Everytime I go home, every nook and corner that we filled will be empty to me. He was one of my favorite human beings. Ill never be able to tell him that I love him again. I will however have this piece of music to remember and cherish our friendship. I miss you dude, you were my family. I got to see them play this live in Spokane Washington at a tiny bar. It was during the Alien tour and I was one foot from Devin the whole show. Got to meet all of the band members and tell them they were my favorite band. (Even smoked weed with Byron) Life changing night.
One of the craziest things about Strapping Young Lad is you can hear so many insane elements from so many different styles. Devin is amazing at merging styles. This shit is amazing.
I remember seeing this video on headbangersball when I was 14 back in 2005 and at first it was so freaking extreame I couldn’t even handle it but after a few days and hearing it a few more times I fell in love with the song!! I also love seeing Devon from back then compared to now in 2018, it’s such a contrast I love it!!!!

I have loved this song from the very first time I accidentally saw the video on some music channel when it first came out. The part where he sing " For I'm not the man you know" has always stuck out. There is something so eerie/dark about it that I love from a horror view point!
The main riff on this defines the term "girth". SYL at Donington 2006 is still one of the most intense gigs I've ever been at. Can't wait to see Dev next March.

In the sequels he has modified the chainsaw so that it can be mounted on his stump, and uses his trusty " Boomstick " shotgun with his other hand :) in the 2013 remake its the sister who survives and loses her hand ( gets crushed under a flipped car, and she rips her arm away so she can reach a chainsaw laying nearby and kill the main demon with it ) hopefully they make a sequel with her as the chainsaw handed heroine some time soon :)
Fun fact: before starting on this album, Devin stopped taking medicine to help alleviate his bipolar disorder. I think it makes this album 1000% better.
