We loved the food in your hometown. Young and I already decided we're going back specifically for the food! We had a couple of decent pastry experiences, but just about everything we had while there was better than just good.

@@Cruisingfoodies I went once before and remembered Jim's Steaks and John's Roast Pork. Jim's is undergoing renovation right now after a fire, but there were so many other great places that I didn't miss it.

@@steveandyoung Yes, we used to go to Jim's as well. Termini Bros Cannoli are the best and we love Varallo Bros too. My friends own Pesto Restaurant.

@@Cruisingfoodies I thought about it, but did not get the Termini Bros Cannoli, and did not try Pesto. Next trip!

Definitely as good a cheesesteak as you can get anywhere. Their rolls are tops.
Sharp provolone is the best thing going…. Mild provolone doesn’t do much for me. Whiz doesn’t go back anywhere near as far as the origin of the cheesesteak. That came later and it was simply a way to slap them out for the tourists and drunks.
I hope you had a chance to try a good roast pork while you were in Philly, that’s arguably an even better sandwich. John’s Roast Pork is great. Ricci’s, not far from where you were also has good hoagies. I love exploring South Philly, regards.

We went to John's Roast Pork, which might have been my favorite sandwich on the trip. Also good was Nick's Roast Beef. But Angelo's made a fantastic cheesesteak. My first cheesesteak ever was at Jim's, but they were closed and rebuilding due to the fire.

@@steveandyoung it’s going to be awhile before they finish the work of rebuilding from the looks of it. Quite a fire. I look forward to their return.

Both were excellent! Jim's Steaks used to be my favorite cheesesteak in Philadelphia, but this was much better.

You have a unique hairstyle, what do you call it?

I call it: "My hairdresser was in Dusseldorf for two weeks before this trip, and so I could not get a haircut until after I got back."
