After witnessing a bizarre, traumatic incident involving a patient, Dr. Rose Cotter (Sosie Bacon) starts experiencing frightening occurrences that she can't explain. Like the fake jump scare of "Look behind you Rose" so much scarier then if there would have been something behind her. This movie was brilliant with its psychological torments and the atmosphere, so well done.
Very true ! It made the scene so much more tense. Then it let up, and tensed back up afterward.
This was one of the most PSYCHOLOGICAL and DISTURBING horror films I’ve seen in a while. It really gets inside your head and makes you feel paranoid! Chilling film!

Sosie Bacon and Caitlyn Stacey’s performances were phenomenal.

I work in a movie theater. For some reason, this movie was incredibly loud when we had it. You could hear everything even from one of the smaller theaters from the other side of the building. Whenever this scene would happen, I'd jump because I kept confusing it for the actual building alarm. Never failed.

When they said "Turn around Rose.." I was just waiting for the jump scare. Bracing for it and then the phone ringing got me GOOD
This is such great writing and storytelling. So much more effective to do your “scary” scene like this, rather than the way too common jump scare that everyone can predict from a mile away. Making the main character an unreliable narrator is so much fun when done right. And this movie is done right.
It's like typical horror movies do the old lights go out and you're just waiting for the person to come out but this is great where you don't know what's going to happen because it can happen in broad daylight or anytime
I like how this movie shows right off the bat that not even home security or the cops could even help

I usually only watch psychological horror movies and this is one of the best by far. I hope the sequel coming next year will be just as good.
The reason this horror movie was so great was that you never knew what was real or what was a hallucination. Rose was completely isolated and helpless as no one else believed her, completely at the mercy of the entity. You could never feel safe or relax at any moment.
It basically shows what is like to be mentally ill
I legit thought I was losing my mind as the movie went on. Truly one of the best horror films I've seen 😮
WHOA! I just noticed when the caller says “look behind you” you can see a shot of the portrait behind her and it kinda resembles the entity we see don’t it? Creepy! Man thinking about this film again it was for sure scary!

The anticipation of the jump scare blends well with the acting and the dialogue creates a psychological tension which makes your heart pound faster as the character is about to look behind...
Now that's how you make a horror film unlike the usual cliche jump scare which makes you laugh 😂
Excellent supernatural horror movie flick. The house alarm is one of my favorite scene in the new Smile movie. Also, I would recommend the movie Red Heat with Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jim Belushi if you can upload it, along with The Sting with Robert Redford and Paul Newman, All the President's Men with Robert Redford and Dustin Hoffman, the first Paranormal Activity film, Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday, the 2009 remake of Friday the 13th, and The Fan with Robert De Niro and Wesley Snipes.
The scariest thing about this movie is the fact that people do have frightening hallucinations in real life sometimes. It could literally be anything and happen at any time.

It was nice of the Smile monster to check up on Rose after the alarm went off. Maybe it's not such a bad monster

I’m desperately trying to find the scene near this one where she hallucinates Laura in the dark because it’s one of the scariest scenes I’ve seen in anything ever and nobody has uploaded it
This monster is almost a copy of penywise it does everything except it not just going after kids.
