There seems to be a huge confusion with me using the terms 'komal ma' and teevra ni' Please refer to my video 'Raag Bhairav, film songs and Arabic music' to know more about this concept. The conventional concept of Shuddha and vikrut is a relatively recent concept propagated by Pt Bhatkhande. There are other schools of thought as well, which weren't codified or popularized as Hindustani music was more about practice than theory. Hope this helps!
This concept is new to me, but after trying “Sa Re(K) Re(T) Ga(K) Ga(T) Ma(K) Ma(T) Pa Dha(K) Dha(T) Ni(K) Ni(T) Sa’” sequence many times, it does make sense. This convention actually helped me make my surs improve. It made the distance between each Komal and Tivra Surs more distinct.
I am impressed with ur knowledge n understanding of Raagas . Would you give me classes on vocal music?? One on one online ? If yes, please share ur contact details…🙏🌺 Thanx
Dear Anuja, I wish you sing songs with Rahulji Deshpande. Whoever like this idea please give a thumbs-up. You have an amazing voice and unique thought behind each song. Love it.
This really highlights why the ghazals and qawwalis of legends like Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan Sahib feel so distinct from typical film songs. As a fan of classical music, I've always preferred songs in their classical renditions whenever available. I loved this video, and I hope you release an entire series of classical versions of popular film songs. Loving your content-keep up the great work!🥳🥳🥳
Carnatic equivalent of madhumad sarang is madhyaamavati. One classic example is from a Telugu film swatimutyam: Suvvi suvvi suvvaalamma. Sannaa jaaji navvaalamma. -- K. Rajakumar
I have been following your channel for a long time and I did learn a lot to appreciate Hindustani music. Thank you for bringing fun and joy to the music in a unique way 🎉
Excellent tuning in Raag Madhmad sarang . Your videos are all informative and excellent attempt to simplify shastreeya sangeet to common people. Continue your efforts. All elders' blessing will be upon you with Almighty's benediction showered on you. You prove that Indian music is not one to be feared but one to be fond of.
I have heard this song hundreds of times but could never have imagined that this could be cast into a Raag based song and sound so good! Well done. Waiting to hear more transformations like this.
When I saw your first video within few seconds.. My Mind said "I love you(of cource your voice and singing)".😊 Wish you always Maa Saraswathi be with you.
You are incredible! I just subscribed your channel even before giving the link. My love for the Indian Classical Music is immense and I can quench my classical thirst here in your channel, I know this now. You are an absolute maestro in music 💯❤ I love you didi 🙏🏻🎉 "Experimental Keeda" zinda rahe jeevan bhar 🙏🏻❤ The last "ehhh" was very cute 😂❤
As soon as u introduced the Raag, first music came in my mind is the famous Mahabharat title song :) thanks for the video. Bty, ur rendition is better than the original track in my humble opinion.
Loved the concept Beautifully executed, this made me fall in love with hindustani classical music once again I would love if you create more such videos on Ragas ❤❤❤ Keep going Best wishes❤❤
Good stuff Anuja! Another popular bollywood number that comes to mind is Chaiyya Chaiyya - in Madhmad Sarang. I have a suggestion - can you take some 70s or 80s adverts and explain which ragas they are in followed by a bollywood number in that same raga. That'd help us with a good recall of that raga - something like the radio show - Sangeet Sarita - used to do.
Mashallah, you've done a great transformation of the original common song, to something that is pleasing to the ear, raag based and melodious. I'm sure there will be many people who will enjoyed the original version, but for students of Shastrya sangeet, you're version is far better. Stay blessed ❤
Anuja, very innovative...You are making all efforts to take out the fear (awe inspiring fear) of hindustani classical music from the minds of many people. Keep it up.
Please also create a short with only this song so people like me who don't have any interest for knowing how it was created and just want to listen the song, can enjoy this masterpiece... Last part of the song was really awesome...❤
My favourite Raga...called Madhyamavati in carnatic . Kahan se aaye badra from Chashm e Buddoor 👌👌. There are innumerable songs in this raga in Tamil ,Malayalam and Telugu cinema, composed by legends like Ilaya Raja , Raveendran , MSV , Koti etc..
Very Enjoyable! Maybe if you can add some instrument in the background when you sing, that studio quality sound might have an even better impact. Sort of saying we are all too used to it now I guess. Plus- I have always wondered if there is any similarity of base ragas in the following songs: Chain mujhe ab aye na (Adnan Sami), Rehna h tere dil me (RHTDM) & Saajde bichava we (Arjijt Singh). There is something about these songs that make me very nostalgic and reminds me the feeling of first love!
Really innovative! I always appreciate your versatility regarding classical and light music. All videos are interesting.👍 Please don't mind; but sometimes I feel it will be more soothing if you speak and sing in a lower scale.

Exactly why it's got long unskippable ads
I am just following the eyes.... never seen such expressive eyes.... drowning in the deep eyes....😊
This is how songs of 50s & 60s sound. These rag based songs have real beauty soothing to ears.

That song's ORIGINAL is a Sufi song, LIFTED by PRR as is, that too only after Sukhwinder Singh suggested it to him!
Kahaan se aye badra
Ghulta jaye kajra
is probably the best example of film song composed in madhmad sarang
Exceptional talent hai aapka ji 👏👏 Kya Bath Hai 👌👌

Great experiment, Anuja ji. We are watching your content to see experiments like this. Keep doing more such videos.
“Shankara Nadha Sharira Para” from Shankara Bharanam and “Aa Laut Ke Aaja Mere Mit” are most likely based on Raag Madhmaad Sarang.
you need to make it full song
You can make vividh bharti live again. I think this concept can revive music industry. Excellent .
You are magician ❤
Hey di…a very good experiment…kudos to you..Can u pls tell which condenser mike you are using?
Madhmaad Sarang reminded me of Suvee Suvee - from Swathimuthyam.
Madhyamavati raagam, It is openly referred in the opening of song
Maestro Ilayaraja has composed over 30 songs in this raag alone.
Raag ma chaleya sun k ponnyn selvan 2 k vera raja vera ka yaad agayi
Bro, your face itself is dancing…never seen someone having such beautiful face expressions.😅
Very nicely conceived and presented.
It sounds so good when in Raag daari and makes so much sense!
