An absolute masterpiece. I can’t listen to this without crying.
Facts
Collective Soul is incredible I hope you check out more of their catalog
DITTO
Majorly underrated since the day they started. Even there new music, all Albums bought! 💙
Probably has a stressful job and plenty of money, but no happiness. Ignoring homeless people and obviously depressed. He found happiness in sharing. I love this and your input!!!
He was crying because of people dying of starvation all over the world. That is what he was reading in the newspaper and people starving around him.
Stock broker seeing a market crash.
The guy only saw the negative in the world, and so much of it, it nearly took his life, but all it took was seeing a little beauty that the world still had to offer and it gave him hope again. So powerful.
Wassup Van
Collective soul - Shine
Banger
Luke 3:22 "and the Holy Spirit descended on him in bodily form like a dove. And a voice came from heaven: "You are my Son, whom I love; with you I am well pleased."
Thank you.
Thanks for sharing that
Yes!!! They have so many great songs! December and Shine are awesome👌
Was gonna say the same
Varsity Blues end credits
Don't forget (Run)
No More, No Less is one of my favorites
This song always makes me cry.
I have been there. When the only answer is the end. It hurts so bad!!!!!! All you think about is the pain of life, and you cannot take one more step! It hurts! These days, it hurts even more, the world is so full of hate, and there is no end to it! I just realize that faith in GOD is the answer, and I need to be honest, kind, and humble. Thank you bro for this reaction! Thanks!
The best career advice that I learned is don’t ever attach your-self to a PERSON, a place, a company, an organization or a project. Only Attach your-self to your mission in life and your PURPOSE. That’s how you keep your power and keep your peace!
Sounds like a great path to dying ALONE... Humans are meant to be with another. There's no guarantee of a peaceful life.
He said career advice, not life advice. It makes sense to me.
Its never too late to give to the needy, the intention is in you.
Ed and Dean Roland's father was a Baptist Minister. A lot of their songs are very faith oriented. Please do more Collective Soul.
I went to his church a couple of times as a teenager, and a gathering at the pastor's house once. He and his wife were really kind people, and it was pretty cool to see gold and platinum albums hanging on the wall.
@@tpatt525_Tiff_ That's awesome.
This is one of my favorite songs from the 90's.
I worked for Golden Corral for years...they do a yearly drive for disabled vets....Collective Soul and Gary Sinise are huge partners ..they do a lot of good work
I've loved this band for years. They have been my favorite band right beside Pink Floyd. If you get the emotion of their music you understand these two bands.
Quite a dichotomy of tastes!
So happy to see someone react to this great song.
God's always talking to us, we just need to listen.
Collective Soul has a lot of great songs.
Check out Seven Mary Three too
@@carriemcbratnie8021 YES!!!!!
7M3 is sorely lacking on these reaction channels, across the board.
So happy to see a reaction to Collective Soul; they were my childhood.
One of my favorite bands. Very under the radar. So many great songs to choice from. Thanks for doing this
This band I'll always respect. They help out military families donate as much they can for the families and do much for others.
preach🙌🏽
man this song had (and still does have) such incredible meaning for me in my life. great reaction
GREAT COMMENTS !! this is one of your best reactions. collective soul has a fantastic library. enjoy that ride my man. god bless
It doesn't hurt that the lead singer of Collective Soul looks a little like Jesus. This band has always been very Unique. Such a great sound
Jesus was not white
Love the message in this song.
Beautiful message.
Collective Soul has a way of giving you the feels. We love you too Van - you and your whole family ❤️🇨🇦
Love collective soul from Canada to!! Ontario
Great analysis of the song and video. All praise be to God and praise him for our lives and for us being here.
Oh, so glad you found Collective Soul! React to "Run" "Shine" and "December"! Some of their songs, like this one and "Shine" have the influence of their father, a minister. Very spiritual.
Van your right those that don't believe in God have there prerogative, there right but remember, some have best friends that won't let them down, BUT there was a time they were strangers to each other. While allowing everybody there right, we have a mission from the highest power to bring all to God ..I love your show and God bless America
Saw them in concert 2 yrs ago. Small venue. They were amazing. Check out their songs, Heavy and Shine. love the channel
They are amazing live in a small venue, my first concert ever was seeing them in Calgary probably around 2009, just amazing
Same them open for Van Halen in ‘95. They really have a unique sound.
taking care of animals saved my life too. it makes more sense to me than the money I made. I will take on any comments.
This is honestly one of the greatest songs ever created. It's powerful and impactful. It has a feeling of sorrow yet is ultimately uplifting and inspiring, and that's just speaking on the lyrics. The musical talent and artistry is just as powerful and twice as beautiful as the lyrics.
May God Bless you for expressing your faith, in A time when when Believers are often mocked and criticized. This review just may have pulled someone from "Their edge", and given them the strength to face tomorrow...
I honestly needed this today. thank you.
i live with suiced daily the thoughts the message i fight the urge daily but i also fight to live ty van for the vids your family is blessed
Besides grunge music...the 90's had an amazing array of rock/alternative. Collective Soul, Live, Counting Crows, etc. One of the best decades for music (rock/metal, rap, grunge, pop...the list goes on and on!).
Collective Soul - Shine
It's about perspective, amen.
"I was blind, but now I see. My chains are broken."
Divine intervention PREVAILS! Reminder..life is PRECIOUS n all life MATTERS!
My mom bought us them and candlebox to listen to. I'm thankful for that.
Absolutely there are signs. One sign one word one kind gesture can save a life. Such an important message.
Yeah, this one’s needed. 🙏❤️
Awesome Reaction!! Collective Soul used to be one of my favourites. Many great songs! Going to get my album's out. Thank's
Excellent live. I full on cried during this song. I got a set list and got to meet Ed and get a picture. What a great night!!
