For somebody who hosted a kids game show this would be a big moment for Marc in the case of hosting more adult like shows like this one

Marc was supposed to play the game at the behest of executive producer Robert Noah. But NBC voted against Robert's request and said that he can host but not play the game being that Marc was still new in the game show market (as a host).

John Davidson reunited with Charlie Tuna announcer and producer Reg Grundy, 2 years before this John Davidson hosted Time Machine on NBC Daytime with Charlie Tuna as announcer and producer Reg Grundy. Also used the same sound effects. The sound on the clock in the game as Time Goes By was later used on Sale of the Century in late 1985 in the fame game where the contestants used their button to pick instead of their voices.

They must have been confident it would get picked up at the time this was taped. The only time he hosted something that actually made it to air was sub-hosting three episodes of "Wordplay" for Tom Kennedy.
