Thank you Fr.Brendan
As we say here in the Southern United States, "When a tornado is bearing down on you, you will get religion." I hope your country can recover from this quickly. Prayers all of ya'll.
Seriously lads, building houses in Ireland with no chimney's!! What clueless so called "leaders" we have. Thank you!
That's the thing, they're not supposed to be your leaders, they're public servants, and we are each sovereign, as such we've entrusted our own affairs in our own hands, we are master of our own destiny, but we must grasp the reins and bear responsibility for ourselves, that's the price of liberty. Responsibility!
They are not clueless. They are evil.
You're only heat electricity or gas if you agree with their narrative of blowing up palestineian children and they want to set things up so they can take all these things away if you screw with their narrative
@@Kipperbob The people voted for them and you are just some shobgite repeating things he has heard Americans say. You go build your own house
As a child 55 or more years ago, my grandmother would sprinkle holy water in the home, prayers and a candle, during a storm. I felt safe, protected and safe because of how my grandmother acted. ❤
Wise woman your grandmother. God Bless her
My granny to. I’m shaking holy water before bed each night to.
Where can I get some of this magic water and will it chase the mice away?
@ not for mice. Not magic either it’s the opposite. It has the touch of God in it and the evil is afraid of that. As e with holy oil. Yeah you think it’s a bit mad, you haven’t seen it at work.
@ If you think you have seen it work then you are mad. The human mind is a delicate thing. If you have been indoctrinated from your childhood by people who make their living off you , you will of course believe all the fairy tales about magic water they tell you. There is nothing they could say that you would question.
By the grace of God go all of us .
I'm in a storm. This mad me cry and gave me hope.
Remember,you are not alone Elizabeth.
Thanks Fr Brendan..The powers that be thinking they know better .Not at all.Sadely most about how the rich get richer.Thank god for our beautiful TURF fire.would be in bad way only for that .We need to go back to basics now.We know we can't depend on the powers that be..God bless all.
Every Storm ends
Keep strong Elizabeth. All of us get tested, and tested very very hard.
I'll remember you in my prayers
Thank you father Brendan,I feel the Lord sent this storm to give us a warning that nothing, nobody has any power only God. If we don't mend our ways there is more to come unfortunately. The Bishop's and priests never spoke to the people afterwards, why are they silent? Who are they afraid of? Irelands people needs to wake up when they are voting. The ordinary people like farmers, volunteers community centers, took charge of the country while our elected representatives went on holidays. Thanks very much to them. Thanks also to Electric lreland and the help from abroad shows how we need our neighbours when things get rough
Every word you wrote is so true. The majority of the clergy in this country seem to have given up . All I can do is pray for Ireland ❤
Really calming reflection, Fr Brendan. Very helpful to me right now as I am going through my own hurricane - although the gales seem to be easing now! 🙏
You can't beat the open fire or the stove.
The greens have set us back to the stone age. At least they could light a fire with basic tools. We are stopped from doing so.
Yes you can. Central heating supplied by solar or wind is practically free to produce and does not raise global temperatures or make the whole town smell like a barbeque pit.
Your wisdom Fr. Kilcoyne reduces me to tears. Thank you and God bless
Calm me oh Lord as you stilled the storm
Still me oh Lord and keep me from harm
Let all the tumult within me cease
Enfold me Lord in your Peace ❤
Thank you Fr. Brendan and thank God for giving you the gift of an insightful mind ... I really enjoy your message.God bless 🙏
The one upload I look forward to each and every week. God bless you Father Brendan.
As Always Father, Thank You & God Bless You.
Thank you fr. Brendan. Very incitefull as usual. I have to say I love that passage in St. Marks Gospel on the calming of the storm and the image of Jesus standing in the boat with his hand rsised saying "quiet now, be still"...our parish priest was so concerned for his parish that he prayed many rosaries during the storm for the safety of his flock...the calling of every priest to offer the Holy sacrifice of the mass and to constantly intercede for his people...God is truly awesome and storms should reming us of this...
Thanks again Fr Brendan for another reflective talk. It hit a cord with me. All the best.
Thanks for this Father Brendan.
Timely reminder as always that the God who created and who sustains the entire Universe, can command all to obey.
Each of us needs to try to lean into that omniscience - in good times, to give thanks and in tough times to ask for help. He will listen. He is always there
We may not get a solution that we want but He will sustain us, if we ask.
