Must say, just been binging all your videos! Stumbled upon your channel about two weeks ago. Helped me get my first drone which I appreciate. And now I just watch all your videos! Very addicting. Huge thanks for getting me into a new hobby!
I like it, Pretty nice. I’d like to mountain surf someday 😅 always worried I’d just lose my expensive drone though. Thanks for showing it off nice flying.
The rekon 7 pro is my favorite drone i have flown to date thanks to your review last year and if you use a 2200mah battery i got 10 to 13 minutes flight time i can't wait to build the rekon 10-inch next month great review The only thing I don't like are the battery straps when you crash they will break i would recommend getting Kevlar straps .
Love your channel. Thank you I can force myself to dust off my DJI carbon frames and get 5 minutes flight time OR just take out the DJI FPV. Prices have fallen and a “replacement “ (brand new). DJI FPV can be had for $250 That. Gives me 1 moveable camera in flight 2 smart lipo 3 long distance long times 4 dependable RTH ?? When summer comes I’ll try to resurrect Phantoms and MavicPro and my DJI conversions Again thank you
Nice! Yea i have the same, some DJI digital CF 5" and a 6" fpv drone with the air unit, and i also have the DJI FPV drone. I really do love that thing lol. Its fast, its fun to cruise around and explore with and the RTH and all those features are nice to have.. plus mine's on an older fw so i get those benefits too. I also have a Mini 3 Pro with a DJI RC and two Air 2S's, one is hacked and i got one with stock N1 controller for iphone and one came with the Smart Controller, which i actually love. I just wish it was an O2/O3 controller for all models, because it blows away the DJI RC controller in features, and most importantly Range! Its as good as the N1 controller which is on par with a DJI Pro controller as far as range goes.. Now i see why people spend the money on the DJI Pro Controller, its a much better version of the smart controller and has the same gimbals as the DJI RC2... Some people love to hate on the DJI FPV Drone, but its what actually got me into the FPV flying and then finally i added to the fleet, the "real deal" CF Framed FPV drone. The came the dji air units lol.. And now i'm looking to install the o3 air unit i just got in one i think, or build a new modern one bc theyre kind of old builds now and the hardware specs changed so fast. But Because i have the dji fpv drone, i already had the basics of FPV flying down, and i also already had the RC2 remote and the V2's. The V2's which i was able to Root for using it with the Air Unit and the custom OSD or however it works.. For the DJI FPV Drone, also called the FPV Drone Racer by DJI Lol. It is amazing how long the battery's last on the dji fpv even when flying it hard and in wind. The batteries are 6S 2000mAh according to the label on the battery pack. I can get like almost 15-20mins of aggressive flying and it still lasts to RTH which is convenient for sure, plus you can adjust it while its landing or just take over at the end to land in a better spot maybe.. The one thing that will kill the battery super quick that i noticed, is holding full throttle up, and it will do about 55mph vertically in Sport mode so i guess that's probably pulling a decent amount of power bc you can hear the motors screaming lol.. But it gets up to crazy heights in a few seconds. The issue is how long it takes to get down so you almost have to fly it down like a plane to drop altitude quicker or you'll be there all day loll. Other than that if you just give it a few second break and try not to hold it full throttle for longer than like 20secs at time with no break's or change's in direction, the battery will last awhile and will let you fly it closer to the end of the battery also.. I dont really use manual mode much on that drone, i much rather use my analog or digital 5" drones for that.. idk i think i just dont want to break the DJI FPV lol, and i just feel like its not the greatest for that anyway, and i already have drones made for that, that can take some crashes... it just doesnt seem worth the risk so i basically put it on sport mode and ill switch to Manual mode only in a good spot when im feeling it hahaha.. Id love to replace the DJI FPV camera with the O3 air unit camera, just because i can actually fly my mini 3 pro and air 2s at night the cameras are so good. But its just too dark for the DJI FPV. I have some really good analog cameras that switch into B&W mode in the dark areas and i can see more thru the goggles or screen than i can in person, its pretty amazing..
I love this Drone!! But im definitely not ready for a big powerful 7" 6S Drone.. What would be their smaller 4-6" Long Range/Freestyle-ish drone for a semi-beginner to Manual Mode, but used to Drone's. I already have the DJI V2 goggles and i have a dji o3 air unit new in the box, but the 5" drone i was going to put it on is basically better off staying the way she is, because its well used but works fine for fun analog flying in the park with a friend to try out and stuff... So im looking to either buy a BNF O3 Air Unit 5/6" Drone like the one i have now, or build a new one with recommended parts from some guides for 2023 and use the o3 air unit i have. I had an expiring coupon from dji so i used it for a new dji o3 air unit. My original plan was to fit in into the 5" freestyle drone i have now, but its about 2017/2018 spec hardware and has a decent amount of flying time on it and its just not worth it for the nice O3 air unit i feel like lol.. What do you recommend as far as the smaller version of this or other BNF name brand quads that are pre-built whether with the o3 air unit in it already or possibly buy it in analog version if cheap enough and just solder in the few connections for the 3-in-1 cable and bolt down the air unit instead... Love your videos btw! Thx.
Captain Drone, Have you loaded a new Betaflight on this? Did you use the Betaflight that came with this quad? I watched other videos, and Painless360 couldn't load Inav 6 into this without some twitching. This quad came with Betaflight 4.3 I think.

@@CAPTAINDRONE798 Thank you I’ve just seen your video it was a huge help ! One more question on your video you mentioned about the crossfire Nano module, do I really have to install/connect that into my radio master (boxer) controller or is it optional ? If so, how do I do that ?

The big cruisers like this are actually easier to fly than the smaller, less stable quads. Think of it as driving a small car on a very windy day at highway speeds vs. a larger car that may feel safer and handle better. Where these are dangerous, is when they are flown around people or inhabited buildings. But if used for cruising, cinematography or mountain surfing, they are relaxing; the hardest part here in Canada is finding a legal place to fly without a myriad of permits and permissions from TC (Transport Canada). Steve is the opposite of many RUclips flyers in that he puts safety first, has spotters (which makes his flights legal) and respects the distance needed to fly safely when he encounters people.
@@technoxtreme178 My reply was meant to be comical and nothing more. Is 22.2v for a 6S really that bad? I always try and shoot for 3.8v, but as long as its over 3.6v and you charge it up to storage voltage, they should be totally fine... I mean 3.7v/cell is really not bad actually, you just have to put it in storage mode now, instead of stopping at around 3.8/9v/cell. But these drones just seem to suck power quickly and they haven't really been able to up the battery's mah on newer batteries too much, without a big size or weight penalty..
