Live in Raleigh, NC. My wife bought the 2015 GC Summit Hemi at $58K new. Had it replaced 3 years ago when it wrinkled badly at 25K under warranty., cost $100 from Jeep Always garaged, and uses windshield shade. Noticed this spring, it has wrinkled much worse again? You would think they would have fixed the problem with all the problems and recalls for 2011-2014. Obviously, they have not done anything to fix the problem! 2015 forward still having the same issue and now today at Thanksgiving 2021, the wife has less than 40K on the vehicle, the car looks like new and the dash is trashed again! Guess they are hoping the person who bought it new would have traded it by now, so don't have to change their mfg proceeds! This type of quality is criminal especially when they recall the same problem on the same dash for 2011-2014, but not 2015 and up. Didn't see an answer from the guy who said he received a recall notice? I never saw one and have been to my jeep dealer twice only to be told to call Jeep customer satisfaction. Maybe they will do something??? Not!
Had this problem 30 days after the warranty expired (2011 Jeep GC Overland) and jeep offered to pay for half if I paid for half. Our local dealer still tried to rip me off with a price jack-up to $2500 to repair (my half). To this day it still looks bad and I show it to everyone who is ever thinking of getting a jeep. We actually own 5 jeeps dating back to 1993 and this is the worse one.
Well I didnt get ad far as you. I got a recall and can't help you from my dealership who referred me to a neighboring auto body shop smh oh and the dealership body shop also said they never seen anything like this. I've had another jeep previously which had to dashboard damage not even from the sun. I had it for over 11 years.
I really wish I stumbled across this video before I bought my used 2012 Overland. It looked fine the first two weeks and I just noticed the air vent being pushed up by the leather dash. They need to step up and put out the recall, my Infiniti FX35 had a dashboard recall for bubbling and it was no where near as bad as these look!
Proud owner of a 2019 Jeep Cherokee Overland with peeling leather on the driver seat; service manager looked at my Jeep purchased in June 2018 with 19000 KMs and remarked “you sit on this seat a lot”.....of course Chrysler is denying warranty to repair/replace.
I've had this issue on my 2012 JGC overland as well. Dealer just asked me to come by for pictures, but I'm assuming I won't have a positive outcome judging by the hundreds of other complaints.
My 2011 Grand Cherokee Overland qualified for the recall. It took 18 months for the new dash to arrive in mid-2021. A related dash issue with the GC is peeling/breaking dash trim that one would think is part of the new dash. But that is not the case. We now have a new leather dash with old, broken wood trim. Considering buying another GC? Search online and 75% of them have a wrinkled dash and/or broken trim. Horrible quality makes this my LAST Jeep.
3 months ago I'm having the same problem here with 2012 JGC Overland Summit. Unfortunately I live in the middle east (Qatar) where the temperature remains above 42 Cْ at the summer time.
I had a 2012 Overland GC and the same thing happened to mine. Also the full relay bypass that was a quick fix from Chrysler. Looked like a 10 years old came up with the wiring job. The air suspension started to leak. It had stalling issues. It only had 60k miles on it and I got rid of the POS. I will never by a Chrysler product again!
I have to same issue with my 2012 Overland. Just starting around the windshield, and I live in Canada, where we only get a few summer months. I’ve had too many issues with this thing to ever consider buying a Chrysler product again.
I had this issue; Jeep issued a "warranty extension" that I took advantage of and they replaced my dash at no cost. However, the replaced dash has done the same thing and is actually worse than before. So I guess they figured they'd replace the defective part with another defective part thinking I'd sell my Jeep or trade it in before it happens again. I wonder if they'll replace it again.
Cory I bought a 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland and this happened a week after l got it and l thought it was from the heat so l bought gorilla glue gel and fixed best l could. Today I’m looking on RUclips about another issue with the truck and l find this video........starting to think I’ve bought a lemon 🤦🏽♂️
I'm having the same issues in St. Louis. Not getting any answer. The dealership I purchased my 2011 overland from referred me to a neighboring mechanic smh. Said they never seen anything like that before. I need answers
Same problem with my 2012 overland signed up for the recall and they just kept telling me they are waiting for the parts already for a yr. Now I mentioned it and they said the recall wasn't for that it was for the front dash by the wheel. I won't buy Chrysler again
Same thing here in NY, 2011 Overland. Dealer said out of warranty and cost was $2800. I have a lifetime warranty which doesn't cover this. Dealer took pics and escalated my complaint to Chrysler who said sorry, it's not a recall and isn't covered. Anyone have any other feedback???
