If you’re new to my channel, my name is Alex Hormozi. I’m the founder and managing partner of Acquisition.com. It’s a family office, which is just a formal way of saying we invest our own money into companies. Our 10 portfolio companies bring in over $200,000,000+ per year. Our ownership stake varies between 20% and 100% of them. Given this is a YT channel, and anyone can claim anything, I’ll give you some stuff you can google to verify below.
    How I got here…
21: Graduated Vanderbilt in 3 years Magna Cum Laude, and took a fancy consulting job.
23 yrs old: Left my fancy consulting job to start a business (a gym).
24 yrs old: Opened 5 gym locations.
26 yrs old: Closed down 6th gym. Lost everything.
26 yrs old: Got back to launching gyms (launched 33). Then, lost everything for a 2nd time.
26 yrs old: In desperation, started licensing model as a hail mary. It worked.
27 yrs old: "Gym Launch" does $3M profit the next 6 months. Then $17M profit next 12 months.
28 yrs old: Started Prestige Labs. $20M the first year.
29 yrs old: Launched ALAN, a software company for agencies to work leads for customers. Scaled to $1.7mmo within 6 months.
31 yrs old: Sold 75% of UseAlan to a strategic buyer in an all stock deal.
31 yrs old: Sold 66% of Gym Launch & Prestige Labs at $46.2M valuation in all-cash deal to American Pacific Group. (you can google it)
31 yrs old: Started our family office Acquisition.com. We invest and scale companies using the $42M in distributions we had taken + the cash from the $46.2M exit.
32 yrs old: Started making free content showing how we grow companies to make real business education accessible to everyone (and) to attract business owners to invest or scale their businesses.
34 yrs old: I became co-owner of Skool.com to help the many people who want to start a business online do so.
Today: Our portfolio now does $200M/yr between 10 companies. The largest doing $100M/yr the smallest doing $5M per year. Our ownership varies between 20% and 100% ownership of the companies. Many of them we invested in early and helped grow (which is how we make our money - not youtube videos).
To all the gladiators in the arena, we’re all in the middle of writing our own stories. The worse the monsters, the more epic the story.
You either get an epic outcome or an epic story. Both mean you win.
Keep crushing. May your desires be greater than your obstacles.
    Never quit,
    Alex
    FULL DISCLOSURE
I make content to make money - just - on a longer time horizon than most. I want to build trust with business owners so we can find the best ones and help them scale. And if they’re awesome, write them a check and go all the way as partners.

I love this point about 'finding your passion' - it is the equivalent of being in the middle of the ocean and telling someone to find land. The only viable option is to swim. Action leads to discovery instead of waiting for some lightbulb moment. I discussed this concept further in one of my recent videos and I think so many people struggle with this.

After Leila shared her day routine. I noticed that I don't use time like she does. I know that There are different energy levels of times of the day and so different times have different value. She said that she does work from 3 or 4 am as she wakes up and watchs RUclips at 20:00, when she gets tiered. So i took from it the idea. Before that on few occasions i had that I woke up at about 4:00 a.m and I did then my best effective work. But usually when I woke up too early i used to go I back to sleep. So Recently I decided to use it and if i wake up at about 3 or 4 a.m as I wake up naturaly and do the most important thing, And not watching RUclips at morning. Rather do it at evening. It works for me. It is better time allocation.

Morning routines can be a powerful tool for achieving your goals if they are built correctly. However, if you spend three hours grounding yourself, writing in your gratitude journal, and listing your to-dos without realizing that something is wrong, then you’re the problem, not the concept of a morning routine.

I have one comment... I didn't buy your first book, then your second book. One of your affiliates sent me your launch link (I'd never heard about you). I then bought your 2nd book, had to cancel the order due to taking our own steps toward owning the life we want (we're grandparents now), and then bought both books through Amazon because they could deliver them the next day.
I lugged those "damn" books with me for 6 months and gawd-knows how many miles before I sent them "home," along with half my clothes and a shit load of other things that I really didn't want to lug across the world with me.
We're in Chile ATM, leaving for Patagonia on Wednesday, and I will still watch your videos, so please keep them coming.
I'm 99% of the way to finishing my book - stuck on the damn citations, which bore me to tears - but interestingly, we share many of the same ideas for non-conformity, business and marketing.
When I get back to Canada after a few more stops to live life on our terms, I'll dive into them (by then, my book better be on Amazon!)

8:23 This! This is exactly when I got hired in an electronics business, I was learning ins and out of that business, learning how to sell and so on. At the end of the day, the owner wanted to pay me for my time as my first day, I refused for today. I told to myself, “If I accept the payment, my mind will automatically turn into earning mode rather than learning mode”. I’m glad I made that decision!

    1. Create a good product that will sell
    2. Don’t put labels on yourself to avoid limitations
    3. Put in the work.

    5. Be in a good environment.

best thing to take away from this: put in the work above everything. wake up and put in the work. When you can get yourself to do work in leu of anything else, you won't have time to put labels on yourself, nor the time to listen to others opinions about you. You will eventually have a skillset to create a magnificent product, and you will be good enough to find and attract a group of people who will help further your growth and provide you with the right environment.

