Usually Homelander scenes are tense. For once episode 4 felt more like he got to be the tension relief and it was neat to see. Seeing him get revenge on people that actually deserved it.
Starr's performance with this character is so fucking on point I don't think I could meet the man in real life without feeling a slight twinge of panic. The man is FANTASTIC at what he does.
I wonder if Barb would succumb to cannibalism (all those body parts leftover from Homelander's rampage) just to survive a few more days trapped in that room. Which makes Homelander sparing and trapping her in the Bad Room all the more horrifically calculated.
But why would she be trapped for days? The entire security system is shut down and loved ones will be looking for the staff members that Homelander killed. If anything, cops should be showing up within hours to do a welfare check.
If Antony Starr doesn’t get an Emmy for this, the Emmy’s need to be canceled. I’m already on board with canceling them because he should have multiple already for Homelander alone.
I love the tense dialogue scenes in the boys so much. You’re never bored cos there’s always a bit of tension unlike the mind numbing episode of the acolyte I just watched 💤
Doesn't even have to be Marvel or DC. Just another fantastic role we've never seen him play before. I'd honestly prefer that over another comic book franchise/supervillain.
Anthony is underappreciated for what he can bring to his roles. If you haven't seen American Gothic, it only lasts one season, but his performance was something to see. Definitely deserves more roles than he gets.
This was an Emmy performance for sure! There was a long time since I was this amazed over an actors performance in a movie or series and I feel like I watch waaaay to much tv and movies He was already really good in the role but episode 4 was top tier
I'm enjoying season 4...terrific pisstake. I do wish they would get the sound levels right. Constantly riding the volume control so I can hear the dialog and not have the speakers blow out by the explosions.
Considering Rhea Seehorn was snubbed for Better Call Saul every season, I would be really really surprised if they gave Starr an Emmy simply because the shoe's material.
Dude, Homelander back in that Vought lab scenes gave me whiplash. I was shocked at the calculated, ruthless torture but I actually said, “Man, no wonder. That’s why he is the way he is.” I had a sinister smile while he was effin them dudes up. I was gasping the entire time. It was scary that he killed off everyone, even the new faces he acknowledged that weren’t even there when he was in the lab. So this was to squash the last of his human side to eliminate any desire for love & approval?*goosebumps* That Tek Knight 🕳️ joke, Paul 😅
I don't think its going to quash his need for love and approval, I think by convincing him he's superior to himans, Sage is narrowing down his pool of people he can get love and approval from; his equals. Which he only sees in Ryan now. Who she managed to turn away from superheroing by ruining his first step into that world, thus taking away the only thing he can bond with him over (no way she didnt know that insulting Ryans costume as being too much like Homelanders would hit him in the ego and cause him to ruin Runs 'save') Im telling y'all, Sage is trying to take down Vought for giving her powers she hates, and she knows the only way to ruin them is by ruining Homelander. She just needs to push him to snap and do something neither side can support, they're suddenly terrified of him, they blame Vought, vote for the antisupe legislation, and Vought crumbles.
One thing I found really cool and I was just kind of curious about American stuff. I looked up fudgy the whale and symbolically that was actually made as a Father’s Day cake.

So, could somebody please just give Anthony Starr a gODdamn friggin' Emmy already!?... somebody get on that please!... and I mean could somebody please get on that shit _FUCKING IMMEDIATELY!!!_
7:17 that “mostly” alone deserves the emmy
That was the sign he was a goner💀🪦
@@o.gparamount3099judging by Marty's face even he knew this
Dont think I'll ever get that end scene with Barbara out of my head...
It was perfect! Down to every last minute details.
Usually Homelander scenes are tense. For once episode 4 felt more like he got to be the tension relief and it was neat to see. Seeing him get revenge on people that actually deserved it.
"Dont let tek knight see that" nahhh 😭😭😭
the most terrifying part is that you are cheering for Homelander at that part, THEY made him.
One of the best actors I've ever seen, great video Paul, :)
excellent video the new season is being great
Thank you
@8:49 man I hope MT is ready to step up
Starr's performance with this character is so fucking on point I don't think I could meet the man in real life without feeling a slight twinge of panic. The man is FANTASTIC at what he does.
I still want to know what those scientists were doing in that lab, since Homelander left years ago...
Just hanging out?
He is even great in the TV show Banshee.
2:30 well that's a dark insight in to your headspace
I wonder if Barb would succumb to cannibalism (all those body parts leftover from Homelander's rampage) just to survive a few more days trapped in that room. Which makes Homelander sparing and trapping her in the Bad Room all the more horrifically calculated.