I have a 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit.. I live in Ohio just noticed the same thing on drivers side near front window.. Has anyone found out about a recall to fix this problem???????
Not only is my leather dash wrinkling on my 2013 Overland, but the "wood grain" above the glove box pulled away from the plastic base and cracked to pieces like a potato chip.
2014 Overland, same issue in Queensland Australia, I was quoted $8-10,00 from Frizelles Dealership in Gold Coast , and dont get me started about door seals coming apart
My 2011 Overland, same thing. My wife’s 2010 Mazda 3 had a problem where the vinyl dash started to get “sticky” spots. Mazda stepped up to the plate and extend the warranty on all Mazda 3’s built that year. Whole new upper dash installed for free. Jeep should be ashamed of themselves.
My moms jeep has the same problem I though it was the sun but this is blowing my mind . Jeep dealership here in El Paso said they couldn’t do anything about it . Has anyone had a breakthrough
I have 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit with same issue has anyone had luck with a out of warranty repair if so please respond . I live in Ohio…. Need Help
Same issue in my 2011 JGC Overland. Same color interior as well. Im a DIY type of person, but taking the whole dash apart just to fix it is not my cup of tea
Chrysler has issued a special warranty - North American vehicles have 6 month window to get delaminated dashboards such as these repaired. If you are experiencing this issue get to a dealer ASAP.
Never saw the special issue. Have been back to dealer twice brow beating them. only to be told to call customer service, they may do something? NOT!!! I'm on the second dash doing the same exact thing! Had one replaced under warranty on a 2015 GC Summit at 25K miles in 2018? The exact same thing started this spring and is now worse than the first, 3 years later at under 40K miles. It is driven very little by my wife, parked in a garage and a sunshade is used when parked outside! Obviously, Jeep hopes that this piece of fine craftmanship??? is traded by the first owner before the dash fails!
anyone found a solution for this....dealer wont fix it and extended warranty wont fix it either...I've had it replaced once already this is my second dash and its doing the same thing.
pittviper71 ours is a 2012 Jeep Overland limited and I just noticed ours doing it today while washing the windshield. I live in Pennsylvania, it’s nationwide. It has to be defective. Owned a lot of cars, never had this happen.
I have a 2014 Oberland and have the same issue. Can anyone direct me to a class action site? Or give me info on a point person at Chrysler who took care of this problem... Thank you
@@510Redneck there was a recall that seems to have ended in mid-june please call your Chrysler. They gave me full credit with an install scheduled for sometime in October
Well, its 2020 and finally this is being addressed by Jeep. If you haven't received a letter from Jeep then contact your dealer. You will be asked to bring your vehicle into the dealership so pictures of dash can be taken and sent to Jeep for review. Takes about 3 months for Jeep to review photos and send an authorization to your dealer to have it fixed free of charge. Jeep dropped the ball on this one. This is their premier Jeep product that they brag about on television. This Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland is the one with the leather cover dash and it costs from $42,000 to $45,000 for this car (new). Yet it took Jeep leadership 5 -6 years to make this right to Jeep customers? I've had three top of the line Jeep Grand Cherokees but this is my last. Thanks for nothing Jeep!
I'm looking at buy a gorgeous jeep overland for cheap because of this exact problem and the owners are fed up. I'll fix it but this is ridiculous. As much as I love jeep, chrysler sucks. from wiring to transmissions that don't fit straight off the factory line...what the heck. No wonder everyone prefers cheap over sea products. And they wonder why cars sales are dropping like old flies.
I live in Michigan and I have a 2011 jeep overland and it is doing the same thing. Very upsetting you spend the money to have a nice vehicle and it looks like crap. It should be a recall.
We live in Pennsylvania, have a 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland Limited and ours is doing the same thing! Seven different recalls on this vehicle so far, and now this 😡 $48k and they’re telling people it’s normal? I’ve owned A lot of vehicles in my lifetime, NEVER, EVER had this happen!
That's why, if you're considering a WK2 Grand Cherokee and wish to avoid this problem, then avoid the Overland trim. Best bets are the Laredo and Limited trims, which use more traditional dashboard materials that don't suffer this problem.
@@ADJenks What good are some of the premium features if they don't hold up? Like the guy interviewed said, his dash looks like hell. How is that luxurious?
Screw Jeep (overpriced, unreliableand slow) and screw warranty. Cheap dyed seats, trim also fades and crack. Do like the Eurpoean (smart dudes) do.... Install a quality Alcantara dashes, headliner (heat resistant adhesive)/tint windows and buy luxury custom seat covers. Get an OEM windshield visor. Use that $1, 500 wisely....more and more jeep dodge cars becoming terds.
