A MOD WHERE THE MAIN "CHARACTER" IS THE EERIE AMBIENCE AND NOT A RE-SKINNED DWELLER OR AN INSTA-KILL STALKER OR MONSTER IN GENERAL? SIGN ME THE FUCK UP
And it's only a demo!! Can't wait for the full version
I think the original dweller is scary.
@@InfernalSkelettthe original one focused more in building tension before the dweller attacked, so yes, it was scary
i agree, that's why i also like dimensional doors. spawns a bunch of dungeons with no monsters, just eery rooms and traps
That sounds sick, did the rooms occasionally have treasure or items inside? @codebracker
i like how just knowing you have a horror mod is enough to make you interpret random things as horror things

I've played with this concept, what if someone marketed something as a scariest horror mod and then just added in the goofiest things
I wonder if a mod that can detect whenever the player places more than 50 or 100 or something blocks in quick succession, then "copy" those blocks and some of what's around it, and just plop that stuff somewhere else. Sure it won't be a perfect copy because of technological limitations and whatnot, but that makes it all the more eerie. Just imagine, you build a house, you go out exploring, hear weird noises, you come back to your base, some weird dirt towers / just random blocks you didn't place are there, then like 30 minutes later exploring you come across a bad copy of your own damn house.
Would give such creeps, of *something* that is copying you actively, that's maybe trying to learn, or communicate, or who knows.
Would be cool if that was added to the mod! Will be interviewing the creator and can ask to see if that's something he'll do in the future.
@@OneLastTimeTeam Yo, thanks! That'd be dope af! Although I expect "shit that's hard" to be a pretty likely answer, I don't know if any other mod registers player input like that in order to be able to reference because building a new feature like that from scratch sounds herculean.
like the part when kinitopet asks you if you're really who you say you are. something like that where it tries to communicate with you
honestly the flaws would make it better too
that was the initial impression i got from the floating thing, it looked like his unfinished house

I JUST NOTICED-
tbh minecraft horror mods that are just, "what the fuck is that? I-Is there a guy up there? Oh god he's gone" are way more scary then mods that are just, BIG BLACK MAN RUNNING TOWARDS YOU AT MACH 5 WHILE MAKING VERY LOUD NOISES!!!!!
edit: Big black men running towards while making very loud noises can be scary if done right
I think I may have started a war, time for popcorn
what the fuck have I done
Would you rather get jumped by big scary doodle man or have a slow burn experience?
I enjoy both but I agree! I like things that are more mysterious and mess with your mind rather than constant loud noises.
Today I have downloaded the WATER DWELLER. This MOISTURE MONSTER immediately spawns in darts at you at mach 7 to rip out every single organ you have with a frightening PNG JUMPSCARE and loud screaming every time you touch a water block or whenever it rains! This is so scary guys! Please LIKE and SUBSCRIBE to help me get through this harrowing experience of fighting this lanky, black enemy with glowing eyes and long teeth or else the Water Dweller will break into your home next time you drink water
And then the monsters have the same level of detail as little timmy’s first skin
The water dweller is the next big horror mod
"THERE IS A BIG BLACK INDIVIDUAL CHASING ME!!!" 🥶😰
I don't like Horror Mods that simulates being a Murder Victim.
I like being stalked in Horror Mods.
Yeah stalking feels better due to the suspense and unknown
@@OneLastTimeTeam yeah, but monster that not dangerous is kinda like a joke without punchline
@@louket5762 That's kind of the Achilles' heel of the concept in general, really. You either get bushwhacked by a spooky monster and... respawn, grab your stuff back, and try not to get bushwhacked again. OR the spooky monster slowly stalks you until... You get bushwhacked, respawn, grab your stuff back, and try not to get bushwhacked again. Granted you can technically say that about ANY horror game, but at least in most of them you have a defined win state you're trying to reach along with getting caught by the monster as the defined lose state.
You don't really have either in Minecraft (sans Hardcore difficulty). There's no goal in a sandbox which by extension means you can't really "lose". Dying is a minor annoyance, with the only threat being you'd have to waste time running back for your stuff (if you even had anything worth retrieving). Similarly no defined goal means you're in the game for as long as you choose to continue playing the game. Which means it's just you and the tickle monster that keeps trying to sucker punch you going back and forth with one another. Forever. At the end of the day it's still just a Minecraft mob, and the longer you have to deal with it the easier it becomes to recognize the AI's behavior. You inevitably notice the seams in the monster costume, and it immediately ceases to be scary.
I think the problem is a lot of mods don't take into account that a lot of the horror of being in either of those situations is trying to get away. A lot of mods don't really include escape or avoidance conditions, so if you're too far from your house or cover it becomes a game of who can kill the other like any other mob or just dying but without the stress and preamble of the warden.
the reason the dog was growling is because you hit an entity, armor stands are considered an entity in minecraft. they growl to attack any entity you attack.
Yeah everyone has been letting me know haha
@@OneLastTimeTeam also, in the house where you were jumpscared and got the "nice to meet you" badge, your cursor kept changing to the attack cursor, meaning there was some invisible entity in there. next time, see if you can hit it. rewatch that part!
@@OneLastTimeTeam its at 22:22
Why on earth are armor stands considered entities 👁👁
@@tamold3084 entities aren't reserved to living things. they're better than blocks when it comes to more interactable objects like armor stands (plus, blocks don't have inventories. chests, furnaces, etc. use what's called a block or tile entity to store inventory data) even things like boats, minecarts, falling sand/gravel, and dropped items are considered entities (because they're able to store position, rotation, and velocity in a way that blocks can't) as far as i know, wolves don't get angry at boats or minecarts though, so the armor stand thing is likely just a bug

