Wow that looks like a ton of fun - a couple of grown up kids! Reminds me of when I was a lad and my cousins brought over a gas powered mini-bike. We had an absolute blast on it!
Cool little find. I have the mini bike disease as well.5 of em in my garage right now, and I just picked one up for a project to build a mini chopper. with a 10 HP Tecumseh 12 volt electric start . Thanks for the video's Taryl. Gonna order some pilsner glasses this week!
Tayrl, this is too cool!!.I like this one alot!!. I would route all the wiring inside the frame and put L.E.D.turn signals on it to go along with the L.E.D.headlight and breaklight.
I don't even mow my own lawn lol.. I live alone and my yard is pretty big so I hire ppl to do all the stuff my future boyfriend/husband is gonna do. As hooked as I am to this channel tho I'm thinking I'll be able to do all this stuff myself one day! Thank you for sharing your brain with us! You're an awesome man.. Funny AF, smart smart smart, easy going guy. Obviously a very hard worker! Where have you been all my life?!? Idk where you're located but I wish you were local to me. Can't wait to see what's next lol. LOVE THIS CHANNEL!!!
Lmao if I saw this guy on this bike driving down the road I would probably crash from laughing so hard! I'm cryin rn hahaha. Omg the lingo is hilarious! Your wife/family are probably laughing 24/7! I love your sense of humor. Ppl tell me all the time that it's difficult to make me lol..now I can tell them to watch this channel... and THIS makes me LOL like a lunatic 😂. Totally, completely, 100% perfect!! 👍🏼TY!!
I really like your "recycling" videos (electric mini bike, cushman-like tricycle...) because I wouldn't have a clue about what parts are needed to make something like that work (e.g. Motorcycle stoplight switch, tiny clevis...). So it is educational. Keep it up.
Omg lmfao! I know nothing about engines or mowers in general but I'm seriously obsessed with this channel now! I watched one about checkin a "carbetrator" and then about jerkin off a mower deck to fix the belt from poppin off BAHAHA.. I'm learning so much! This guy is fckin awesome!! Pretty sexy too 😉! Needless to say I'm a new subber! LOVE THIS STUFF! Idk why this haven't blown up to millions of subscribers yet but IT WILL! This shit is AWESOME!
TIP. Before you cut a cable solder where you are going to cut it. The solder will keep the cable from fraying out, and make the cable a little more stiff so it cuts easier. After you cut it solder it again and you wont have to add a cable end. It's cheap and works great!
That is really cool Taryl! I see you have a classic Honda 70 for sale, I sure would like to get my hands on that! I used to have one back in the mid 1970's.
FUN FIND ! SURE LOOKS LIKE THE TRIED AND TRUE FORD STARTER ANS SOLENOID OF DECADES AGO ! FACTORY OR NOT LOOKS LIKE IT SHOULD BECOME STANDARD MINI BIKE EQUIPMENT IN THIS DAY AND AGE ! OUTSTANDING VIDEO YOU GUYS ROCK !
The mini bikes actually looks like a Lil Indian minibike (a very similar, if not identical, frame) that may have been converted to electric at some point.
The electric mini bike is from the early '70s, my dad sold them on the side. I still have parts and pieces of one which is the same as the one you have. Your handle bars are the original ones. The seat isn't. There was a switch on the top of the frame which your seat now covers mounting place, which you would pull up for power to be on and a twist throttle which activated the switch under the seat for power to the motor. The motor is the original except it didn't have the centrifugal clutch. I can't remember the companies name.
Motor looks like it came from an exercise treadmill. I had one motor laying around in the garage for years and just trashed a second unit for scrap and took a similar motor out. Both went to the scrap yard. Glad it is gone or I would be searching for a mini bike frame for a similar build. Looks fun to ride.
I met a friend of my uncles a few months ago. He really liked my minibikes. He said it reminded him of his electric minibike his dad bought for him in the late 1960s. I think he said he got it from a hardware store. I need to show him this! He lives far away though.
My name is Mark Ayers taryl keep the videos comen and it don't matter what people say. I love your videos. I live in Nineveh Indiana I would love to meet you some day.
Suggestion; Adding a Volt meter to check power on the battery(s) Turn the existing battery 90 degrees an add another in series. potentiometer for the throttle.
I believe the originals used 2 6V deep cycle batteries in series, and it had some sort of plastic box covering them. Id like to know the watts on that motor, care to throw a meter on that and see what draw it pulls? I have a 500W out of a electric lawnmower I want to repurpose.
I knew a guy that had a bike like this, it didn't have the centrifugal clutch. He would just give it a little push to get it going then hit the switch, it would Spin the tire and take off, with it connected directly to the starter motor it was Scary fast.
Neat little bike. Maybe it’s one of those mini bike kits, that someone with some good fabrication skills built as electric from the start. Another vote for using Lithium batteries. If you could get a couple of those lithium jump packs, and wire them in parallel, I would think that should work pretty well. They’d be lighter than a lead acid, and would already have onboard circuitry to be sure they were charged/discharged safely.
I built one of those about 10 years ago, rode it all summer through the neighborhood. People thought it was the coolest thing. I got busted by the cops on Labor Day weekend. I haven't ridden it since.
I have a quick question I have a Husky Varner lawnmower I can’t get gas to the spark plug The carburetor look like it is pretty clean do I need to clean it again it’s got good compression it’s gravity fed I don’t have a feel pump please help
Hey Daren, you know anything about old Steen's mini bike stuff? I'm trying to put a value on a Steen's timing degree wheel, but can't find one for sale, or even a photo of one anywhere.
I have a 16.5 hp kohler command the engine was off a craftsman that has sat in a field for 5 or more years. i got it then put it on my mower i replaced the ignition coil because a mouse chewed threw the wire and it started right up but it will surge a little bit, but once it gets warm it will surge a lot more but not alot when its at full throttle, it is worse at idle. does the carb need to be cleaned because i took the bowl off and dumped the old gas and the DIRT out of it before i started it??
I built 2 electric bicycles from a kit. Get some LiPoly batteries. Super light weight and they pack more amp-hours. Warning- don't discharge them too much or they burst into flame when you charge them 😁

