sinai in Hebrews 12:18. We are come instead to the New Covenant church of Mount Zion and the blood in Hebrews 12:22-24.

Respectfully, it seems like we are zeroing in on the “repentance” part of Peter’s command, and doing away with what he says about baptism by running off to other texts and saying “therefore it can’t mean baptism saves”.
This does not do justice to what Peter actually said. Peter says “repent and be baptized into the remission of sins.” In his first letter, he flat out says “baptism saves you”.
If God has said in plain language in his word that baptism saves, along with giving us other passages in the New Testament that confirm this, there is no reason for us to wrestle these texts to mean otherwise.

@@OnoDiamante thank you for sending that - watched it. 1 Peter 3:21 states that baptism IS that appeal to God. Peter does say it is not the flesh being cleaned that saves us, but it is what baptism does to the conscience. In other words, it is saying that through baptism, we can have a clean conscience towards God. I have a very hard time believing Peter would say “baptism saves” if that is not what he meant.
I respectfully disagree that I am ignoring the passages that speak about salvation through faith. I am just taking the baptism passages as they stand, and am not trying to take away from what they say based on other passages that are talking about faith.

I think the issue here is that you are pitting faith against baptism, as though baptism were some sort of meritorious work. The Bible simply doesn’t pit the two against each other in this way.
Peter says “repent and be baptized into the remission of sins.” A plain reading of this passage reveals that Peter prescribed baptism as a legitimate part of the answer to the question “what must we do to be saved?” That doesn’t mean it’s a work that is an absolute necessity to perform or else we can’t be saved.

Imagine reading a verse that says “repent AND be baptized FOR the remission of sins” and then preaching that only half of the verse is true. All of the passages about believing are in perfect harmony with Acts 2:38 and every other passage about water baptism. Why? Because Jesus said “He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned” Mark 16:16 and "Unless a man be born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter into the Kingdom of God" John 3:5. What do you do with 1 Corinthians 1:17 when Jesus Christ himself told Paul NOT to baptize but preach the gospel which is found in 1Corithians 15:1-4. A 5 year old can read and understand that baptism has nothing to do with salvation and the gospel.

Water baptism is commanded as well as repentance. Even Jesus and Paul were baptized. Read about Jesus baptism in Matthew 3:13-17. Read also Colassians 2:11-12

The NT doesn’t begin at the words New Testament, but at the exact moment of His death!
And even after that, Scripturally, there is then a transition from OT to NT ordinances. It’s shifts throughout Acts.
Most of the time a person doesn’t even have to have a dictionary to interpret a word. Acts 3:19-21 are the same group as Acts 2:36-38 whose sin is only in remission/temporary forgiveness. The way anyone can know remission is temporary in this case is acts 3:19-21 says those Jews don’t have their sins blotted out till after the tribulation. The body of Christ sins are already forgiven per Col 2:9-14. We are complete in him, all trespasses forgiven and the law blotted out. This is very different from Acts2:38 and Acts10. Mat 28 God says take this gospel to the world. Acts 10 is way after that and Peter had definatly not been going to the world. Look at acts 11. The jew is still going but to the jew only. Look at Heb 8:7-13 and Jer 31:31-34. They tell who the new covenant is to, when it will happen and what will happen when they get it. It says Israel will receive it after those days/tribulation and when it does they won’t even has to teach one another God. Notice God also puts them back in their land. According to Gen 15:18 their land is from the nile river to the Euphrates river. They currently sit on less than 2 percent of that. In other words its wasn’t God that did anything in 1948.
This is very close to my conclusion when dividing by dispensations.

How do you square that with:
(2 Corinthians 5:19 KJV) (19) To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
Which non-imputed sins are we to repent of? Remission of sins was received by the world at the cross. If we could have remission of sins through repentance, Christ would not have had to die on the cross.

So many people get this wrong, glad you did this video. How anyone can compare water baptism to the baptism of the holy Ghost is not being logical in my view. We are washed in the blood of Christ for the remission of sins, not water. Revelation 1:5 The last half of the verse says unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood. Ephesians 1:7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace.

after that verse 6 they were filled with the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues as the Spirit of God give the utterance. A lot of people misinterpret and abuse scripture to fit their narrative showing that they indeed lack faith and don’t put there trust/hope (Hebrews 11:1) in the word of God/in God and lean on their own understanding. The scriptures are clear on what we must do to enter into the kingdom of God, that’s why it’s so vital to endure sound doctrine and adhere to what the Lord says in his word. You should look up the original word for baptism. It is water baptism. Here are some scriptures that prove it. Acts 8:36-39
1:00 Remissions is recieved through both Baptism and Repentance. Don't twist the verse.
The gospel of salvation in 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 is different from Acts 2:38, why is that? The book of Acts spans a 30+ year period where God was gradually revealing things to the Apostles. Acts 2:38 was not the "full picture" of the gospel...