I wish more horror mods especially ones like this that play on eerie feelings would make the ’monster’ more reminiscent of a player than a monster. I’d be more scared if I saw some random ’person’ who showed up on my tab list rather than an obvious monster that’s clearly not a part of the vanilla game, whereas a player could be. Maybe unpopular opinion?? but I would love to see something like this

how about a horror mod similar to this that adds something that just acts like another player like you’ll randomly run into it just going through the game even seeing little pop ups for achievements it got telling you it’s progressing through the game, the kick is that the other “player” is neutral towards you and if it spawns say while it’s night and there are mobs it will help kill some of them but if you do anything aggressive towards it or even take an item from a chest in a structure it built it starts stalking you and eventually begins hunting
Ok this is cool
This, but the twist is that as the fake player progresses, it begins talking in chat about weird sounds and stuff. After a while, it just… stops. You can find traces of him, like buildings and such, but it’s just like he vanished into thin air. Then, YOU start hearing footsteps.

@@OneLastTimeTeam yeah cuz armour stand are considered entities like other mobs so i think thats why
Honestly, for years I have heard extra footsteps, I am just so scared of anything that I don’t need mods. My cave noises are 0 and I usually play everything at 0 anyways.
i imagine herobrine appearing in my world...
Fr, i freak out even by my own footsteps
if everything's at 0, how do you know there's nothing following you from behind?
@@abogmus8904 when I had volume on.
See, I grew up with Herobrine and Null creepypastas so to me this is what Minecraft horror is about. Not scary things running at you, not in-your-face jumpscares, but the feeling of not being alone in your world without ever being sure. Was that thing you saw behind the tree a zombie or a creepy being? Was that mob dying a coincidence or intentional? Are you seeing things or does the sprite look off? Things like that. There's a reason I play without ambience on and that's because cave sounds are genuinely scary and I never feel safe below a certain y level.
Unfortunately Hollywood never understood that horror doesn't necessarily mean slasher and gore, so the demand for atmospheric horror never went up.
On the other hand, fortunately, liminal space is becoming a buzzword. Let's see what the future holds.
my theory; that thing is a trapped player and this is HIS world you are in, and he gets mad every time you get near his stuff, and he will make YOU the trapped player
I think that too! I'll be interviewing the creator so I'll be sure to ask him about this theory!
@@OneLastTimeTeam ah ok :D
There should be a horror mod where the “entity” is not a sprite but a massive towering stone statue that cannot be destroyed. It would be absolutely silent making no noise and only move at night. It would be incredibly slow, but there would be absolutely nothing you could do to stop it. If you go three days without looking at it, it’ll begin to emerge from the ground 50 blocks away from your spawn point. If you’re caught within it, you’ll simply be trapped inside, never dying since its only made of an indestructible block.
creative
Actually a genius idea, a moving bedrock prison would encourages a good challange, where instead of playing static, it makes the player having to always on the move and also discourages those exploits that make them stay in one place for long period of time like fishing farm.
the dog didn't teleported to you because when you died, you respawned FAR AWAY from that chunk, so the chunk got unloaded, and the dog got stuck on the unloaded chunk, if you get back to that chunk or someone else loads it, the dog will automatically teleport to you again.
Slow horror is good horror and the best horror is spicological horror
We are scared of the dark not because of the bear that is in the cave. But the implication of a bear being in a cave.
spicological
@@inconsistenttutorialuploaderthat's the horror you feel when the red spy is in the base

