Respect to Tim Kaine for having a good sense of humor.
Voted for Tim Kaine Friday......vote 💙💙💙💙💙💙
Is that who he is? 😂
I was also thinking the same thing. I feel bad a lot of people don't remember him.
Tom Kaine
You mean Tim Naw'leans.
Never realized how much Kaine and Walz look alike. That's hilarious.
I though it was Walz who walked out, would have made sense he was traveling with Kamala.
I came to post the same thing! Hilarious. :)
@@datadivanetit’s amazing how forgettable losing vice presidential candidates are.
Yeah I really thought it was Tim Walz until they said it wasn't him!
Tim Kaine was an inspired choice for this game.
who?
They meant Tim Tim --- duhhhhh
I had to google who Obama ran against in 2012 this morning... the answer was Romney/RYAN. Can't believe I actually miss those guys.
I worked as a server in DC and one day had this group come to dinner with this nice guy who invited them, he was extremely kind and thanked me the whole time, after he asked for the check and wondered why I didn’t add the service charge since they were a large group of 10, i guess I forgot, but he smiled and said I got you, tipped me 100% of the whole check, then shook my hand and said that I’m amazing at my job and thanked me for taking good care of his guests, he left and one guy in his party was lingering and upon leaving he asked if I knew who that was, he said it’s the former governor of Virginia Tim Kane, at the time he was running for Senate in Virginia and as a resident in that state I voted for him, it wasn’t the tip if I’m honest, it was the way he treated me with respect and dignity!
He is actually pretty funny in this sketch.
A razor sharp critique of their own viewers and a much needed snl skit
Agreed!
What is it you perceive about SNLs viewers that needs "critiquing?"
Little late
@@joeychito what do you mean?
@@michaelmcdonald8452 ? It's right here in the skit. Hyperbolic wailing about how everything is always the most important thing ever when it obviously isn't.
Kudos to the writers. This was a well thought out and clever sketch!
John Mulaney wrote just like he wrote the other versions of this same sketch when Bill Hader played the host.
That question about “remember their names” was brutal…and so on point.
I could only remember Breonna Taylor in the moment.
The satire on this is devastating when you realize this is how people are in real life. Especially the part about dude talking about the book but not really knowing about it or a candidate that was so important.
@@NandR I was trying to remember her name, but blanked.
I could call 4 names. I hope it was just the pressure of being timed because I'm black. Smh at myself
@@jaeboogie2786 I remembered George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Trayvon Martin, Ahmaud Arbery, but I couldn't find any other names 😭
Tim kaine was a awesome sport and this skit was made 100x better by having him there.

You win the Internet for today.

1. Tim Kaine is wonderful for doing this
2. John Mulaney looks like Huey Lewis in 1985
3. "I've been Atwood the whole time" :)
Or looks like Richard Lewis
Or looks like Jason Bateman
I've met Tim Kaine, who was first my governor and then my senator when I lived in Virginia. He is a kind, down-to-earth guy whom people criticized for not being charismatic enough. He should have been elected our VP in 2016, if life were fair. He'd have done a fabulous job. I hope he wins his current election bid.
So life is unfair when your team loses?
@@softjones3128 If your team are better human beings and dramatically better qualified than the opponents….yeah.
He just did! Yay! (Virginia resident here)
@@sarahisaraccoon2233Also a Virginian resident here. I’m proud to have help vote him into a third term.
@@margaretmarshall3645 "If your team are better human beings" I love this typical leftist logic. It absolves you of all responsibility to do anything effective, anything that matters to voters. You just declare yourself to be "better human beings" and *snap* game over!
“My name is still Tim, I exist” 🤣
Lol 😂
of course you do
"His name was also Tim."
"*His* name was Tim?"
"My name is *still* Tim! I exist! I'm a senator representing Virginia!"
"Of course you are!" So condescending, haha!

@@CalamityCannon AS a Virginia resident, I approve this message.
God,so true !
And then they had the nerve to say he was SC Senator Tim Scott who is black LOL
Wow, you can transcribe. What a contribution.
The Tim Walz comparison 😂😂😂
I was dying too 😂
To be honest, I thought it was Governor Coach when he first came out.
Amazing !!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I actually thought it was Walz for a second, given Harris was on the show.
I thought it was waltz
When they said Tim Scott instead of Kaine I really thought I was in a simulation for a second there 😂😭
This season of SNL is one of the funniest in a LONG time! I love seeing this cheeky humor come back into the show
The best sketch of the year for me. Hilarious, smartly written, and actually provides some sharp and unique criticism on how seemingly some of the most important aspects of political moments in our culture can be so fleeting and easily forgotten.
Not going to lie-I also loved Golf Tournament with Bargatze. Tied for first with this sketch.
Remembering names isn't what's important though despite the fact that a person remembering this or that name might be used as a useful measure for what's been capturing their attention. What's the value for most people in knowing Tim Kaine was Hilary's VP pick in 2016? I've got to stop and think for a second to even recall John Kerry was the Democratic presidential candidate in 2004. Better would've been a sketch where the host quizzes the contestants on how much space a chicken or pig has to be allotted by law to avoid running afoul of existing regulations. Or examples of those existing regulations actually being enforced. That'd give viewers a better idea of what it means when they buy bacon or chicken wings at the grocery. Ask Tim Walz what he thinks about that.
Even by the people pushing them
It wasn't forgotten, it was performative. More people got shot on average by cops under Biden than under Trump, but liberals literally do not care.
@@JL-dj1oc What's That Name? is always hilarious. Go back and watch the old ones. Also watch Meet Your Second Wife

Tim Kaine is such a good sport! Huge props! It took me a second to realize it wasn't an actor, he actually did this skit himself! XD XD That's awesome
Tim Kaine giving Mulaney the stink eye while he walks off...
The dead inside nature of Michael Longfellow (a name I had to look at the description two separate times to remember) as the host was perfection!
Right? He nailed it! You put it so nicely.
Michael did a great job! Bill Hader approves.
I really wish they woulda had Bill Hader back for just this sketch, but Longfellow did really nail the deadpan sadistic nature so well

“What's That Name” may look like a game show, but it's really purgatory in disguise.
Damnn tim looking old tho… they look so similar. Tim wallz
"This IS the Bad Place!”
It’s right up there with “Meet your second Wife” game show!
I think Bill Hader once said that. Or he said it was some guy filming a sadistic game show just because he has the time and money to do it.
VA ❤s Tim Kaine & won’t ever forget his name! Highly recommend his book “Walk Ride Paddle”. After the 2016 election, he hiked the VA section of the AT, biked the VA Blue Ridge Parkway, and canoed the James River.
I love the detail that if you watch all three of these sketches, each time they do it, they halve the dollar value of the easy questions and double the hard ones
The Margaret Atwood thing is based on a real tweet in which some dbag tried to mansplain Handmaid's Tale to someone, while not realizing he was tweeting at the woman who wrote the book

That’s not how “aging like milk” works. He just mentioned something that was true at the time but isn’t true now. Aging like milk is when people claim or predict something that turns out to be very wrong.

Planning for the audience participation on "Tim Scott", risking whether it would happen in a live show, and having it actually work, was a masterpiece setup.
Pretty confident it's a canned sound effect, I'm afraid - the acoustics are very different from the actual audience sounds.

Game show parodies happened before Hader and will keep happening as long as there’s game shows. Idk why Longfellow gets compared every time. He doesn’t even try to act anywhere like Hader, he does a more dispassionate “celeb doing it for the money” vibe.