The Greek word translated into forgiveness is the exact same Greek word that is translated into remission.
John the Baptist also says while he baptizes with water, Jesus will baptize with the Holy Spirit. This clearly makes a distinction between getting baptized by water and Baptized by Jesus Christ himself.
Are there two types of Repentance? That of Belief and that of Works?
Just read this in my NLT Bible and it says repent of your sin… but in the kjv in my phone says - repent and let Jesus.. remission of sins.. ect. Very strange how different these are seems to confuse. Repent and repent of sins is 2 different things right?

Acts 10 is a really good chapter to prove that receiving the Holy Spirit does not require water baptism, but rather the baptism of the Holy Spirit through faith in Christ. And we should all know that having the Holy Spirit is the seal that proves we are saved and will be in heaven when we die. Just like baptism, people will also say that we aren’t saved until we speak in tongues. Paul says in 1 Corinthians and Romans that some will get various of the gifts of the Holy Spirit and he acknowledged that not everyone will speak in tongues or prophesy. It’s important to read the whole NT to get context of what’s what.

Acts 2:21 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.
Peter said that all who call on the name of the Lord will be saved. When they asked how to do that, he said “Repent and be baptized.” The context is important.

However, Baptism in the name of Jesus, one would receive -
1. Forgiveness of sins (in perpetuity)

Through out the New Testament, we can see that one is saved by faith in Jesus. Water baptism without faith in Jesus Christ, is worthless.. Mark 16:16 “ He that believes and is baptized shall be saved, but he that believes not shall be damed. Do you notice it does not say but he that believe not , AND IS NOT BAPTIZED SHALL BE DAMED? I do believe "AND" is a conjunction. 'Repent AND be Baptized." Acts 2:38 is straight forward.

Why was the Apostle Paul after not eating, and drinking and praying ( repenting after meeting Jesus on the road to Damascus) told why do you delay get up and be baptized and wash away your sins. Acts 22:16.
Acts 10 Peter was yet speaking and the Holy Spirit fell on all those that heard the word, these were pegan gentiles. Peter defended Paul in Acts 15:7-11 using these gentiles saying God purified their hearts through Faith. goes on saying don't put a yoke on their necks (Law of Moses).
This ignorant view is leading many people to the broad road that leads to hell, not down the path that the Bible describes for salvation. This furthers the belief that baptism is not essential for salvation. This is a King James version (which is a poor translation) explanation without Koine Greek to back it up. It also skips a lot of context surrounding these scriptures. If you study the original Koine Greek, which I did, it says that repent, believe and be baptized FOR ("EIS" in Koine Greek - meaning "for the purpose of") the forgiveness of sin and you will receive (lēmpsesthe in Koine Greek) the gift of the Holy Spirit. Anyone who is unwilling to be baptized, as Jesus was, and as He commanded His disciples to baptized others, and as many scriptures, such as Romans 6 describe do not receive the Holy Spirit and are not forgiven of their sins. While we are saved by grace (not based on our actions) through faith (faith without works is dead - James) in baptism (the work that shows that the faith is active), the act of dying to oneself and being raised to a repentant and forgiven state (as seen in baptism, in Romans 6-8) is not seen in just "believing" (even the demons believe in Jesus) or through "confession": (in Acts, there was a demon possessed person who confessed that what the apostles were saying was true) alone (or through baptism alone - getting wet in a bath doesn't equal forgiveness), it is through the acceptance of what Jesus did via repentance, confession, and baptism (which is essential for salvation). Only having 2/3 of those is not enough according to the Bible. Why, if you believe in the necessity of repentance and confession, are you unwilling to take an extremely simple step to follow God's commands regarding receiving the gift of salvation. In addition, there are a few circumstances where there are gifts of the Holy Spirit prior to baptism (once for the first Samaritan converts and second for the first gentile converts) - these were isolated circumstances where one proceeded the other, not the generalized rule for salvation. In addition, baptism proceeded these situations - salvation isn't just the Holy Spirit living inside of you. Even King Saul in the Old Testament had the Spirit of God descend on him (and he prophesied), but Saul was a wicked man and the Spirit of God left him. What saves us is God's grace alone, but we have to accept it through the process of repentance, confession, and baptism.
Don't miss that acts 2 38 specifically spoke directly to the house of Israel. Who is the house of Israel? That's the jews and this was before Grace was ever known about, there was still Jew and Gentile and today there is no difference between Jew or Gentile. Yall better learn to divide the word of truth as we are commanded in 2 Timothy 2:15

The Jews were "washed " in The Red Sea (Ex 19:10-11, 1 Cor 10:1-2) this is God consecrating his people. The priesthood was instructed (Lev 8:6-9) to wash at the tabernacle. The people were instructed to wash (Lev 14:8-9) in the Mikveh, look it up. Further, John the Baptist baptized under the authority of the Old Law. Naaman the leaper was a gentile and was told to be baptized in the Mikveh of the Jordan river. Jesus gave multiple clear instructions to believe and be baptized. All of His apostles and disciples gave instructions to be baptized. The book of Acts (a history book) over and over gives living illustrations of both Jews and gentiles be baptized.