And I’m pretty sure the footsteps from when the rain started were just a pig too
I think a big struggle in minecraft mods is that since you have to install it theres already a lot of info you have about what's gonna happen, diminishing the element of surprise (which is arrhenium)
I agree, I like going into mods blind
Simply don't read :P
Silence was ass man, mid cheap jumpscares goofy ai goofy model, the silent idea is cool, having to keep quiet but aside from that I pretty much never put it in packs due to lack of subtlety and generally just being anoying. This is a big improvement.
Yeah I think he had to use the silence as a stepping stone to get this mod where it's at but definitely an improvement nonetheless

I didn't even notice the achievement until someone else pointed it out lol
I like how friendly it was too. Just "giving you a heads up, hi!!"
15:25 this cave noise here is attributed to your mood level... seems you were too deep and in the dark too long...
reminds me of og herobrine/white eyes lore, where it's just a non-confrontational entity, building strange monuments in your world and generally just messing with your senses... until you get too curious
Yeah exactly the vibe he's going for!
19:10 they were imitating spectator mode
IT HAS OP OH CRAP-
I love horror mods like this. Nothing extremely jarring or trying to kill you. Simply you and the creature coexisting in the same world without a bunch of contact at first. Like its more of a natural entity.
Yeah I think this mod is a nice change of pace when all other dweller mods are super similar
"Can you guys hear those footsteps?"
No, all I can hear is the music
Lol sorry I didn't realize it was loud during editing
Funny how you can make people scare themselves more by using ambience rather than giving them something to comprehend
2:17 bruh i thought my phone got dead pixel
Sorry:(
the way the graphics and clouds look make the floating structures 10x more cooler and scarier looking
Honestly I like how this mod definitely takes advantage of paranoia. For instance the cave sounds you hear _may_ just be normal cave sounds.
Or the entity knows of your existence and is just messing with you.
I also like the strange structures that look corrupted or broken. Made from strange building materials or just very basic yet strangely eerie.
The mob design also looks very uncanny too. I just hope they add more things to flesh this out.
I'll be interviewing the creator of the mod and posting that soon, if you have any questions about the mod let me know so I can ask him!
Having this mod activate after 10k blocks in a server would be so good
Imagine downloading this in a modpack secretly and labeling it as one of those library mods. That would be so funny.
There was a technical reason for the cave noises!! There is a function in-game called "atmosphere" and when atmosphere is at a certain percentage, cave noises start playing. The mod must have played with the atmosphere to make cave noises play above ground
Yeah probably what happened when I was on top of the structure
I do think it's kinda funny that minecraft horror is "10 hours of ambiance randomly interupted by footsteps and spooky noises"
Actual psychological horror mod and not just dweller #4,275? Awesome
we definitely need more psychological horror mods in minecraft, theres definitely loads of untapped potential with this kinda stuff

