When we got a new machine, we weren't told to clean out the machine after it was installed to clear out any dirt. I'll know again if we ever have to get a new machine in later years. Thank You for that information and also for a very informative video. A* A* A* A* A*
Hi Collette, hopefully this reply finds you with a successfully installed washing machine! Hope our video has helped you to do it, and remember if anything goes wrong with it in the future, eSpares are here to help you fix it!
@@eSpares I did well and tried a mini wash this morning, I have loud knocking on the spin but I think there are not enough clothes in it to be honest. I’ll try a full wash later, thanks, it really helped me.
Wonderful video and so easy to understand! I just viewed a flat to move into. The agent showed me the kitchen and there was a pipe cut through the unit for the cold water fill pipe to be attached. However there was no outlet bit cut through! I thought it was strange but didn't sign on the dotted line and thought I better view a video about plumbing a washing machine first. Lucky escape!
The drain may be connected to the bottom of a sink as shown in our dishwasher video: ruclips.net/video/KoZ9qhS-KcE/видео.html It is unlikely the 'flat' would only have a water supply without also having a drain.
Thanks for the reply. The space for the washing machine was three kitchen units away from the sink, but there was no cut-out in the unit for the draining pipe from the washing machine to be passed through to the waste pipe. Ok, a minor point but still nonetheless the carpenter would need to do the hole cutting in the unit, and the flat should not be let as being ready as that work would need to be done. Thanks for replying. Although I would not want to anticipate doing plumbing myself (if I got on the floor I wouldn't be able to get up again!!!), it is always very useful to have an idea of what's what with regards to plumbing jobs.
Very good clear and concise instructions Thanks for making this i'm getting a new washing machine this week but it feeds into under the kitchen sink rather than on the wall do i need to do anything different??
Hi Nigel, if you are plumbing the outlet hose of the washing machine to the sink make sure there is a one-way connection to stop any dirty water from the sink going back into the machine.
Hello. I can't find any when you are just replacing one washing machine with another. Ours is attached to a sink spigot. Is the drain hose in the old machine still viable as the access is limited fed around a lot of kitchen units so can I just remove the old drain hose out of the old washer and connect that to a new machine? Trying to find videos about it but most lost only the connection to the spigot or downpipe which we don't have. Is it complicated to remove the hose from the new washer or can I just remove the one from the old one and attach it via a connector using the old tubing already attached to the spigot?
thanks that was really helpful but a quick question - there is only a hot water option for filling the washing machine in my new place so is it ok to attach? The washing machine I have is 6 years old but as new as it's been in storage. thanks
+sarah r. It is usually the case to only have a cold water option. Try running this water into a bucket as it may be a cold supply with the wrong coloured tap (red). IF it does turn out to be a hot supply we would advise you get a cold supply fitted. Using on hot water will not only cost you a lot of wasted money and energy when the machine rinses several times each cycle, but it may also 'set' stains into clothing rather then clean them away.
There is a white plastic piece that protrudes from back of the machine and it hits the back metal cover plate making a loud knocking noise. Your advice would be appreciated. 9/1/24
It is unlikely to harm the machine, however it can cause stains to 'set' before they are lifted and will harm your energy bill. It could also damage clothing that should be washed at 60 degrees or less. A modern machine is designed to fill with just the right amount of water and on a 'quick wash may heat only for ten minutes and wash in under 30 minutes. To heat the water on that cycle would cost less than 4 pence a wash, not a big cost.
eSpares I only have hot water supply lol and I'm looking for a new machine after years my indisit broke the spider I think. Not sure which brand to get now
Hi fly164, it is not necessary to plug the holes for the washing machine to work as the caps are usually only a cosmetic feature but if you have them you can fit them if you wish.
What you do is trivial. But you assume in advance that everyone has ready-made pipes to connect the washing machine's wires. But you will not explain what to do in a NORMAL and TYPICAL kitchen when they are not there. Show me a more normal situation - you move into a flat where there are no connections to the washing machine. And where will you put this pipe in?
Hi Stanley G., thank you for your post, most installs are done when the plumbing has already taken place and if you are after that type of video it's not something we do on this channel.
Best no-nonsense video. Suitable for first-timers
Thanks for the comments Devina, hope the video has helped.
Thank you SO MUCH, Joss! A very practical guide which helped two not very practical guys to install a new washing machine in our small kitchen.
Hi Paul, thanks for your comment here. It's nice to hear that you found our video so useful, and congrats on installing your washing machine!
absolutely meticulous a wonderful abridged video with all the necessary things explained
Thanks for the comments Shanaz, hope it helped.
Thank you so much.
First ever front loader - thankfully the sales person mentioned the transit bolts.

Or just attach the new tubing to the old tubing pulling it out of our old machine somehow? A connector maybe?
best video .Very very thanks !!! Good man . :) Have good day .
+Arvydas Mazetis Thanks for the comments, hope all goes well.
Thanks buddy it was a very helpful video 👍
Thanks Adil, glad we helped. 😊
Thank you so much....This is really helpful.
Thanks for the comments Abhay, remember to 'like’ the video if you enjoyed it or it helped. 👍
Wonderful, thank you
THanks for the comment, hope the video helped.
Is it much different replacing an old washing machine with a washer dryer combo ?
We believe the process should be fairly similar for a washer/dryer.
Thanks for posting this very helpful video. Do we need to turn the cold water supply valve on?
+Ankit N After checking the pipes are tight the water must be turned on for the machine to fill.
Yes you must otherwise no water will go into the machine

I lost the bolt inside the machine thank you 😊
what did he use to remove the transit bolts?
The best tool is a set of spanners that are an inexpensive addition to any tool box and available here: www.espares.co.uk/product/es1637552
Does anyone know the name of the tool he used for the back bolts
Ratchet & socket , looks like the socket is around 13mm
There is a white plastic piece that protrudes from back of the machine and it hits the back metal cover plate making a loud knocking noise. Your advice would be appreciated. 9/1/24
Hello does it harm the Washing machine if u connected it to a hot supply but it is cold supply

Cold it is then. 😊
