Grand Moff Tarkin in particular was a truly nasty piece of work.

Hi Paul, our son is an artist and lived in Whitstable for a while. Whilst there he went into a cafe (presumably the Tudor cafe), and Peter was sat quietly in a corner reading his newspaper and didn't want to be disturbed. Nothing wrong with that as he was quiet and didn't want fame and fortune and all the trappings. Our son took us to see his house after he had passed away. Spoke to a couple of local shopkeepers asking about his grave and they both said the wishes of his family was not to disclose anything to anyone as they wanted privacy (fully understandable). We are avid Hammer film fans and especially loved Peter and Christopher Lee. Thanks for sharing this wonderful video as it has made our day. RIP Peter.

Thank you for this really great episode. Peter Cushing is one of my favourite actors and I am glad to have a lot of memorabilia related to him. I visited Whitstable shortly after he died and was pleased to visit Whitstable museum when they had a special exhibit about his life and career.
It is impossible to read anything negative about him. He was and is a legend.
Thank you for your sensitive and thoughtful words.

I remember being a terrified kid watching the hammer horror films. Peter was perfect for these types of roles and had that look as did Boris Karloff and Christopher Lee. He was a brilliant refined actor. As always it’s great to hear more about his life off screen and it seems as though those that met him held him in high regard. Excellently done Paul & rest easy Peter.

Peter was truly a great actor, and a great, humble, kind man. He wasn’t the same after his Helen passed in 1971, he could never get over the loss of her.
thanks for this video, I had no idea where he lived.
I remember an interview with Carrie fisher, she found it difficult to tell Peter in Star Wars he had a foul stench , because he was so kind and friendly.
May he rest in peace, he’s with Helen now .

I actually met him once when I was a girl. My dad was an avid stamp collector and we lived in Kent. He went to a philately shop in Whitstable and as I was with him, I was dragged along. We met Peter Cushing, who was the only other customer in the shop and he and my dad got talking. This was in 1969 and I was too shy to say much.

Love your videos Paul, so interesting and so respectful. Found your channel when the lovely Paul O'Grady passed and have now watched nearly all of them, people I had forgotten and so good to be reminded of them. As for Peter, we lived near when I was a child and my old dad often used to come home and said he had seen Peter on his bike and Peter always waved. A proper gentleman.