Been watching Alex for a while, read both the books, have told all of my friends to also read them - so I agree that there’s power in compounding. But Alex does not mention that his stuff is growing so fast because he has been making more and more content and reaching more people. When you've overcome the hardest challenge of the day in the morning (whether it is a workout, studying, a building a project, etc.), you've now gained confidence. You're far more powerful because of the triumph that comes with overcoming the greatest challenge early on in the day.
Everything afterwards feels far less challenging. When I wake in the morning, I go on my run. Why? Because I know about the "law of diminishing intent"...when I have an idea I take action right then and there, when the emotion is intense and the motivation is strong.
Do it NOW! Stop thinking about it! Organize your tasks from hardest to easiest, and take down the hardest ones first! The momentum and confidence you gain after it's all over are insurmountable.

The example with the book is really interesting... He says it's the quality of the product that made it sell, but I think the quality had more to do with it continuing to do well. Digging into it a little more, 1) Alex created a BRAND- himself 2) Made a single post about it (Marketing) - These two branches initiated the sales in a massive way. And then good product and brand worked together to continue to make his book a best seller! Really interesting concept of using the product as a brand strengthener and people who enjoy it and your brand as marketing. Stacking functions. Congrats Alex, thanks for sharing your thoughts and ideas with us.

Morning routine is originally a military thing. Get up, make your bed, brush and shave, exercise, shower, breakfast, get dressed for work. Then work. Purpose is to get done with all mundane shit so that the next 14+ hours can be spent working. WORKING. It also has the added effect (which most don’t exploit when they’re younger) of making it a lot easier to stay sober by going to bed early. Again, so you can spend that time WORKING rather than being hung over.

So I found $100M Offers on Amazon. It was recommended based on my reading history. I'd never heard of it before then. I bought it, didn't touch it for a wile. Bought it based on a whim because of the title. Only later, when I actually fired up my Kindle did I realize it was by that guy from RUclips who looked like Wolverine with nose strips 😃
I'd been following Alex's channel for a few weeks prior. Just had never seen vids yet talking about the book. Talk about happy "accidents"

It definitely depends on what your goal is. That morning routine may be beneficial if your goal is to make money then work. If your goal is to take care of yourself physically, emotionally and spiritually then you're routine needs to be reflective of that. If you want to make money AND take care of yourself, well then,... you'll need to do work on both routines, won't you?

This man is like what a lot real people been looking for. A man talking about facts, no dumb "secrets" routines, hacks or weird stuff to get rich. More than that is not only about money. The way he make these concepts clear are a big benefit for anyone's life in different aspects.

How do you know if,when you entered race, you got on the wrong horse?
Eg buying a long-term existing business only to find out that you may have already reached saturation point for your main product and government has passed legislation potentially not viable in 5 to 7 years.

at times i’ve been stuck in thought pondering about my limitless potential, more then acting towards that very fact. within the awarity of choice and each decisions depth, after a certain point along your journey you begin operating in a sense of consciously and unconsciously choosing improvement, growth, discipline, etc. jailing yourself in thought will never amount to the active choice of taking action.
all other reasoning becomes disguised by excuse.

Get a good night's sleep at 10pm latest and u wake up refreshed and charged work like mad in the morning. Goin to bed after and u wake up tired. I used to always sleep at 12-2am and I didn't get work done or have energy. Now I don't need any caffeine. I know Alex and Leah always go to bed early too. Just saying a good sleep helps focused.
The cold water can be a long shower with normal to a bit on the cold side that will not be put until sleep.
In Asia I didn't have water to put to to sleep in the shower lol. But the cold water shower in the mornings definitely took getting used to in the mornings before getting ready for school and I can say that it woke u up but always had your brain thinking so many things to start your day. So I think it's just no different that your mom saying she'll throw a bucket of water in you, in bed if u don't wake up!😂
When u look at it in this way. It's just stop being lazy. And be optimal. But 3 hrs was nuts! Go to bed by 9 maybe, and wake up at 5-7 then have a shower and get dressed for the day and sit at your desk.
The earthing thing I understand. Walking barefoot to release all that's radiation/electric charge from our bodies definitely have more clarity and less aches and pains. But u can just go walk outside on your lawn in summer and have your cup of tea and think about your plan of action. But sadly in winter it's a no way 😂. So if u are building your own house, maybe have an indoor out door garden that has a roof but earth so can walk on. Lol again common in some Asian homes. But if not maybe not the winter. But still do u need to walk a lot no. Just let electrical charge flow from u into the rath and earth u. So. What a minute or few?
I don't know why they make ppl do these things in some glorified way to make money and views and hype about ice bathes.. I mean must be for those who dont shower.
I really think the Japanese houses and ppl back in the day had it right. Wake up, and go out to the garden to get some food. Lol
U had your cold shower, and earthed feet and early sleep and now work hard.
