How To Make A Single Ended Spray
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 2 мар 2018
- In our double ended orchid spray video we showed how to create a large floral design. A smaller version is the single ended spray, so in this video we look at how to create this style of arrangement. We have used roses as the focal flowers, standard carnations as the secondary flowers and beautiful stock as the filler. Enjoy and add this to your repertoire!
Ingredients -
Large headed roses
Standard carnations
Stock
Lisianthus or eustoma
Freesia
Mixed foliage to base

Thanks for your art. Saludos from Panamá :)
Betsaida camaño thank you and Hello to Panama 🙋🏼♂️😀
You do such beautiful work! And teach beautifully also. I would love to see you create an asymmetrical floral design for an arch using greens and flowers! They are so popular during wedding season in the US. Looking forward to seeing it!
TheMissbevs interesting - arches here tend to be on an actual building as well as free standing. Coumadin be something to look at 😀
The arches that I am speaking of are free standing with the floral design attached to the free standing arch. Sorry for the confusion.
TheMissbevs no, I understood. We don’t have one to use as we never do these, but if I can find one we will do a video 😀 it would be interesting to show.
Muito obrigada. Salvador BA Brasil..

Left side a bit empty, never the less very nice! lovely!

Beautiful, just beautiful.
If i could make one comment? I have to wonder if you're prone to using your left hand for other things or were you pushed into using your right hand even though you were born left handed? As silly as this seems I've noticed that without fail you tend to leave a blank space about half way down on the right side as you face the arrangement.
I've seen almost all your arrangement and they all are just lovely. You make everything look so easy. Thank-you now I'm going to try.
No criticism intended just curious. I'll bet you wouldn't guess I'm an American. lol
betty sanborn lol - that’s ok! You have me thinking now! I always thought I was right handed but am going to have a go more with the left hand. I never noticed this so it’s good you pointed it out.
For tied bouquets I can work them in a few different ways depending on how I feel or on the content - maybe the ideal is to be both tight and left handed!
Thank you for watching and the lovely comments 🙋🏼♂️
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Lovely as always. It's funny that what you call "French Ruscus" we call "Italian Ruscus" here in the US
Henry Stollard it is amazing how flowers and foliage have different names across the world! I am always amazed that everything is a “spray” - from a corsage, to a bouquet to a funeral item. 😀
Flower Joos, I worked in Abu Dhabi at Rocco Forte Hotel, and it took me a year to re-learn the names of flowers and foliage that I'd known and been using for most of my career - especially tropicals. Unfortunately we don't have much opportunity to use tropicals in central Illinois, USA as they're quite expensive. In Abu Dhabi and Dubai however, they're as common as daisies. The Middle East is far mor impressed with Delphinium and Snap Dragons! Cultures and cost are an interesting mix when compared to one another from across the globe. I really do enjoy learning from your Flower aesthetic. So thankful that you share your skills with us.
Henry Stollard that is great to hear - and it shows that with floristry you can travel the world if you like. Flowers are everywhere - but maybe with a slightly different name 😀
beautiful :) where you gonna place this arrangement?
Tatiana Selicka this is a style of flower arrangement that is very popular here for funerals but the style is good for hanging on walls, gates or arches for wedding work, so it’s a good one to know.
do you have to use a whole Oasis block or would a half block suffice?
You could use either - if it is a big single ended i would use a full block - but smaller versions two thirds or half would be ok.
It is a balance between a sufficient water source, not having it too physically heavy and not having more foam than you need to cover with foliage. 😀🌼
That one long stemmed white flower hanging on the bottom is driving me nuts lol beautiful tho!!
Shandra Coplien could do with another between it and the main body of the spray - that’s the thing with videoing in one take. Thank you for watching and commenting! 🌻
Flower Joos makes sense! I love these videos so much!!
Shandra Coplien thank you 😊
Very informative. How would you estimate how many flowers to buy for these large arrangements?
michelle.makoni it becomes easier with time and the more you do. It is good to have a basic standard contents for items such as this - so maybe 7 large roses, 12 standard carnations, 2 Lily’s, 3 chrysanths and something as a filler. But this can vary depending on what you have available.
Flower Joos Thank you very much..
how well will stay? how long before an event could you do this?
melinda bentley it depends how hot it is - we are in Scotland so this could be made a couple of days in advance, but in hotter countries then the afternoon before, or earlier if you have access to a walk in fridge
awesome thank you. yeah I'm in california us. thanks for the response.
melinda bentley helllllooooo California!
👍👍👍👍👍
Кульдарига Темиржанова 😊🌼🌷🌼🌷🌼🌷🌼🙋🏼♂️
You've left a big gap at the front end at the side of the carnation.
Left corner in the front is empty
gunita zonberga thanks for the feedback!
It would be nice if you could use foliage that many people may have access to, rather than the florist foliage. I would have to buy all that you are using but I have many different bushes and shrubs, that I would need advice on how to use.
Yes - I understand. Because of covid I have sourced more from my garden now as well and that gives a good look! Maybe a combination is the ideal - French rusckus is a beautiful shape! 🌼
Turn the spray around so you can see empty spots
Barbara Evans that’s a good point
Beautiful, but you kept filling your side, leaving the other side empty, esp with carnations. You need to remember the side we are seeing. Otherwise, very lovely.
Angela Nicholson good point - we shall keep this in mind
I noticed that you were well dressed a dew years ago. The talent still the same.
I need to smarten up again - this year was a heatwave though so short sleeves ruled the day 😀🌼
@@FlowerJoos ahh the skills. It's what's important.