Clevis has left the building!!! Cool little bike. Would be nice to find some history on it.

The mini bikes actually looks like a Lil Indian minibike (a very similar, if not identical, frame) that may have been converted to electric at some point.
I think it's a Baja Doodlebug converted over to electric. I have one of those with a 6.5 HP gas engine on it. Scary fast and powerful.
I gonna start looking for one of those ,thanks Taryl!
Too cool! I need one of these!
You can really be thankful that Slippers made you this present 🎁 He is not that bad boy you always say. A bit slippery, but who cares 😂😂😘😘👍👍
Still enjoy your videos. Thanks for making my day.

Finally someone who shows and tells you how and what to do when they’re making something bad ass ! You’re doing the lord’s work!
Taryl is a small engine genius
You guys are the best, so too.
Awesome set up. Like the bike !
Well, I've been to a rodeo, two picnics and a county fair and I ain't never seeeen anything like that..! Now I gotta have one of them! Yee Ha...
that thing went faster than I was expecting. 👍
Just a though the kill switch could be ground for control side of a 4 post sylinoid.😉
I hooked on your shows
Nice mini bike.

Another awesome video. Keep up the great work
Wonder what the range would be with a good deep cycle battery?
I just just purchased one very similar. I was told by the previous owner that these were designed for indoor use for the circus. Thanks
nice find nice rebuild there nice
very cool
Poor slippers..... Can only watch... Oh wait you let him ride it, your awesome man.
Great shape
That is a neat mimi bike
Cool electric minibike, I have never seen an electric minibike.

Great job!

Do you have video showing the setup of the truck that has a mesh tailgate? I am assuming it is for picking lawnmowers up.?
Really moves out
Nice!
Coooool ! Subscribed!!
Suggestion; Adding a Volt meter to check power on the battery(s) Turn the existing battery 90 degrees an add another in series. potentiometer for the throttle.
24 volts may mess up the motor if its only rated for 12v, no?
Oh yeah your right.
I was thinking two lawn tractor batteries, but wire them in parallel (double the capacity but still 12 volts)
Deep cycle would be the best option there designed to discharge as opposed to a car battery which isnt
bruce lonsinger parallel instead of series, BAM 12 volts with extra cells for extended life.
great video
Taryl going green!
Dude sweet mini, very efficient, and looks really fun to cruz on!!! Big👍!!! Now how much ya u want???!!! Lol
Looks like a 12v starter motor off a tractor. Very cool mini-bike!
Love it!
Taryl hit that throttle boy!
Coooool
I really like the Slippers character in the videos. I lose it everytime I watch Jr drop the mini bike frame on Slippers slippers!
I believe the originals used 2 6V deep cycle batteries in series, and it had some sort of plastic box covering them. Id like to know the watts on that motor, care to throw a meter on that and see what draw it pulls? I have a 500W out of a electric lawnmower I want to repurpose.
maybe its a rare prototype that never made production.love your videos
Any specs on that motor, a tag anywhere which states the voltage and rpm?
Thanks 👍

YES THANK YOUU!
I remember seeing someone riding an electric battery power mini bike like this way back around 1970
I like how you just take it from slippers lol
well that one is C.A.R.B approved!
💓 💗 💖 💘 💝 - *Slippers* - 💓 💗 💖 💘 💝
That thing is sweet wooooooohooooo. Now just get a 48volt lithium battery and a brushless motor and controller and your all set
jay7264 That would be my approach.

sweet machine...needs a coffee cup holder, very important!!! :)
hook 24v to that sucker,,
12v switch , 12v brake light switch , 12v starter motor sounds good to me lol
Hey Daren, you know anything about old Steen's mini bike stuff? I'm trying to put a value on a Steen's timing degree wheel, but can't find one for sale, or even a photo of one anywhere.

Never mind i cleaned the carb really good and it did nothing its probably just the cheap ebay made in china coil
I built 2 electric bicycles from a kit. Get some LiPoly batteries. Super light weight and they pack more amp-hours. Warning- don't discharge them too much or they burst into flame when you charge them 😁
looks like a modified apc mini chopper i can tell from the fender and a spot for a headlight
Dinner waz guud! Now ya need a solar charger.