Oh my goodness! I Love this song so much! Thanks for reacting to it! ♥️💯 Shine is another great one from them! I love you too! 💕😊
I just love when you say .... Hit that thang! lol
hey listen, want a terrific Collective Soul song? Gel.
This whole album was one smash hit after another. I have deep personal memories of this song when it was on the radio all the time. I never saw the video until many years later, but the melody has a very melancholy feel. I was going through a deep and protracted depression and it did not help that this darn song seemed to be playing every time the radio was on. It was pretty, but it just mirrored how I was feeling just too well. When I finally came out of it, it was my favourite song for years. Then I could really appreciate what a beautiful song it was, w/out marinating in the pathos of it. It became like a victory song. It's still played pretty often on Classic Rock stations.
I'm happy u recovered some never do
@@MarlonMuzic Thanks for the kind words. Recovered is a relative term. It's only temporary, but at least there's temporary relief at times.
Another fantastic group and this songs my favorite of theirs
Be a blessing..it's certainly not all about self..even though that's what's preached..we grow..and the reward..just give it a try..you hit this one on the nose my man..God bless you and yours..
I call those “whispers” from my spirit guides. Like slow down and pay attention. Listen.
My all time favorite song! Thanks for reacting to it.
Thanks FINALLY someone doing Collective Soul!!your helping me with treatment... love what you do!
Your comments were amazing. Been listening to this song for 30 years and you nailed it in 3 minutes!!!!
Awesome commentary on this. Really appreciate your insight and kindness.
wow..great song..and amazing reaction/commentary..thanks
This song with the video gets me crying every time.
Neil Peart once said "Someone set a bad example made surrender seem alright the act of warrior who lost the will to fight.Turn around and turn around walk the razor's edge" Song is The Pass. God bless.
Collective Soul is like the idealistic younger brother of post-grunge scene. Makes sense as I believe the lead singer is the son of a preacher.
Ed and Dean Roland members of this band are sons of a Baptist minister. They sang of the world they knew. You had a Great message about GOD stepping in!! In a sense this was Peter when Christ said "Feed my Sheep"
May God Bless Us All! You may have enough today, but you can lose it all at any moment. Always keep that in mine. “Walk a Mile In My Shoes”. Don’t Judge, Karma’s watching.
Great reaction, you are very aware, in touch with God who will show us what’s important, if we open our minds, our eyes and our hearts.💗
Collective Soul is amazing and even better in concert. We saw them over in Bay City Michigan a few years ago. Such a great stage presence..
Great reaction.Love collective soul.So many good songs, not many reactions from anyone out there from collective soul.🥰👍👋
Collective soul CLASSIC SONG FOREVER ON MY PLAY LIST.
Great review my brother and great message. I believe in God as well and believe that we all have a purpose in life. People, including myself in the past have been asking God the wrong question. We often ask him what he can do for us. Until I heard someone say that we need to start asking God what he wants us to do in this life for him. That changed my outlook forever. Bless u brother 🙏
Awesome Interpetation by you....Love your thoughts on this. Thank You
When you see someone on the street begging, yeah they might be hustin'. Then again they just might be lonely and hungry, talk with them they just might be memories for both, friends, life savers.
I found out about my BPD two years ago and ever since my dad died in 95 I've battled this without knowing what was wrong with me.. my family don't like that I listen to this song because of how I always felt. But in a way it snaps me out of being that low, right since it came out I just have listened to this song atleast 400 times.. This song is how I feel every morning that I wake up and somehow keep going.
I love your take on this so much. Thank you. Thank you. I really appreciate your perspective.
Oh, and another great one from them is Why Pt2
Your message about God couldn't have been timed better... I'm a recovering alcoholic just 1 day out of a bad relapse. It's only by the grace of God I'm still alive. I needed to be reminded He's got me and it's going to be okay.
Collective Soul are from my neck of the woods... the ATL! Check out these great songs from them:
Shine
December
Forgiveness
Heavy
Run
She Said
Precious Declaration
Why pt. 2

I wasn't expecting to get teary-eyed, great stuff thank you
Such amazing lyrics, remember first time I heard this.
Yeesss! Finally someone gets to collective soul! Been listening to these guys since the mid 90’s. Was my 1st actual rock band I got into. Started with cassette taps with them, got an actually cd in 99 when album dosage hit lol
Saw them live and they performed this! Gave me complete chills!
Thank you, Brother. These are truly wise words.
this song is still relevant
Phil Collins: Another Day In Paradise.
This song makes me cry every time.
If you've never felt like this before, you'll never understand
Love this song.
So grateful for you for reacting to this one ❤️❤️
CONTENT! Very nice my man. 🔥💪👌👍🤘
Chills.
God singing My Perrogative
love the energy, love what you do. keep brining good messages.
Guitarist 🎸ROSS CHILDRESS 🎸 was the best part part of this Band and they've never been the same without him. I was fortunate to have seen the live 3x in Colorado USA.
He broke free from the matrix in the last minute
Dude I was in the 8th grade at Leo’s lincroft New Jersey when I heard this song for the first time. Blew my mind.
I get little money being retired, but Give so much to people I know are homeless, not the ones on the corner with signs, but the ones sleeping behind dumpsters, mud pudddles, etc
I’ve seen it all this summer
Loved your interpretation and commentary!
U would like all their songs...Heavy is my fav one and yes God is always there
That was a great reaction!
You got the message, the world seem fucked up, but that's not all that is, you can contribute to the world, we are all struggling, but if we contribute we can make it better for all of us.
Very thoughtful video - thanks man
Just stumbled on this. About a year old I guess. Great reaction, Van
