As a teenager back in the late-2000s, I adored this man's first three films: Cabin Fever, Hostel and Hostel Part II. I'd scour over every featurette and listened to every commentary track dozens of times.
Eli Roth is one of my favorite horror movie directors of all time, and he is also one of the best students of 21st century horror alongside Mike Flanagan, James Wan, Julia Ducournau and Jordan Peele. "Cabin Fever", "Hostel" and "Hostel: Part II" are the top 3 movies that Roth wrote and directed. Period.👍🏻
Making Kathleen a turkey at the end is DISTURBINGLY ENJOYABLE. My favorite kill in Thanksgiving. The way the killer is preparing her like an actual Holiday meal was a nice touch. This flick CARVED UP a 9/10. It's a good time!!!!
Saw the grindhouse trailer, so I was expecting a B class 70"s movie. I was wrong, modern with beautiful cinematography. One minor adjustment was the trampoline scene, wish it happened like the grindhouse trailer. It was so much fun, I loved it.
Yeah Eli I'm on of the like 11 year olds you scarred with that leg 🦵 in Cabin Fever. I will never forget it and at the time it messed me up. Now looking back it's a great memory.
"Horror movies is a healthy way of expressing it," no, they're not. These movies are meant to be mean-spirited and grotesque; traumatizing even, especially for kids, and they create toxic people. This movie in particular is an assault (by a jew) on middle White and Gentile America. Normal middle class white people are depicted as obnoxious, and then tortured for amusement-- meanwhile real torture is going on, and its as if these movies are encouraging it (because they are). A middle aged white women being cooked alive has no value to it, besides that it looks like someone's mom, wife or sister and wer'e supposed to be okay with these scenes.
Isn’t he the same guy that thinks his protagonists (the characters we the audience are supposed to like) is supposed to be extremely homophobic? Hostel was a brutal experience, not cause of the torture stuff but because the main characters/protagonists were all insufferable homophobes that I couldn’t root for- for 1 second

This is the moment Eli Roth became Lalo Salamanca.
Eyyy it's not so bad man. You'll do better next time!
*smiles Mexicanly*
*does some sociopathic shit*
Micheal? Is that you?
Roth answered all questions perfectly! Legend

Eli Roth looks just like the music studio exec that was in “the idol” it’s crazy 😂
I love Eli Roth. I love watching his movies. I sometimes feel as if he could read my mind. He shows me what I love to see.
03:12 "cause shipping body parts in Peru, is kind of a problem" Obstacles Eli has had to deal with
Honestly, this was my favorite Roth film.
I'm heading to see this when it comes out, really looking forward to it.
Sell that movie Eli, hell yeah!
I personally think that horror helped me escape a traumatic home life. My dad was an alcoholic and in horror it's very escape to escape into that.
I wont miss this in theaters

living legend for horrors
Awesome interview!
This movie was awesome. Eli Roth makes such good horror movies because he understands the audience.
He explained seeing a horror movie experience so perfectly
The end of Cabin Fever was, admittedly, hilarious.

Just saw it a couple of hours ago. Not great but has it's moments.
