Today, Debbie Seymour and Jeffrey Hatcher try to Break the Bank worth over $10,000 in cash and prizes. Who will do so? We'll find out in a moment in this game of hide and seek as these nine celebrities:

Goodness that applause is deafening. Also rare game show appearance for Mrs. Naugatuck from Maude, Hermione Baddeley.

I hope when GAME TV finishes the Kennedy shows, they will run the Barry shows.
The ABC version would display a “Videotaped at ABC Television Center in Hollywood” credit.
The syndicated version replaced the above with “Distributed by Colbert Television Sales”.

It's too bad ABC cancelled the daytime version when it did. While it's great that there was a syndicated show, the reason Tom Kennedy couldn't do it is because emcees weren't allowed to do two syndicated shows at the same time, and he was already doing The $100,000 Name That Tune. As a result, Jack Barry hosted it himself.
True, also, Mr. Kennedy was pulling Double Duties as host of 50 Grand Slam and later The $15,000 Name That Tune for NBC Daytime and The $100,000 Name That Tune on syndication
Fred Silverman was the man behind cancelling Break the Bank and he was also responsible for cancelling The Joker's Wild on CBS
@@tnawcwvictoria What happened over on NBC is that a daytime Name That Tune debuted the Monday immediately after 50 Grand Slam was canceled. It's not often that happens with an emcee getting one show canceled on a Friday, and be back with a new one the next Monday. I believe it's also happened to Alex Trebek, Art James, and Bill Cullen. I don't think I'm forgetting anyone.
It also happened at ABC, somewhat, when Tom Kennedy was hosting Split Second. When that was cancelled, he would go on to host You Don’t Say ten days later.
@@bluebear1985 Jim Lange is another one, when his show Spin-Off (Nicholson-Muir) was canceled on Friday, the following Monday he hosted a show called Give-N-Take for Bill Carruthers.

Not quite. In Hollywood Squares, the celeb gave one answer and you had to determine whether or not he or she gave the correct answer. Here you got 2 answers and had to determine which was right. Not the same premise
It's Barry/Enright's answer to Heatter/Quibley's "Hollywood Squares". Sadly, "Break the Bank" was swallowed up, even in syndication. The next season, Jack Barry revised his hosting duties in bringing back "The Joker's Wild" for syndication for nine seasons.

I didn't know Pat Morita was on Happy Days.
As the 2nd manager of Arnold's restaurant before Al Delvecchio, he was named Arnold because his Asian birth name was difficult to pronounce, Morita would return for the 2nd to the last season.
I think this Syndicated game show, was at ABC Television Center.

Ernie’s VO was always a cut above. Why the shades on Barry?
His eyes were sensitive to bright lights, and this set had so many of them.
Most CBS stations picked up "Break the Bank".
Was is Jack wearing sunglasses?
From what I’ve read, the set lighting was extremely bright. Hence, the need for the shades. Tom Kennedy also wore them on the ABC version.

@@meowkitty5588you may wanna reread my post. I never said anything about Barry wearing glasses. I knew what Steve said about his wearing them because of the glare on Break the Bank but I never said he wore any on Joker. I said Kennedy almost always wore them in the 70s
Richard Dawson (Family Feud) wore sunglasses for a couple of weeks on "Match Game" as well as "Family Feud" in 1978.
Explain how Dick Clark was able to host 2 shows on 2 different networks then Im still trying to figure this 40 years later .
The way it worked was they could host one Network show, and one Syndicated show at the same time. But never 2 syndicated shows at the same time.

Ernie Anderson probably detested the prize copy, but still did it like a pro anyway. I wonder if he found time for his crossword puzzles while announcing this show.
Ernie's old station, WJW in Cleveland, snapped this one up possibly because of him.
I prefer Tom Kennedy by just a little bit. But Jack is still a good enough host. After all as I read, Tom was already too busy with Name That Tune and 50 Grand Slam on NBC and the syndicated version of Joker's Wild didn't begin yet.
I think back in the day there was a sort of unofficial rule that while a host could have one network and one syndicated show simultaneously, he couldn't do two syndicated shows at once since he would potentially be competing with himself and Tom's "Name That Tune" was like syndicated BTB, a once a week syndicated program (save for the brief NBC daytime run that replaced 50 Grand Slam).
@@epaddon Exactly. But in 1991 Alex Trebek broke the rule when he started hosting the NBC version of "To Tell the Truth" while he was still hosting "Classic Concentration" (also on NBC), as well as "Jeopardy".
Marc Summers did it in 1989 when he hosted "Super Sloppy Double Dare" and "Couch Potatoes" both for first-run TV syndication.
