Man, thank you for this video! Always wondered how low you can get a CV swap! Really appreciate the highlight on the Outcast Autoworks control arm mount, too!
It would be close, maybe 1" higher, but this setup has aftermarket coilovers adjusted to sit low. No motor or trans in here yet, so it will settle another inch, inch and a half once that weight is in there.
@@hueyfabllc4987 id be afraid id mess it up. I've got my 70 going back together now so hate to take it back apart. Hope to go to grand nationals and take over again this coming year.
I am interested to see your 4v in Frank with the frame Z. It looks like the vic crossmember naturally sits the engine lower. I swapped a 5.4 2v into my 67 using the the Ibeam suspension. It barely fit under the hood.
Yep. The vic cradle sets the engine several inches lower than stock. With the frame zee, it still puts the 5.4 intake below the cowl pinch weld under the hood.
It’s been along time since your last video, I was wondering if you had just quit with RUclips videos. Film more of the whole process of the work and post it up on here. I’d love to watch it when I can fit it in.
I sure will. Was just thinking today I need to capture more. Got some co stuff coming, so I think I'll do build series to keep content coming. Thanks for the response and for following!
Im trying to determine the amount Im zeeing my frame, Im wanting it to sit low (not quite as low as frank sits but close), I purchased all of outcasts rear suspension, but then also got the viking front coilovers that are already lowered from stock crown vic stuff. Have you ever zee'd a truck using coil overs up front? If so how much did you go?
Every truck I've zee'd had coilovers. This one has ridetech, did another one with vikings from f100performance. My green truck (video on this channel) is zee'd with ridetechs as well, but I'd consider it as low as you can get. Meaning, you could adjust the coilovers up 1-2" and achieve your desired height. The Fred truck (video on this channel) is stock frame rails, cv front, viking coilovers adjusted as low as you should go on stock rails. Hope that helps!
That helps a lot thanks! I was thinking of just doing 1" zee, Ill look some more at the other trucks youre referencing and judge how much lower Id want it from there.
Unfortunately no, the cab mounts need to be removed and re installed to make a cut far enough back for the vic trailing arm. Now, if using a different front suspension, it is possible.
In this case it was 2.5", but its based on how much you want to lower the truck around the suspension. Anything more than 3" is going to require more sheet metal work to the cab for Driveline clearance.
Thanks nice clean work and good video info. Cant get more easy to understand than that keep going we're new to the channel but im glad we found it
Thanks! I appreciate the feedback!
Great job man. Thanks for showing us!

Thank you 😁
Nice work brotha.
Thanks man!
Thanks !
You bet!
Is that the ride height on the front with stock crown vic springs? Amazing work, and content! Love your channel brother.

Heck yeah brother looks good. You made it look to easy.

Is it possible to do this workout removing the cab from the frame, is there enough room to do that with can bolted down?
Unfortunately no, the cab mounts need to be removed and re installed to make a cut far enough back for the vic trailing arm. Now, if using a different front suspension, it is possible.
Whats the measurements of the line's you marked on the frame. And whats the measurements on the front. Thanks

How low is the pinch weld on bottom of cab from the ground
At the cab mount or the rocker?
Do you have a template for crossmember and yes would you sell me one ! Thks
Unfortunately, I do not.
