    I was out in the garage cursing at our washer as I tried again, in vain, to balance the load of clothes. I was ready to call some repair folks (I am pretty handy, but was just not in the mood to fix anything) when my awesome wife came out and said "Hey look at this video I found! It sounds like the same issue we're having and it's fixable!" Now the washer is opened up, the springs are out and I am waiting for Amazon to deliver the new ones. Thanks so much!

    Thank you so much for this video and your honesty. I was going to buy a new washer as we've had this one for about 9yrs and thought maybe it time for a new one. This is seems like a fairly simple fix and I am now going to attempt to do it myself instead of buying a new washer or calling a service tech out to the house. Thanks so much for this video! I know it takes time and I really appreciate that! Because of you, I was able to fix my washer, by myself, and save a ton of money. My dad taught me how to be handy and my knowledge of tools. He passed away 12/13/2023 (He could work on and fix anything) so, unfortunately, I no longer have his guidance. Your video helped walk me through it. My washer is back to working like the first day I bought it! Thank you so much! Means the world to me 🙏❤️
    *also... I believe the ones that say they did this repair and it worked for a while then stopped working again may be overloading their washer by trying to wash too big or too heavy of a load. But, I do recognize that they don't make things like they used to! It's been 4 mos since I repaired mine and it's still working fine.

    • @danfixeseverything
      @danfixeseverything  10 месяцев назад

      @@lenacheney That probably means the washer at the bottom center of the tub has come loose or broken. Inside the washer at the bottom, there is a cover over a bolt that holds the tub to the mechanism below it. If you remove the cover there is a large nut that secures the tub. The action of the tub swinging so far out of balance due to the bad rods may have loosened or broken the nut. I believe it is reversed threaded so you would go counterclockwise to tighten it. I don't recommend using white lithium grease, I would get "dampening gel/grease" instead. It actually slows the movement of the rods and springs (its sticky), rather than lubricate them for ease of movement.

    First off, great video! Like most we switched out the tension rods and it did help. However, our washer still continued to get out of round. After scouring the internet, I found that the washer needs to be leveled. Their are feet on the bottom that will raise the machine. After testing with two books it the front my washer worked like it should. (My husband wanted to take this washer to the curb, I wanted to give one more shot and the books worked). So, bust out a level and that should do the trick. I just washed a load of towels and it sailed on through. I hope this helps!

    Dan, I replaced the suspension rods but didn't have any grease, I tried to place some of the grease off of the old rods. I put everything back together and it is still unbalance. My question, is would the grease be the cause for this or is there something else that I can do to help with the unbalance. I did see another video on youtube, that was for a different factory washer top loader and they said that they were having the same issue and found the piece underneath the tub that was plastic and wore down. He found a metal replacement piece and it worked for him. Do you know if there is something like this for Samsung's? Or have any other advice to get this working again?

  • @brennonolson9220
    @brennonolson9220 4 месяца назад +1

    Replacing the springs is always a possibility. But after reading the comments some people are still having issues and it could be that your washer needs to be calibrated. some samsung washers require you to hold "temp" and "delay end" for 3-5 sec and it should display CB on the screen some will require you to click temp, delay end and the power button too display CB after CB shows up on the screen you hit start and it will calibrate for about 2-5 min. Try this before replacing springs cause it's FREE! And could be your issue. But refer to video if still having issue.

      There is a large nut under the center of the agitator at the bottom of the tub. When the old suspension rods allow the tub to go out of balance and shake severely the nut can loosen or even break. You must remove the cover at the center of the agitator, then remove the screw holding the agitator on and remove the agitator. Then you will see the large nut. Use a wrench to tighten it. It is a left-hand thread so you must tighten it counterclockwise. If it is broken, replace it. Here are links to two videos I found that show how to fix it. I hope this helps you. Dan

    I cant get the top to come off. Unscrewed screws in the back. But mine doesnt have those black clips on the front. Is this cause its a newer model? Ideas how else to remove the lid?

