Great video! Nothing better than getting helpful tips from the master himself! Because of you I got into the hobby of aquascaping about a year ago and enjoy every minute of it! From the excitement of getting started to the initial setup, to the final result and watching it establish! It was everything you said it would be! PEACEFUL! Thanks again George for all the time you put in to getting this beautiful hobby out there to everyone and helping me through the process! THANK YOU!
A really informative, back to basics tutorial George. No mention of 53b either. I would like to see a tutorial on plant health. Showing how various varieties deteriorate under different conditions? I know this may be hard for you to do, as all yours are perfect! Keep on scaping
Good to see you sticking to your roots of providing good educational videos. Even for the experienced it is a good refresher. Alot of channels showing off their work as entertainment which is fine but ur content is what matters!
Another amazing video George! Even though I think ive seen all of your content, I still find myself always learning from you. Amazing teacher and role model! Keep on scaping mate! Cant wait for the book!
Ah, yes! I’d love a full video from you on liquid fertilizers! I’m about to set up my first “large” planted tank. All my fish tanks have always been fully planted, but they were all under 20 gallons. My new tank is 60 gallons, and I want to make sure my plants flourish! I’ll be purchasing a wider variety than I’ve had before, and I’d hate for them all to wither away due to inexperience. Thank you for all your tips and tricks, I love your channel! ❤️
Another great video and lovely aquarium. Success is always linked to balance. Light, CO2 and nutrients. A great video would be how to spot if you have too much or too little of each of these. Often aquarists don’t know which parameter to change, or in which direction. e.g. if you have algae, is this because of too little light, starving the plant of the ability to photosynthesise or too much light, starving the plant of nutrients. How to achieve the right balance would make for a great in-depth series.
Great video as normal George, can't wait for the book (signed ofcourse🤣😉) I think a stand out for your book will be some awesome photography. You inspire me to "keep on scaping".
George Farmer I’m sure you thought about it and I’m wondering why you didn’t do: injecting the fertilizer the same way you the CO2, inline. Great content! Thanks a lot for sharing your knowledge, George!
Thanks for your videos which have definitely inspired me to get back into the hobby after a break of several years. Three questions. 1) You always emphasise the importance of circulation. Why do you have the filter inlet and outlet next to one another? I always had them at opposite ends of the aquarium. 2) At 9.20 you say you do 50% water changes - how often do you do them? 3) I previously had a heating element buried in the substrate but I have not seen this included in any of the videos I have watched. Is this heating not used nowadays?
Hi, thanks for the feedback. The filter inlet and outlet together promotes better all-round circulation. If they are at opposite ends the flow in more linear with dead spots being more likely. I change 50% water weekly. Substrate heating is rarely used nowadays.
Very helpful useful video and something different, great video for beginers and advanced would love a video like on this on addressing types of algae 😁 keep frequent updates comkng george and looking forward to the book 👌 Also another helpful video would be how to rescape when only have 1 tank and whats best way to go about it like were to put plants and live stock etc.
I think a video on fertilisers would be very interesting. I know there are a lot of opinions on the subject and I’d interested in your point of view and, the reasoning behind why and how you use them.
Another great video George! Most fertilizers say dose once or twice a week. In your case doing daily, are you doing lighter amounts more frequently? Or standard amount everyday ?
Awesome video. Thanks George. I’m a beginner and have made some mistakes but always feel inspired and hopeful I’ll get there eventually. In my case my new aquascape had a large algae outbreak. I am wondering if there is a way to recover from this without starting all over?
Where do you buy 5ltr tropica ferts, I can only find the 300ml. I am using a different fertiliser with my pump but think tropica maybe the way forward.
Hi George way back when I first started aquarium keeping the oldest time aquarium never use to be with black silicone always as you mentioned it use to be clear silicone and when you use to cure a fish with medication such as Methylene blue it use to stain the silicone in a light blue and I've been on the hobby for more than 30 yrs.
George, first off again cracking video, whats confusing me is distributing the CO2 around the tank,at some point if you haven't already will you consider doing a video on Flow and Co2 distribution to avoid dead spots. Cheers George, again top vid, looking forward to the book.
Amazing video Can you please tell me one thing? Does tropica specialised nutrition expires? I mean if I keep it for 1 or 1.5 years (because my tank is a nano tank) will it be a problem? Thanks
Awesome stuff George, I love this tank! I'm building my first high tech with a WRGB2 Slim for a 90p - As you mentioned here in the lighting section, do you find it best to use the lights for the full 8 hour photoperiod right off the jump but reduce the intensity for the first week and slowly work up to 100%?
Great Video again George, just as a follow on to Stephen's question and your answer, this is where I'm lost,in general George if we get to (using manufacturers specs) of 10x water changes /hour,should that remove any CO2 dead areas, or is it trial and error, testing co2 levels throughout and using or not using a small powerhead till we reach that point. Hope that makes sense GF,and again thanks for taking the time to post and help.
The key to success is money and lots of it for example that light is $800 in Australia. But you can still achieve success on a budget. Aqua soil, good filtration and flow, a light that is 6000k and liquid fertilisers along with a good maintenance schedule and you will succeed and you don't need co2 to succeed.
Hey george! My tank started getting staghorn algae all over the java ferns and the ferns are starting to go brown!! Any ideas.... also where can we find this book of yours?
Great overall video George! The fertilizing was really interesting for me. How do you compare to the Seachen Florish line. I am using it but it is a lot of work... would really like to change to something more simple like you have...
Just some advice. I’m setting a new tank up in approx 2 weeks I’m using tropica aquarium soil and transferring approx half the water from my old aquarium with the external filter I’ve been using on my old aquarium for 3-4 months. My question is would my livestock be able to go straight in day after a few days of scaping or should I wait for a week because of the ammonia spike from the soil? The 50% water and the external filter should carry more than enough bacteria for the fish, but I’m worried about the possible ammonia spike killing my livestock
Hi George. Great videos. I'll be purchasing your book. 👍 How long have you been running with one filter. I'm guessing your not running into trouble because the tank is mature. Also, there's more load on that single heater. Maybe that's why it's on more. I'm looking to purchase the 1500 aquarium this year. I called into aquarium Gardens. Great shop. The one oversite I didn't consider was the actual running costs of the tank. Did you notice a increase in your electricity bills running the 1200 with two oase. Thanks.
Hi George, I saw an Aquascaper 900 recently which seemed to have some algae bleed into the silicon - which apparently couldn't be removed. Is this something you have seen or experienced?
Hello, George! 🙂 Thanks for the great video. You said, that liquid CO2 is not actually CO2 and potentially harmful, why it is so? I use Seachem Flourish Excel in my small shrimp tank.
Hi George, as usual your videos are very informative and helpful, thanks. A little question about your dosing... do you only use Tropica Specialized? Don't you add any additional micro-nutrients? I've read about adding too much nitrogen can prevent some red stem plants from actually growing red, what do you think about it?
Hi George I really enjoy your videos. Please can you give me some advice. I’m setting up my first aquarium with sand/slate /&tetra complete. I want a well planted tank. Do I need to leave aquarium after adding chemicals or add something ie shrimp/snails to get the water & right. Or just leave filter & heater & Plants running till get the right levels. Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks Tony.