Abraham believed God and it was accredited to him for righteousness.

Men can't see our faith but they certainly can see our works.
Simple enough, I can choose to have an alive faith or a dead faith, nothing to do with salvation at all.
James is really about having a practical faith that helps others and cannot contradict Galatians 2: 16, 2: 21, Ephesians 2: 8, 9, 10, Romans 4: 5, 6, and Romans 11: 6, which clearly seperate faith from works of any kind.

Every time we have a narrative of someone believing it is then followed up with an action or obedience. Abraham, Joseph, Moses, Joshua, David, John the baptist...... all sinners and needed to be justified through believing and obeying. Jesus, Himself says, "if you love me, keep my commandments". The Apostles turn their backs on secular jobs in order to follow Christ. That's work. When the churches gathered for a worship service...that's a work. When they took a collection for the ministry or for needy saints... that is a work. 3000 souls were baptized after Peter preached... that is a work.
You can classify them any way you want. The pattern is disciples believe and offer works of obedience back to God out of love. Frankly, I think it is heresy to teach people that they don't have to be obedient to God. Just understanding what God said will not cut it. God offered His son to us for us and He expects us to offer ourselves back by obeying all of his commands.

In that verse John was saying he baptized with water but one comes after him Baptized with Holy Spirit and fire. That was referring to Yeshua. Notice in acts 2:38 it says be baptized in the name or Yeshua to recieve the Holy Ghost and remission of sins.
You have to realize Yeshuas blood is the only sacrfice and atonement worthy to wash away our sins.

If you thoroughly study and single element of the entire “that for the Jews” argument it does not stand. You must do
some serious cherry picking even if you just look at the writing of Paul. It is all to invent a salvation without transformation.
So many saying that to command baptism for remission of sins is trusting the water. Why is it not just a response non faith? Was Noah working for his salvation when building the ark? Was Moses working for his salvation when leading the children of Israel out of Egypt through the Red Sea? Was Naaman working for his salvation when he dipped in the Jordan seven times to have is leprosy cleansed? Were these not just a response in faith to God's grace? James says "faith without works is dead". You say all it takes if faith, but if you say such and neglect God's commands then you are not acting in faith. Jesus commanded baptism as did each apostle. No conversion account in Acts is given where an individual is saved before baptism. The falling of the Holy Spirit upon Cornelius was a sign to Peter as this would show that salvation was open to the Gentiles. God's spirit has come upon unsaved individuals throughout the Old Testament. For example, Balaam prophesied about Jesus in Numbers yet he was unsaved. Baptism isn't working for salvation, but obeying Jesus's command as well as the apostle's. It is a response to God's grace through faith. Never has a response in faith to God been mere acknowledgment. See Hebrews 11.

This is the verse often cited to say that baptism bring remission of sins. And once you get this baptism you have to speak in tounges to prove that you have the holy spirit. If you dont speak in tongues you are not saved. That's basically what some penticostal church teach here.
No scriptures says that about speaking in tongues. That is untrue. Most people who thinks they are speaking in tongues are not. Speaking in tongues means speaking a language you do not know.

Remission of sin is received through repentance , a change of mind concerning that which makes a man condemned , which is unbelief .
"He that believeth in him is NOT condemned:but he that doesn't believe is condemned already .
Petters instruction to repent is in regards to Israel's rejection of the Messiah , they are to change their mind concerning the rejection and there by receive the remission of sins through faith in Christ .

It was Jesus' blood that saves not water. All throughout Scripture it has always been blood. Baptism SYMBOLIZES our death and resurrection in Jesus Christ. It is a public proclamation of a spiritual fact that immersion in water is showing us dying with Christ, being buried and rose again in the water. Col 2:12 Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.
It's also showing a public proclamation of spiritual fact that water does not wash away the filth of the flesh only the blood of Christ washes us clean.

Peter tells us that water baptism is the answer of a good conscience towards God.