That meteorological storm caused huge reparational damage.
Thank you Father..great talk. I slept through the whole thing!! I was enveloped in Our Lords arms. God Bless Father. Ciara Newry Northern Ireland 😊
I love your turn of phrase, the images you create in our minds ' the storm blew us back into the 19th century, with the use of candles and oil lamps'. You don t mind if I use that myself,.
God bless Sean
Great sermon thank you. God bless.
I'm glad I bought a little petrol generator nearly 20 years ago, it keeps lights central heating fridge freezer WiFi and phones and tablets charged. There's a lesson somewhere about prepping for the storm, sacrificing for the future, or putting away for a rainy day. And thank God I built my house on the sheltered side of the hill, prayers for those who have damage or loss from the storm.
Well spoken father.
You and yours are always in my prayers
Thank you Father, I’m 64 and as a child my father would go around our home with holy water and bless our rooms every night. I do the same myself,I am going through a storm in my life. May Jesus and our holy Mother not let go of my hands and walk through this storm with me. In Jesus name I pray. Amen. 🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️🇮🇪☘️
Wonderful way to calm the internal storm is the Sarcrament of Confessions...just call on God he is waiting patiently to hear from me...he loves you so much ❤ 🙏
Amen to that ! 🙏
Love it father Brendan
Oh Father. Wonderful homily. Pray for us.
Thank you, Father.
Father, you might remember in your prayers the soul of my mother Mary who passed away last September. There is a storm through my life at the moment ripping so many things to bits. This is a great homily from you. Thank you and God bless.
Grateful you are safe Padre
Well spoken Father Brendan, if Priests around the country would preach a cermon on the storm how appropriate that would be in getting the message across that it was a wake up call for us humans.
Powerful reflection, thank you!
For Americans, this storm would be classed as a category 3 hurricane. I felt the roof would come off the house.
We were 6 days without electricity. Thank God for the stove and wood pile. We moved our bed into the sitting room with the stove for the week as the rest of the house was so cold 🥶
I could hear the joists in the roof above stretching as the wind built to a crescendo. Amazing to think God calms all storms eventually. thankyou Father for this gentle reminder.
Such a powerful message Father! Thank you 🙏
Thank you Father for caring and directing us at this time. Ireland is facing many storms at the moment and our clergy don't seem to care. Personally I feel like im sailing on a ship with no one in charge of it's direction. It is very heartbreaking for me. God bless you Father. Thanks for everything 🙏🙏
God bless you Father a powerful talk. We need it.
👍
Thank you Fr Brendan
Trust in the Lord with all thine heart
And lean not on thine own understanding
In all thy ways acknowledge Him
And He will direct your path
Proverbs:Chapter 3 verses 5 and 6
God bless
Thank you Fr. In the past 2 storms I availed of Radio Maria once there was power and the full Rosary with Fr Peyton and a CD featuring Dana, via a battery operated CD player in Storm Eowyn, very beneficial and peaceful as the focus was on the Good God rather than the storm. My daughter 28 yrs affected with severe intellectual and physical disability exhibits signs of stress when wind is howling, yet she slept thru till 5 am with the recent storm and our location is close to the sea with Loop Head across the water. TG and His Heavenly Mother.
Fr. Brendan I like your sense of humour
Great thoughts to remind us
Thank you fr Brendan
Thank you.
We shared the following, said our prayers, blessed the house, trusted in God, and never flinched as the storm raged beyond our wee fortress, thanks be to God 🙏🏻
Par 1731 from the Diary of St. Faustina*
"Today I was awakened by a great storm. The wind was raging, and it was raining in torrents, thunderbolts striking again and again. I began to pray that the storm would do no harm, when I heard the words: *Say the chaplet I have taught you, and the storm will cease* . I began immediately to say the chaplet and hadn't even finished it when the storm suddenly ceased, and I heard the words: *Through the chaplet you will obtain everything, if what you ask for is compatible with My will*".
I have one of those chimneyless houses 😮
Living here in leitrim nearly 2 weeks without power 1 week without water.
What a beauty, it ripped road signs, roofs, barns, and byre.
It came gently from the south west slip stream and barrelled up the mid west of eireann..
Not one conifers didn't feel its ferocity. The landscape layed bare and bruised as though an army of giant's had run up its mass, hopping from one forested drumming to the next...
What a beauty.!
Powerful!! ( excuse the pun!)