That was my first thought...First she eats them..Then losing her mind..Then dies of thirst.
But why would she be trapped for days? The entire security system is shut down and loved ones will be looking for the staff members that Homelander killed. If anything, cops should be showing up within hours to do a welfare check.
@@naturistfred Vought will likely cover it up as usual before the police get involved
The way Marty's smile just drops when Homelander says "mostly," he just knows he is in trouble.
I’m still pondering this episode… oh my goodness.
This show is shaping up to be the Anthony Starr show (with respect to all the other cast members who are fantastic also).
About the whole forgiveness theme, you could also maybe say that butcher’s test in that sense is whether or not he’ll be able to forgive himself
Check out the series called Banshee with Anthony Starr where he also displays his acting range. He is definitely deserving of an award.
oh, don't act so surprised; this series has always had great casting
He was fantastic in Banshee. That should have been an Emmy back then!
One of the best episodes for sure.
His performance in this episode was amazing. The first 3 episodes were rocky af imo, but this one was great
If Antony Starr doesn’t get an Emmy for this, the Emmy’s need to be canceled. I’m already on board with canceling them because he should have multiple already for Homelander alone.
I love Starr and he deserves his nominations but he'll be in a tough category. The actors on the show Succession alone are hard to beat.
Starr deserves a Emmy
A monster created by monsters.
What a brilliantly conceived idea by Vought.
I love the tense dialogue scenes in the boys so much. You’re never bored cos there’s always a bit of tension unlike the mind numbing episode of the acolyte I just watched 💤
Homelander in Episode 4 season 4, has been the only good thing so far this season
Great point
If he somehow gets a chance in either any Marvel or DC movies, i am sure he absolutely gonna nail any character he gets...
Doesn't even have to be Marvel or DC. Just another fantastic role we've never seen him play before. I'd honestly prefer that over another comic book franchise/supervillain.
Anthony is amazing he played twins in outrageous fortune the newzealand smash hit
He’s always been perfect as homelander
Also, a small really good detail was Barbara telling homelands to put Marty out of his misery.
Anthony is underappreciated for what he can bring to his roles. If you haven't seen American Gothic, it only lasts one season, but his performance was something to see. Definitely deserves more roles than he gets.
And Banshee too
I can't wait to see him to take over the White House in Season 5!
This was an Emmy performance for sure!
There was a long time since I was this amazed over an actors performance in a movie or series and I feel like I watch waaaay to much tv and movies
He was already really good in the role but episode 4 was top tier
I'm enjoying season 4...terrific pisstake. I do wish they would get the sound levels right. Constantly riding the volume control so I can hear the dialog and not have the speakers blow out by the explosions.
for a sec I was tripping and thought the title said: Why Antony Star Wars
In fact, take the r from Starr and add it to Was and then you’ll get Star Wars lol
Considering Rhea Seehorn was snubbed for Better Call Saul every season, I would be really really surprised if they gave Starr an Emmy simply because the shoe's material.
❤Great breakdown
Dude, Homelander back in that Vought lab scenes gave me whiplash. I was shocked at the calculated, ruthless torture but I actually said, “Man, no wonder. That’s why he is the way he is.” I had a sinister smile while he was effin them dudes up. I was gasping the entire time. It was scary that he killed off everyone, even the new faces he acknowledged that weren’t even there when he was in the lab. So this was to squash the last of his human side to eliminate any desire for love & approval?*goosebumps*
That Tek Knight 🕳️ joke, Paul 😅
Haha thanks Toni 🙌
I don't think its going to quash his need for love and approval, I think by convincing him he's superior to himans, Sage is narrowing down his pool of people he can get love and approval from; his equals. Which he only sees in Ryan now. Who she managed to turn away from superheroing by ruining his first step into that world, thus taking away the only thing he can bond with him over (no way she didnt know that insulting Ryans costume as being too much like Homelanders would hit him in the ego and cause him to ruin Runs 'save')
Im telling y'all, Sage is trying to take down Vought for giving her powers she hates, and she knows the only way to ruin them is by ruining Homelander. She just needs to push him to snap and do something neither side can support, they're suddenly terrified of him, they blame Vought, vote for the antisupe legislation, and Vought crumbles.
@@bloodyneptune I love your reply! Sage is a dope curveball
Thanks!
thanks so much mate
Seriously the whole episode my heart was in my mouth
*If you ever watched Banshee, you already knew how crazy Stark can be*
One thing I found really cool and I was just kind of curious about American stuff. I looked up fudgy the whale and symbolically that was actually made as a Father’s Day cake.
