  • little bit different video today and a short one at that. found this cool gas can at a swap meet last year and wanted to use it so I cleaned it up and blued it. never seen can quite like it before not sure if it had a different use original or not but I'm using it for gas.

    Nice job on the vintage fuel can.
    Back in the day these were used for any number of fuels. Kerosene, lamp oil, distillate, gas for the Maytag and small engines on the farm.

    I've used liquid gun blue years ago for touch-up on trigger guards and found it to have a odd odor -- are the new products less smelly ?

      I don't know if it's less smelly but it doesn't seem to bad to me. And it can make a wide range of colors depending on the metal and condition of it.

    what about the inside ?

      I forgot to film it but the inside was pretty clean and when I sabd blasted it I blasted the inside for awhile to make sure.
