Thank you so much for sharing Elvira! She's so pretty and I'm so happy to see people supporting the original companies. Many of them are so small (under 20 employees) so going legit definitely does make a difference. I used to collect Ever After High and some MH while Mattel was still making them (and hadn't changed the molds yet), but now I mainly collect and unbox Minifees. I love the full sets and while everything is more expensive, you get what you pay for. There are many different ways for people to enjoy the hobby such as sewing, or buying dolls second hand, starting with the head and getting a body later. I did wait 12 years to start seriously collecting BJDs since I like to collect complete company full sets which have the painted faces, wig, outfit and everything designed by the company. Feel free to reach out if you ever have questions about your girls! She is lovely!
@@paultidd from what I heard in the video she bought the doll in this video secondhand from DXgirly on IG who originally bought the doll from Denver Doll Emporium which is an authorized dealer for many BJD companies which would make the doll legit

@@paultidd the doll is not a recast, I said that people should be careful buying online and make sure they know what they are getting into. There are many recasts out there.

👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 So glad you got your first legit bjd! I’ve been in the hobby for 7 years and love BJDs, it is sad that you feel you HAVE to put a disclaimer at the beginning but knowing a lot of toxic people in the hobby i 100% understand why you did.
@@paultidd ? she said the doll was originally bought from Denver Doll Emporium, I really doubt it's a recast? edit: I finished the video, she says multiple times the doll isn't a recast and why it's important to avoid recasts, I don't know what you're on about.
@@paultidd She says "she ISN'T a recast" multiple times, says the doll was originally purchased through Denver Doll Emporium, and urges people to buy legit. She says she has touched recasts in the past, she doesn't call this doll a recast. Maybe you should watch the video again.

She NEVER said that particular doll is a recast, she said she has dealt with recasts BEFORE! And yes, the BJD community can be very negative but there are A LOT of good people here too! So we certainly do not need the extra negativity you’re dragging into the conversation.
@@paultidd This head sculpt doesn't have a recast counterpart if you actually did your research before posting. In fact, Doll Leaves has zero sculpts that have a recast counterpart as they are a China based BJD company. Most of the recast companies are also based in China, which means unless the original Chinese BJD company forgets to file trademarks for their sculpts, the recast companies can't 'bootleg' the dolls. The only reason why BJD brands based outside of China have a lot of recasts has to do with how Chinese copyright laws don't comply with international copyright laws.
@@paultidd the doll is not a recast, please watch the whole video and be kind to one another. I have seen and dealt with recasts before in previous videos. This doll was purchased from a bjd collector. I now own a real doll.

Awesome doll!!! I've been collecting bjds for a few years now. I have like two smart dolls + a chaos head, one 1/4 doll that is a hybrid ( head and body are from different companies), one 1/3 doll, and one 70cm doll. I also have four floating heads I have or need to do face ups on. The 1/4 doll I have also has an original face up by me. Clothes are such a pain sometimes because I feel like everytime I find something I like it doesn't come in the right size for the doll I would buy it for. It's great if you find someone whose shop you love that you can keep going back too. For me its elitedollsworld ( hopefully that's right) for my smart dolls. Anyways gorges doll ,and hope you have fun in the bjd neck of the doll collecting woods. :3

SmartDolls are AWESOME! Very expensive tho’ :) because of their vinyl material i would say they’re a good “first time” bjd but because of the price and how easy they stain i would say they are not a good option for a first bjd.