The man in this video connects repentance to the remission of sins and not baptism. If he were right, then Peter would have never insisted they still needed saving.
"And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation.
Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls" (Acts 2:40-41).
It is because they had not yet been baptized that they still needed to be saved. Once they were baptized, they were saved and then added to the kingdom.
Faith alone does not save, neither does confession alone, repentance alone, nor baptism alone. But when we meet these conditions, it is then that Jesus saves us. When we submit to be baptized into Christ, it is then that we contact the blood of Jesus. This is how one calls on the name of the Lord, by obedience.
The man in this video mentions the household of Cornelius receiving the Holy Spirit before they were baptized. His purpose, of course, is to attempt to prove baptism has nothing to do with one's salvation.
Where he fails is not understanding the purpose for Holy Spirit Baptism, which was never for forgiveness of sins.
HS Baptism, which is also referred to as the falling of the Holy Spirit, occurred only twice in the NT. Joel propecised the HS would fall upon all flesh. When the Holy Spirit fell on the apostles, this represented the Jewish nation. Ten years later, the Holy Spirit fell on the household of Cornelius representing the Gentile nation, thus fulfilling Joel's prophecy, "all flesh."
When the Holy Spirit fell on the apostles, they were previously saved under John's baptism (Mk.1:5). So, the Holy Spirit falling upon them was not a sign of their salvation.
Later, when God granted repentance to the gentile nation, he sent Peter to the house of Cornelius, and Peter took six witnesses with him. Peter was still pondering on what the vision on the roof top meant, so in order for Peter and the Jews to understand, and be convinced the Holy Spirit fell on the Gentiles as Peter began to preach the gospel.
The Jews were astonished as they heard the Gentiles speaking in other languages. Peter then acknowledges,
"Forasmuch then as God gave them the like gift as he did unto us, who believed on the Lord Jesus Christ; what was I, that I could withstand God? (Acts 11:17).
The household of Cornelius were not saved by the Holy Spirit falling upon them, but by hearing the gospel. "Who shall tell thee words, whereby thou and all thy house shall be saved" (11:14).
After the Holy Spirit fell on the Gentiles, Peter commanded them to be baptized in water.
Now there is one Lord, one faith, one baptism (Ep.4:4-5).

First, let's look at John's mission, "to prepare a people for the Lord" (Lk.1:17).
Now, can you imagine John preparing a people for the Lord still in their sins? No, right?
Now, let's see what Jesus said about John's baptism.
1. Jesus warned Nicodemus if he was "not born of water and Spirit, he could not enter into the kingdom" (Jn.3:5).
2. Jesus speaking to the chief priests and elders said, "The harlots and tax collectors ""go"" into the kingdom of God before you" (Mt.21:31).
Then Jesus explains why. "For John came to you in the way of righteousness and you did not believe him; but the tax collectors and prostitutes did believe him; and you, seeing this, did not even have second thoughts afterward so as to believe him" (vs.32).
Now, let's break this down.
Why are the harlots and tax collectors going into the kingdom?
Answer: because they "believed John."
"Believing John" meant they submitted to his baptism." They believed his message and were baptized. Faith and obedience are conjoined in scripture (Jn.3:36 NASB).
Where the chief priests and elders, though they witnessed it, would not repent and submit.
But for those who did submit to John's baptism, they were granted entrance into the kingdom when it came on Pentecost.
Now read Mk.1:4 "John the Baptist appeared in the wilderness, preaching a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins."
According to scripture, those who submitted to John's baptism were forgiven of their sins and granted entrance into the kingdom.
This is why everyone baptized under John's baptism (before the cross) were not required to be re-baptized on Pentecost.
But, if you were mistakenly baptized under John's baptism (after the Cross) like those in Acts 19 by Apollos 18), then you needed to be brought up to speed and be baptized into Christ.
Read Acts 18, and you'll see Aquila and Priscilla teaching Apollos and bringing him up to speed on the gospel. This was 19-20 years after Pentecost, and he was mistakenly baptizing under John's baptism.
Later, as Paul makes his way up to Ephesus, he runs into certain disciples who were previously baptized by Apollos under John's baptism. He sets them straight and baptizes them into Christ.
For us today to be born again, we must submit to Christ baptism for forgiveness of sins (Acts 2:38).
In this vs if you think that this vs. is saying to repent ,or change your mind about sin ,,you would be wrong.. The object of the verb repent is Christ found in the next phrase . That is the only repentance that saves.

"repent and be baptized" carries equal weight as they relate to "remission of sins" as proved by this scripture. Referencing another scripture that focuses on only one particular area of remission as proof text is error. That scripture DOES NOT cancel out another, as ALL must be included. Confirming the Word with lessor scripture is a dangerous method of defining "truth". The full knowledge of Christ was not reveled in one verse. It's the same disingenuous trickery used to create belief only dogma ..... ignor scripture and slice n dice the rest.
This is an argument of silence.. when the scripture is silent it does not mean it’s not there when it is mentioned elsewhere.. but when it is mentioned, it does not really mean it is included in the plan of salvation .. how convenient!
