If you’re new to my channel, my name is Alex Hormozi. I’m the founder and managing partner of Acquisition.com. It’s a family office, which is just a formal way of saying we invest our own money into companies. Our 10 portfolio companies bring in over $200,000,000+ per year. Our ownership stake varies between 20% and 100% of them. Given this is a YT channel, and anyone can claim anything, I’ll give you some stuff you can google to verify below.
How I got here…
21: Graduated Vanderbilt in 3 years Magna Cum Laude, and took a fancy consulting job.
23 yrs old: Left my fancy consulting job to start a business (a gym).
24 yrs old: Opened 5 gym locations.
26 yrs old: Closed down 6th gym. Lost everything.
26 yrs old: Got back to launching gyms (launched 33). Then, lost everything for a 2nd time.
26 yrs old: In desperation, started licensing model as a hail mary. It worked.
27 yrs old: "Gym Launch" does $3M profit the next 6 months. Then $17M profit next 12 months.
28 yrs old: Started Prestige Labs. $20M the first year.
29 yrs old: Launched ALAN, a software company for agencies to work leads for customers. Scaled to $1.7mmo within 6 months.
31 yrs old: Sold 75% of UseAlan to a strategic buyer in an all stock deal.
31 yrs old: Sold 66% of Gym Launch & Prestige Labs at $46.2M valuation in all-cash deal to American Pacific Group. (you can google it)
31 yrs old: Started our family office Acquisition.com. We invest and scale companies using the $42M in distributions we had taken + the cash from the $46.2M exit.
32 yrs old: Started making free content showing how we grow companies to make real business education accessible to everyone (and) to attract business owners to invest or scale their businesses.
34 yrs old: I became co-owner of Skool.com to help the many people who want to start a business online do so.
Today: Our portfolio now does $200M/yr between 10 companies. The largest doing $100M/yr the smallest doing $5M per year. Our ownership varies between 20% and 100% ownership of the companies. Many of them we invested in early and helped grow (which is how we make our money - not youtube videos).
To all the gladiators in the arena, we’re all in the middle of writing our own stories. The worse the monsters, the more epic the story.
You either get an epic outcome or an epic story. Both mean you win.
Keep crushing. May your desires be greater than your obstacles.
Never quit,
Alex

hey man, why don't you use bionic reading for your book.
If you truly believe in owning 20%of a billion dollar company is better than owning 100% of a 100 million dollar company, the it's time for you to put your company on the stock market and let us buy some shares. I'm just saying, put your money where your mouth is.... Also I'm ready to buy shares 😎💯

As the new Chuck Norris, He'll have it done in one day. 😂
But really good and useful information...
Okay, now what about illegally?

SEAN!! WASUP MATE HOW YA DOING 😁
My favourite example of deep-seated vertical integration is Henry Ford owning sheep farms for their wool seat covers. That one always stuck with me for some reason!
Holy smokes. Alex is coming in with the bangers!!!
Alex, you have some of the most insightful content on RUclips.. Keep it coming. Thank you. That is all.
The way these videos get me into a creative flow has become addicting. Would love individual videos that really breakdown some of these strategies.

I read it. It’s about a young boy who gets brutally molested by his dad’s best friend. DO NOT READ!!

Just watch this muted. You will be astonished at how much you learn from his hand signals alone. My mind is truly blown.

This content, let alone how it’s delivered, is unlike any other 💯💯💯
in a different video, you were discussing with Leila what the purpose of this “whole thing” was and I feel like you have found it.
“private enterprise is the only way to save the world…and build businesses that last so capitalism has a fucking chance” -Alex Hormozi
NEW PURPOSE: UNLOCKED
happy for you man!
24:07 Love the little explanations given 😊
Just a small correction.
On the last talk Thiel gave at Aspen, he basically said that investing in space x was sort of risk free, since the company would have been cash flow positive because all of their gov projects would have been fully prepaid. He even said Musk did not need any money at that time, there was only a problem regarding some gov regulation which demanded a certain working capital from the bidders.
Small story short, Space X was not this huge capital spending upfront, quite the contrary.
This guy is brilliant! I clicked the comment section and the video started 😂 10/10
THIS content ALONE is at LEAST one book 👏👏👏
This is the Hormozi version of 7 powers in business lol. Good stuff for sure
I hit like before the first word of the video… I know it’s going to be worth my time
You have millions of dollars so you can vertically scale. 99% of us don't have the cash to buy up every company that would make our products. Its easy to do theses things and get richer once you already have millions to throw at it.
Then just dont?
Point 12 is absolute genius
14:05 Book publishers got their balls on their throat rn knowing that Mr Hormozi could destroy them if he wanted
Got here in 1 Minute. Just in time for me to start my Creative Block for the evening. Thanks Alex, LETS GOOO! *Nose to the grindstone*

