Since you don't really have the motivation to play Minecraft anymore, I suggest trying out Minecraft beta 1.7.3. Though it is missing a lot of the fun features of the newer versions, I think it's way more fun and easier to have the motivation to play. It got me back to playing Minecraft too. So, whether you end up liking it or not, it's worth trying out.
First of all most passive mobs will be hostile if you hit them second of all keep inventory is an option you just had to go into the world options for longer than 2 seconds third to make a campfire you need three logs at the bottom of the crafting menu a cold in the center and then three sticks surrounding the coal fourth you could just click that weird green little book when you're in the crafting menu and you can see the recipes By the way when you move away Enough from a hostile mob they will despawn so you don't have to worry about it camping your loot also about the animal carcasses I have no clue what mod that is nor do I know anything about it but I'm guessing you probably should have put into like a Crafter and seeing if that would give you pork chops or lamb chops if not you might have to I don't know make a weird random thing I've only gone through the first half of the video so I have no clue if you're going to need more information but here's the information I have for you as of right now and I don't know how much of this you've learned from the commons and the other half of the video so whatever here's my two cents By the way don't make stairs up into your safe haven it will have mobs coming up same goes for ladders after that the acts has a slower hit rate because Minecraft want to balance the weapons so now you can't spam click
By the way when it comes to a house you only need a 2 by 3 to have all your stuff in it which is basically put three planks and then put another three planks right next to each other then put walls and probably a light then find which of the science you want the doors Beyond I usually put it on the two block space so it makes the house look long then you put a chest next to the door against the wall then a furnace and crafting table then you put your bed on top of it and now you have walking space to touch all your stuff whilst also having a small house so you don't waste resources and your time it's quicker efficient and it's something small😅 I don't know how better to explain this😅😅
I don’t know how to make mods, but I do have access to the Minecraft entity wizard. If I ever decide to make a non-animal mob im definitely naming it The Man Dude who Watches just because it’s funny ghksgdj

It depends on a lot of things how a microphone will sound. I suppose that your old laptop used a crap/cheap microphone or it somehow got damaged by moist or liquid.

That means you can craft a butcher knife with iron and iron ingots and a stick, I believe. Also, place the corpses on the ground or any solid block and use the butcher knife on it to make cookable meat out of it. TL;DR: Prolly just get JEI to find the recipe for the knife. Also the hook to hang the corpses.
