  • I bought this old gas can at an auction. It worked, but had a lot of interior rust. I cleaned it up and now it looks great!

Nice one! Looks great. The difference between you and I is if it was me doing the refurbishing it would never work again🥴

Great restoration! I do not have expertise or patience to do this. Enjoyed video and end result.

    Although I'm a scrap woman, I do love a re-furb, that was a great restoration👍

now every time you use it all you will be thinking about is how much work you put into refurbing it and worry about using it carefully so as not to damage the paint on a gas can.

Nice job, but with that much time invested I don’t think I’d ever use it again as a gas can.. it’s just too pretty.
One safety note about working on larger tanks that have held gas/fuel. One of the first auctions I ever helped set up was for the estate of a young blacksmith who died in the explosion, when he caused a spark working on a larger tank that had not been properly purged of flammable/explosive gas before he started. Yours was small and not likely used in some time, but it doesn’t take much residual fuel/gas to make a tank a safety risk.