Based on my experience, one effective and legal way to outperform your competition is to focus relentlessly on providing exceptional value and customer service. This approach not only strengthens your position in the market but also builds a reputation that is difficult for competitors to replicate.
Good video Alex j definitely took notes 📓 I appreciate the gems sir 😎💪
Thank you so much for your help Alex.
Waouh really love your content... Your the best... Please I have a suggestion, can please create a video on how you will start from 0 show your process on how you will acquire customers, how you will create your offer, funnels, how you will outreach please... Always coming through with motivating and insightful content, Alex!
Alex every one of your videos are better than the last one. Keep it up. Love from Indians
One of the best videos on youtube
Thanks for this great info.
Hands down my favorite video ever. It’s like you did a 1 on 1 with me and gave me the roadmap.
tbh I loved the point about M&A. Really insightful.
Only thing I'm qualified to object to is his claim that govt IP protection is good. Consume any content of Stephan Kinsella for the exhaustive arguments against IP, against asking for govt to enforce a monopoly of ideas.
Amazing 💯 you are the best 💪🏽
Is there a difference between chasing shiny objects and skill stacking?
I'm in a spot where I can learn new skills that are adjacent to my core offering.
I think I know the answer but I'm curious if there is a frame to use in discerning skill stacking and going after the wrong "lady in the red dress".
Thx for the tips...we're taking over in our space rn.
Fun fact: monopoly was developed as an interactive experience to showcase what happens at the end of free trade - everyone ends up at zero with one party collecting everything. It's not even a game, technically, because it's all random. Monopoly is the Mathew principle visualized and it's very important to in psychology and sociology.
Dealing with infinities. Literally just thinking about now, If you can extend your time horizon far enough, then literally anything is possible. If you compress far enough, then almost everything looks impossible. What is your process for determining how much insurance to purchase for risk?
Purchase defined by: utilizing any of your limited resources, time, attention, currency, etc. Insurance being: any mechanism by which to reduce risk.
This video had so many great points ! Thanks Alex
One of his best videos. Curious to see how it gets recieved
41:36 He is right: Monopoly comes from the Greek prefix mono-, which means "one," and pōlein, "to sell."
I thought poly means: Poly- comes from Greek polýs, meaning “many.”
Which could mean one selling to many.
Time stamps…
knowledge packed
thank you for making this video Alex
Band Aid - Adhesive Bandage
when you guys use dark background it's easier to focus
I wish I was that smart 😅
Airlines do what?!?!?
Alex must have read “Zero to one” by Peter Thiel
I feel like the background should be red 🥊🥊🥊🥊
Could you make more indept video regarding 12 - Need To Haves 35:15?
18:18 How much money you got? A lot.
Where does he learn all this information?
Please talk about laws of power too❤
Hey Alex we love your analysis!! Are you currently open for partnership?
Thanks Sir

Read The 7 powers. It outlines this in depth.
I preferred the room setting to this set
Great stuff.
Let me tell you: it’s difficult to find red (blood-tinted) ocean strategy video and content such as this.
I’d much rather be sailing in a so-called “blue ocean” where I would be a sole entrant (by innovation or perhaps by differentiation) into a new sphere with no peers.
But, it’s useful to have an offering, skillset and strategic resources to sail through both types of seas.
Absolutely! But that level of innovation is then the challenge right?
Waiting for the illegal edit to drop
Just what I needed
No intro?
I just need to know what Alex eats for breakfast.
which one of these are you looking using for skool?
they actually went and bought brand new monopoly just to have it as a prop in the video lol
makes sense for them to do it, i just find it funny
hey man, why don't you use bionic reading for your books.
Thank you

Do you guys like his videos with one angle or multiple changing angles?
SEVEN GODDAMN YEARS?
Sir, you are making money from an online business (content creation), so why don't you create a series about how to make money from an online business? I mean, a serious online business, not some side hustle. The online business must have the potential to make 8-9 figures in the long term (5-10 years).
it's funny how all these gurus are not mentioning the ebook 'money borlest'

Wait... why doesn't the Monopoly guy on that box have a monocle?

You can't skip stuff in this video because you don't know where the next segment starts. Wonder what the thinking behind that was.