Ireland 🇮🇪 needs strong priests today.
Now more then ever yous had a great chance to stand with the people thru the conjob.
But went missing people are crying out for leadership.
Mosque are gonna replace churches if yous aren’t careful.
Do you think this was caused by some sort of weather manipulation??
Any nation that voted abortion and sodomy into law cannot expect to be exempt from a clout from above. Just a clip on the ear for now to awaken the Irish conscience.
I had no idea you had a storm over there. But then, you know when they marched Jesus off to crucify Him, most of the world had no clue it was happening, let alone to whom it was happening. In that I take hope God is in even the trivia of my life, and that every life, and all its troubles are noted by Him, while the world may remain oblivious to it all. It's the birds of the air not one falling He doesn't know about. Hard to imagine how He knows each person and all situations intimately so. But it makes each life and each death very profound no matter the wealth or fame. Littleness is okay. Like my Rosary said so poorly, but I see it as a poor stick figure drawing one gives to his mother, she puts it up for all to see, around here we put it on the front of the front of the refrigerator. Stick figure prayers I think are appreciated from children, young or old. For God nothing his children do is small. At least that's how I take it. Always good to ask the help of the saints. I think Our Lady has a large fridge.
Hi, new to this channel. Can I ask you to cover? I mean, do a video on the genocide in Gaza. Going to mass on Sundays I see the priests can't mention the name Palestine or Gaza. They'll pray for peace in the Middle East, theyll pray for peace in the Ukrain but not Palestine or Gaza . That, for me, is very puzzling. Even the Pope has mentioned Gaza and Palestine, but for some reason, priests in Ireland are silent. Especially now when the orange man has suggested ethnic cleansing of the Gaza strip, I'm wondering if that will prompt a priest to open his mouth on the subject. I think we'll survive the storm here, but will the world survive the evil that has happened over the last year and a half in Gaza in the name of the Bible or will evil win again. It's time now for the church to step up to the plate and do something. I'm eagerly awaiting your response.
Egypt and and other Muslim countries closed their borders after the hamas attack, Why?
What about all the other atrocities around the world.
Priests should be speaking up 4 irish Catholics first and foremost .
@bigbassbomb88 What about Egypt and Jordan. They are not obligated to take 2 million people who are and have been living under brutal occupation since 1948. Palestinian have land there. Priests speak out against evil, whether it be here in Ireland, or around the world. As human beings and humanitarian people all over the world, Christians , Muslims, and Jews have spoken out against the slaughter of these human beings. How some people have not been affected by the images of slaughtered children is beyond belief. What's your point. Is it turn away and pretend you don't see. ??? Evil things happen when good people do nothing.
@@anntahhan8930
No 1 is obliged, U want 2 help you go there,
Fellow Muslims won't help the palastian people WHY?
This part of the world we talking about ,seeing as you said they have land there, taking in 1948 '
Who was there first ,Muslims or Jews.
@@anntahhan8930
Rotherham, Bury, Oldham, Telford, Luton, Newcastle, Manchester, Stoke, Walsall, Huddersfield, Birmingham, Bradford, Burnley, Rochdale and every other town in City in Britain got in common?
When good people do nothing eh

How many wars have they started since 1948? The Muslims.
That picture on the wall is quite nice. Is that your boyfriend?
Thanks for all you do Fr,
Signed a eejit.
Esb made 800 million last year but electricity prices must rise because of the storm.
It was windy not world ending
😂
I agree but it was a lot more than windy. At peak in Galway it was in flurries Hurricane level , 184 km/per hour
@@zanussidish5685still shocking 3 richest country in the world.
And we need foreign companies help to fix our infrastructure.
But as long as our guests are warm right paddy.
An old fashioned house, with modern external insulation, and a back boiler system. Simple, effective, cheap, renewable. A modern stove with back boiler. Insulated slab walls, you will have a cosy place to live. No need for 90% of the expensive regulations. Time to stop listening to Eamon ryan and co, they are wrong about everything. And they would spend every penny we have on rubbish
Agree completely
All the above made living 3 days without electricity bearable in my humble abode! I've never trusted the ESB...
If Ireland 🇮🇪 sank tomorrow it would have zero impact on the climate.
It’s insanity people are only surviving in the west cause of our old stuff we got by with.
Is Brendan a Brother of Cllr Michael Kilcoyne?
No.
I think a young man died as the result of a tree fell on his car in donegal bless his soul