Thanks George! Really helpful and informative video! IMO this is your best home aquascape yet. Absolutely stunning!
Thanks Mark!
Awesome video!
Thank you 👍
This video is maybe the best we can found !
Like always so simply explained
Yes. Very good video. Enjoyed this one. Shared.

Great episode Mr Farmer
That was a great video.Thanks .
Excellent video! Very well explained, patiently, with easy terms! Your tanks are always an inspiration!
Thanks 😊
Merci pour ta vidéo George !!! 👍👍👍

I love this style of video. Informative and relaxing. Thank you for sharing! Cheeri-O!- Little Bobby
Thanks mate!
Please do a nutrient themed video. Dive deep into the world of Deficiency and Toxicity and how to spot and treat them
Great idea. Thanks!
Great video mate 👌🏻
great video bud ...really enjoyed it .
Just by 100% intensity for 8 hours made you a true aquascaping master :)
I could be a BBA master if I go that route!
Keep on scaping George...
Ha ha! Thanks mate
that's why you gotta turn up the co2 and add oxygen at the same time.
Great video. I am very excited for the book to come out.
That tank is stunning !!!
Been watching your videos for about 2 weeks just started my first ever aquascape I’m addicted already
Great video. Thanks for the shout out mate
Cheers mate

what an amazing aquarium
I would love a video on fertilizers and dosing. Thank you for the helpful videos.
This is EXACTLY the video I needed today, a great recap and nice to have all the info in one place. Awesome! When is the book coming out?

