You just said it. I’m clicking around. Never watched a potcast or listened to. Soooo boring 🥱. I just watched 1 hour. Tom Hanks. I could listen to it for hours. I didn’t even know that. 😊 The rest I watch / listen tomorrow. Greetings from Panama 🇵🇦
An all-time fave. Loved the interview. What fun. Thinking back to when I first remember seeing his work on Bosom Buddies, I was so surprised that “that guy” was so great even with the favorable impression he made in that series. I love his Everyman, simplistic depth. Thanks Tom!
This interview turned up randomly on my RUclips feed, and what a gem! Tom Hanks is a genuinely interesting and engaging man, and Guy Raz does a great job of not interrupting and letting what is a great interview flow from beginning to end.
What a great interview. Tom and I are about the same age and I Grew up in the Bay area (On the good side) so I knew all the places he talked about. I sure as hell could not do what he does but it sure is fun hearing how he got into it and made it work. I ended up in Software like most everyone else on the peninsula.
Tom Hanks is the most fascinating interview I have been glued to. He has great depth of knowledge about the psychology of his craft to make successful characters he assumes in his movie roles. Also a great story teller of his experiences and career.
One thing everyone would agree on, there is only one Tom Hanks. Probably never be another one like him. He is the everyman of our time. A natural born celebrity. Samuel Clemens was that man in his time.
I saw Tom preform at GLTF and was always impressed with his work and thought. He has talent. In grad school our one housemate had the television on and there was Bosom Buddies on the screenI looked and yelled OMG its Tom Hanks and they looked at me like I was irrational but the joke was on them.
Thank you and Mr. Hanks for exploring past the one hour mark! Fascinating and enjoyable to get to know and understand someone. I’m 64 and started a podcast last year and interviewed a WWII survivor of the Blitz in London. Her name is Dr. Yvonne Kaye. She said, “Nobody will want to listen to this Janice. Nobody cares. Why put it out there?” I thought, if only I could ask Tom Hanks how to get more WWII survivor stories out there? Maybe you could ask him for me! Loved this interview, I will subscribe and watch! Thank you again.
What a refreshing thing to hear Tom Hanks, who is my age of 66 say that he wrestles with authenticity in his profession of lying for a living (1:35:09) and lying to himself as a human being. So many actors say that telling the truth is the key to being a great actor and I never believed that to be true. I think that's great for their ego but not creatively true.
I don't think anyone needs the political opinions of a person who pretends to be someone else for a living. My garbage collector has opinions just as valid.
I usually have about a 5-7 minute attention span until I click off, but I couldn't stop watching this interview. Well done, both of you.
My ADHD is cured!

Nice to hear everything about Tom Hanks' formative years, hopes, dreams and success. Seems like his older sister and older brother shaped him a lot
Tom Hanks is so Inspiring and Humbling. Thank you for this Amazing Conversation!
Great interview! I started watching Tom Hanks as a Kid, with Bossom Buddies & *Big*
Fantastic interview Hanks never disappoints

A great interview and a fresh recommendation from RUclips
Glad this came across my feed today, and surprised there aren't more views after being up for 7 days.. Darned YT. Great interview with Tom!
One of my best 2 hours, wonderful.
Tom and Peter and the whole cast was great to work with!
Great interview of a great man! Thank you.
The best interview I’ve ever seen with Tom Hanks. You have taken over the crown for long-form interviews from Kevin Pollak’s Chat Show ❤
Excellent interview skills, Guy.
This is an amazing listen.

I used to like Tom Hanx and thought he was a great actor, and then I found out what a great “actor” he really is. IYKYK
Great interview!
Tom was fascinating in "Road to Perdition." My favorite of his portrayals.

Terrific interview!

Tom freakin Hanks. Great man and good man!
I love his bit part in taxi and he never talks about that
Interesting interview ! Are there parts of this interview overlapping (repeats) of other clips ?
❤
Why did Tom Hanks do this this guys podcast ? 😊
Great episode, only the picture in the thumbnail is terrible.
I too lived in Redding. Hot and boring but the difference is the lack of cruelty in Toms life. His dad liked his kids.
My daughter did 12th Night in highschool too
i wish he would act again with meg ryan

I remember you from PBS. I used to love PBS programming, until it got too politically biased.