@OneLastTimeTeam why was there a glass pane next to the door 😭
What we needed is an entity that acts like a player, however it's all messed up. We finally got something similar!
It tries to create structures and copy players, but they are eerie and lack logic.
It tries to approach the player, but in a very subtle way of stalking, almost never actually interacting directly with the player.
It has an AI that makes it react to being seen, kind of like an enderman, but for escaping instead.
Imagine it as SCP 173, but less aggressive.
It's so shy that it makes you forget of its own presence, thus leaving you with feeling a false sense of security.
In a way, Herobrine, but if it were actually scary.
ty for putting the shaders’ names in the description, been looking for some good ones
Of course :)
He is like: bro im playing creative, what do you want from me
I joined his world lol I'm actually the horror mod
@@OneLastTimeTeam Actually that is a good horror idea tbh.
The entity is a 'player' in his creative world, and when you join and start screwing with his world, he gets more and more mad. (Ex: Destroying structures that are 'made by him', killing too many of certain mob types, mining too much of a type of ore, griefing). Maybe there could even be a way to get on his good side, such as building nice structures for him, and giving him items (hand given or just put into chests in his buildings). Also, since you would be the horror mod, he would show up if you pressed tab, but you wouldn't, and since he is afraid of you off the start, he will run away and hide from you.
If someone made a mod like that I would definitely try it out.
22:25 you can only see the line below your cursor if the weapons is "recharging" (which it isn't in this portion of the video) or when you aim at someone/something (mob, player, etc.), while you're walking through the building you can see that the line below your cursor keeps reappearing, which means that there's at least 4 of some invisible entities in that building and you just went past them
And at the top it showed somthing with hearts I don’t know what but it said somthing with hearts
This is the first video I’ve seen of this guy and it’s amazing, “yo chill tf out I’m just getting coal*calmly continues*” best thing ever compared to the “what was that..?”
I just can't act like I'm scared lol
The real horror mod is the thing on the screen the whole video.
It's a watermark left by the creator of the mod
I've never felt so threatened by post modern architecture
I really like your logic of thinking that "maybe we are actually entering his world, not him entering ours"
I love that the mod places structures in the sky, incentivising the construction of dirt pillars, only to spawn more dirt pillars around.
The placement of dirt pillars near the structure was a nice touch!
The mod itself makes you paranoid to the point you don't belive that you're alone in your singleplayer world and the music you used makes it so much creepier
More of just creepy then scary, but to be honest I’d take it over the big gore-y entities that are 7 times your size either teleporting away or running at you at Mach 3 when you look at them
The concept of a something slowly corrupting your world... the mobs... the terrain.... everything.... is a terrible feeling.... This might not be exactly relevent to the video but this was a mod idea I felt speaking.
Thats very creative, i love the idea cause its different than just an entity watching you without any reasons
eerie minecraft experience > jumpscare simulator
Chickens footsteps are the crakckling noises
Armor stands are entities, so dogs can growl and try attacking them
Thanks for clarifying and I feel so dumb lol
@@OneLastTimeTeam well not really "dumb" minecraft logic is the dumb one lmao
What would be a really good touch for a slow burn monster mod like this is if it does decide to attack at some point, or even appear close to you, *other* hostile mobs suddenly stop what they're doing and RUN. In the middle of a dark cave and see three creepers booking it for the exit? Heh heh, you're in danger
Almost like when an apex predator shows up in a forest and even crickets stop making noises, would be a nice touch
The Demo v1.0 text on the screen was so distracting lol 😂
I thought I was losing my mind
Yeah sorry lol
9:10 the reason theres cave noises are probably that the generation of the stone cubes are probably caves, you can see ores which makes it probably a cave
That could be, I'll ask the creator on that since I'll be interviewing him on the mod soon
There’s a sheep outside the window
The sheep’s outside the window (bro my comment keeps getting deleted by RUclips)
This mod looks really awesome so far! It takes the vibe of Herobrine and From the Fog and expands it, which is something most Minecraft horror mods do not seem to understand the need for. The "big scary monster yeeting toward you at mach 7" has its place, but it gets old, and as others have said in the comments, those over-the-top scary monsters lack that existential fear because you know it clearly isn't from Minecraft; it's something you put there for entertainment. This entity, on the other hand, taps into the fear of every person in singleplayer: that someone or something else is with you in your world. The slow escalation of its behavior is brilliant because you anticipate and fear what the entity will do when you next encounter it. I'm looking forward to this mod's release.
5:34 left side. It disappears before he turns back. Might’ve been it.

Those sky structures are really unique & eerie. Good music and shaders to match. The stopping and pretending something is happening at every noise was annoying. Great to see this crazy amount of creativity & immersion in a mod. It's like a whole nother game.
It'd be cool if you occasionally took half a heart of damage and got panicked
I believe in the new update he attacks you a little bit
12:40 Dog is probably mad because you attacked the armor stand (which is an entity) locking on to it and trying to attack it

Yeah didn't realize it came out so loud, will be more mindful where I place it in the future
I see this kind of mods as an improved version of Herobrine mixed with the proper use of Slenderman as a concept.
For me, both of them are more stalker-like than anything else, messing with their prey until they are driven mad, placing weird things around them to show they are ever present, the sounds hidden by the pitter patter of the rain, they don't do face to face confrontation often because they don't NEED to, its like a mountain lion, if you see them is because they are not actively hunting you and have no reason to hide, is when you least expect it when it happens

This mod creator is absolutely astounding in their ability to improve, both in effective horror and mod quality, the silence was absolutely abysmal, to a degree that it signified the very worst in the dweller mod trend, but this? In just one mod the developer has gone from the worst slop imaginable, to a genuinely innovative and terrifying concept and well coded product. What a remarkable person.
the fear of the unknown is truly the most terrifying thing and this video shows it well
