I’ve bought over 20 of these Defa Lucy dolls and honestly they never disappoint. They’re gorgeous. Especially in person. I’ll buy her over current Barbie any day. I actually rerooted one of mine Defa Lucy dolls. I took her to Sherri’s doll show in California and everyone loved her.
Defa Lucy's face reminds me a lot of Tuesday Taylor from the 1970s. :)

I don’t care for Barbie faces and fashion which is why I haven’t bought any since the 2000s LOL Barbie faces look so cheap and not very cute. This doll looks really good actually for budget for sure! I want one! Never heard of it.
I have a few of these dolls, and they are super good! Not sure if she beats Barbie, though.

If only they'd painted her scalp white, then she'd be okay.
That's what I was thinking too! Her rooting seems just fine, but white hair tends to be a little bit translucent, so if the scalp isn't painted, the spaces between the hair plugs become super visible. Imo, other hair colors would be a bit more forgiving, unless they're very different from the skin tone.

If you get another, get the denim jumpsuit one- she has blonde hair in a braid. Don’t take the hair down. I love the denim jumpsuit. I just got this one and love her clothes but on my looks dolls

We don't have to mention Barbie at all. It's a fashion doll. Fashion dolls wear clothing. That's literally all they do. There can be countless varieties of them in the world. That has nothing to do with Barbie.

I bought a few of those dolls and I do like the clothes but not the dolls. I dont like that they use the same face mold. Barbie is way way better!!! Barbie forever Lucy never!! Lol.😊😊😊

I personally feel like Barbies still look better and have better faces than Defa Lucy dolls. Something about Defa Lucy just looks lifeless to me. And I don't like that they are only sold on Shein and Temu in the US as well, because that seems a bit suspicious to me.🖤💜

Defa Lucy's nose is crooked, one nostril is larger than the other, her lip paint is off center, her eyes are not centered either, and the lashes are darker on one eye. Sure, the price is pretty good but I just don't see the attraction to these dolls, they just look cheaply made to me, especially with all the flaws and that poorly rooted and bald spots hair.
I think they are better then Barbie right now. Because the eyes are better.
The sheen on the fabric is really pretty, and I appreciate the jeans being denim fabric, but I can NOT get into these dolls. I think the face is bland. And, if Mattel is moving into pixelated faces, I can imagine that's a different machinery being used, there are still factories in China that have the ability to paint the faces the previous way so, of course, they're taking advantage of that.
Here we go again. Smh, the constant comparison towards Barbie. Is Defy Lucy better than Barbie? If you ask me, who the f**k cares? Not I. Elvira, why compare? What would be the purpose? Or where are you going with this comparison, especially towards a brand that is much older than many doll brands on the market, Barbie. Sometimes I wonder what the issue is , as you continue to blast Barbie. It’s sad. I hope you find the coping mechanisms to deal with that conflict you have of Barbie.
