@@hostsathome7390 Fun format, great pacing, and really consistent especially towards the end of the run. I wish someone would find a way to bring this one back!
@@coreybarnett2158 Unless Chuck Woolery's Twitter ranting might affect his shows airing in reruns. Note Lingo hasn't turned up in reruns on GSN in several years, but then again, Game TV Canada does air the 1983-84 season of Love Connection now.
Original Broadcast 2/25/85. I’m friends with Al Ballard, I digitized his original broadcast copy a few months back and got a bunch of other Scrabbles as a bonus
By this point in the show, they were now using the familiar rules in the Scrabble Sprint where once a letter was chosen, the other letter went back into the shuffle.
This show definitely aired originally on a Monday as the crossword game was straddled from the last show, and they show no words on the board when they pick up where the game left off, which IIRC was done when a game in the original Sprint format straddled from Friday into Monday
29:11 Definite OOPS here as described by Charlie Tuna. Sprint round went from 5 letters to 9 to 6, and obvious edit at 26:55. I wonder if Al was brought back?
Buzzr? I don't know who, or what's behind hind, but Scrabble needs to be on Buzzr, we don't care if Chuck has to do with anything, that's just bull****, we haven't had it in reruns since USA days in 1995?
I know it is highly unlikely at this point but I wish you could have Chuck back on hosts at home again because I never got to ask Chuck the question I have been wanting to ask him. Because by the time I could get it to him. You already wrapped up the interview. Again I know it is highly unlikely but we can wish right?
IIRC this aired on a MOnday originally, I'm thinking February 18th as the tourney ran for two weeks but went to 11 shows. The Trial and Error movie premiering on "Wednesday" premiered on 2/24/93, so this aired on uSA on 2/18, 2/19, 2/22 or 2/23/93
I wish they'd bring Scrabble to Buzzer. Loved this show. Thanks for sharing!
Me too! My #1 game show!

Do they split screen the credits like GSN does?
Or streaming!

That’s cool! Do you have a copy of the finalist of the $100,000 tournament?
how nice it is to watch all these wonderful games of old........
Love that the commercials were kept in! Talk about a blast from the past.
Probably Jim Perry or Summer Bartholomew stopped by the scrabble studio to give the money case to Chuck.
Aired February 1985. Sale of the Century and Super Password also did Tournament of Champions that month.
Thanks for the info!
2/25/85. I have this original broadcast from
Al Ballard and his segment from the KFBB Nightly Report
Could you find "Caesars Challenge" unannounced finale, Please?
Maybe I meant, For a minute there, I thought you were uploading more "Caesars Challenge" episodes.
I think Stephen was a champion on Bullseye
you would be right

Do you have the full tournament of this tournament of champions

16:24 The Club was THE BEST INVENTION EVER.
The USA Lucky Day puzzle is PENNY MARSHALL, BTW.
Rare to see Balloons on Scrabble, how often did they happen?
There may have been one other time at the end of another tournament of champions.
Including, they used the balloons for Sale of the Century in the Jim Perry era on NBC in the 1980s.

Dude, you're thinking of the 1989 Now You See It revival. SMH

I think it is from March or April.because of the Easter Hershey's Kisses commercial running. USA probably accidentally ran the world premiere promo
@12:09, huh, I thought Scrabble & Sale used the same studios.
Stage 3 at NBC Studios in Burbank, CA. In 2001, I visited the very studio where they filmed "Scrabble".