    • @danfixeseverything
      @danfixeseverything  Год назад

      The clips are not visible. They are about six inches in from the sides on both sides. If you use a thin stiff putty knife you should be able to feel them. This was the hardest part of the job. To release them you have to push in on them while prying up on the top. You may find other videos that show the process better than my video. This was the first video I had ever done. I was happy because it saved me about $300.00. If you pry a little you may be able to see the clips with a flashlight. They are fairly stiff. I am not aware of any other method of holding the top on. I am handy but not a full time appliance repairman so I am not familiar with every brand. Best of luck to you.

      I am not sure. I replaced mine over a year ago and it still works perfectly. There is a nut at the bottom center of the tub (on the inside) under a cover. That nut can become loose and even break. It is accessed by removing the cover and it is reverse threaded so you turn it counter-clockwise to tighten it. Dan

    Timing is everything… Just recently I paid a service company $300 to do this exact repair. They did a good job and fixed my washer. But the reality is this - if you are handy around the house - and you are or you wouldn’t be watching “how to repair” videos - Dan shows you exactly how to do this repair for just the cost of the parts. Had I watched this video before I called the service company, I would have saved a LOT of money.

      In Google or RUclips search for "samsung top load washer keeps filling with water." It may be low water pressure. If you turned your water off, make sure you turn it back on fully and that the hose is not kinked. There are sensors that go bad also that are addressed by other RUclips videos. Good luck.

      Yes, inside the washer at the bottom there is a cover over a bolt that holds the tub to the mechanism below it If you remove the cover there is a large nut that secures the tub. The action of the tub swinging so far out of balance due to the bad rods may have loosened or broken the nut. I believe it is reversed threaded so you would go counter clockwise to tighten it. Please let me know your results. I hope that works. I saw it on another channel's video.

    You need to go back in and correct a few things. The metal part of the rods need Nyogel 767A on them. This is sticky motion dampening grease. Clean all the other grease off the rods. Since you used lithium grease on the the cone shaped plastic topping the spring is now contaminated. Or you could use Samsung dampening grease. It looks like samsung used the black dampening on grease on the attachment points also. Im not sure. Also at least the front right rods top is not hooked into the plastic grove. That will have to be corrected. Anyone else have any suggestions?

    Could it just be out of balance somehow?

    • @danfixeseverything
      @danfixeseverything  Год назад +1

      There are two things I know of that cause it to be out of balance with even a small load of evenly distributed clothing. The most common is the suspension rods that I show how to repair in this video. The other is a broken or loose nut at the bottom of the tub. It is accessed from the top. It often happens as a result of weak suspension rods causing violent out-of-balance problems. If replacing the rods does not solve the problem then the cover at the bottom center of the tub needs to be removed and the nut needs to be tightened or replaced. I have not done this repair, as replacing the rods solved my problem. I believe the nut is a left hand thread, so turn it the opposite direction to tighten (counter-clockwise).

      I don't know all the machines. Mine had clips about 6 inches in from either side on the front where the top sits. I used a stiff putty knife to push in on the clips while using another to lift the lid. This was after removing the screws on the back that hold the top on there. Some people have said they had screws at the front that had to be removed but I have not seen any like that. You might search for "how to remove top on Samsung washer". Great video!!!Sorry for my offense, would you be interested in filming a new repair video? I'm an Amazon seller and would like to send you a set of Samsung Suspension Rods which will fit your washer. In addition, we will also provide a video sponsorship fee of 50 US dollars as a thank you. We look forward to your reply.

      Sorry for the slow reply. I was travelling and just returned home. Yes, I am interested in your offer. This was my first video and I think I can make one even better. Please send a link to your product and I expect to be able to accept your offer and produce the video. Dan

    Amazon ? Your supposed to install OEM parts why would you tell people to get Amazon parts

      It was the OEM parts that failed. I chose Amazon because it was the easiest to order from. I spent $40.00 and a year and a half later my washer still works perfectly. It has not gone off balance once. I am showing people how to do the repair and save money. My friend called a repairman and it cost $300.00 for the same job. Everyone is free to choose which parts they use. I am not sponsored and I get no benefit from Amazon.