It’s a great idea. Basically I think it comes down to experience with individual systems because there’s so many variables otherwise.
Very informative as usual. Please more info on fertilizer 🙏
Would be interested in a video on fertilisers
Loved this video! Really useful recap on everything. Can't wait for the book release!
Thanks 😊
Would you use a fertilising layer under the soil?
Great video as always George . A lot of informations . Many thanks
Great video George!!!
Take notes y'all! We're great at forgetting things as humans. Excellent wisdom George! Can't wait to dive into the book!
Thanks mate! Hope you’re well 😃
Nice to see the 1200 George! I was a huge fan of the first scape but i think this version is a true Farmer Classic😊 👍🌿
Thanks Vinnie!
Great video George! So looking forward to the book. I’m getting so much inspiration from your channel.
+1 on talking about fertilizers
Great video as normal George, can't wait for the book (signed ofcourse🤣😉) I think a stand out for your book will be some awesome photography. You inspire me to "keep on scaping".
Looks amazing, what have you used on the back of the tank(glass) as a background
Nothing 👍
Great video for someone new to the hobby like me
How does the fertilizer arrive in the tank? I.e., where is it plumbed to?
Airline into a glass u-bend over edge of tank
Thank you!
George Farmer I’m sure you thought about it and I’m wondering why you didn’t do: injecting the fertilizer the same way you the CO2, inline. Great content! Thanks a lot for sharing your knowledge, George!
Thanks George.... The set up u did at Crowders is looking great....
I have preordered your book George and I hope you have included a lot of information in it because I hope to do it right when I do it.
Definitely more in depth info on the fertilising please.
Very interesting Video and thank you for these informations. Great one and inspiring 😊👌
Great video overview George 😃💚🌱

Thank u , it's quite a Helpful video.❤👍👍
How do you connect the fertilizer pump with the Aquarium ? Is there a Inline connection or something ?
Thank you for the useful information!!
You’re welcome!
Love it! Can’t wait for the book.
Great content 👍 can’t wait for the book!
Hi George, top video today with tons of quality information, explained in a straight forward way . Excellent. Enjoy your week in Denmark. 😉.
Thanks Terry!
Can you do a video on lights and which ones are inexpensive and awesome.
Beautiful red stems. Do you inject another liquid fertilizer other than the tropica specialised?
No 👍
Thank you George, your explanation summarize all of the requirements in this hobby, well done!
Very helpful useful video and something different, great video for beginers and advanced would love a video like on this on addressing types of algae 😁 keep frequent updates comkng george and looking forward to the book 👌

Thanks George, can’t wait for the book 👍
Another great video George! Most fertilizers say dose once or twice a week. In your case doing daily, are you doing lighter amounts more frequently? Or standard amount everyday ?
I usually divide the weekly dose into 7 daily doses, then multiply according to the system. More light, CO2 and plants I dose much more, for example.
@@GeorgeFarmerStudios well said! You ROCK!!!
Nice video 👍 is it okey for 50lt 15-25 bubbles per min, I use home made CO2 so it’s not so stable.
Hi George, just noticed @ 15:06 your inline diffuser its upside-down against the co2art instruction? was this by mistake or any particular reasons?
Awesome video. Thanks George. I’m a beginner and have made some mistakes but always feel inspired and hopeful I’ll get there eventually. In my case my new aquascape had a large algae outbreak. I am wondering if there is a way to recover from this without starting all over?

The Twinstar lights have the nicest spectrum greens and reds look good and the plants grow well.
Come try an open top tank here in Perth, Australia. During summer it's common to lose 2lt to 4lt to evaporation in a single day. Love ya work 👍
Awesome video buddy👍
Goodmorning from Atlanta Georgia
Always Love seeing your tanks I learned alot Cheer's 🙏
I cant wait for your book to come out!!!
Super tanks, super video, super George)))
You’ve shown maintaining CO2 diffusers in tank, how often do you service inline diffusers?
I use a hose brush in them every time I clean the hose - every 3 weeks or so
What style aquascsape is this?
Awesome stuff George, I love this tank! Thanks! Yes, good idea

All plants will grow without additional co2

Whats the name of the foregroundplant George
Helanthium tenellum
George, do you ever use root tabs of any kind in your aquascapes?
Rarely
George- I just bought a Twinstar Shrimp and in both modes it just stops after 10 seconds. Is that what it’s meant to do or is it defective?
Great overall video George! The fertilizing was really interesting for me. How do you compare to the Seachen Florish line. I am using it but it is a lot of work... would really like to change to something more simple like you have...
How long would a 2kg fire extinguisher of co2 last in a 250 fully planted tank?
Hi. My 2kg fire exstinguisher lasts around 3 months. On for 9 hours. Bubble rate similar to Mr farmers tank in this video. My tank is 190 litres..
Please do a video about liquid fertilizer. How do you see when you feed to much en to low etc etc

Yes, it’s a common issue with clear silicones unfortunately
Do You use RO water? If not, what water parameters do You have in tap? (Ca, Mg...)
I have a HOB filter on my 75g now.. keeps tank clean.. would changing over to the OASE filter system give me any more benefits? Thank you, Joe
Hello, George! 🙂 Thanks for the great video. You said, that liquid CO2 is not actually CO2 and potentially harmful, why it is so? I use Seachem Flourish Excel in my small shrimp tank.
