I just found your channel and I am thrilled. I have St. Johns Wart all over my property. It grows wild here in Vermont. I love my St. Johns Wart. Something has killed off most of my Stinging Nettle as well this year. Thank you so much for sharing your wisdom and gift with us.
GREAT video and much Gratitude for this darling and informative video. I have a plant in my garden that I thought was St. John's Wort but the leaves are larger and not opposite one another. Also, my leaves are not perforated. I was so excited to see all these flowers bloom in my garden but now am on a search to identify this plant. Last, but most important, Kiddo is such an intelligent young fellow and such a dear little spirit as your side kick.
Now that its in bloom you have some great options in terms of identification tools! Google Lens is fairly accurate... I note about an 80% accuracy rate so that could be a great place to start if you don't have a book you use for plant identification.
Thanks for the informative video! I'm wondering if this herb might benefit me: I get random nerve pain in random parts of my body without any clearly apparent cause. I DO get some relief if I regularly take Vit B complex liquid along with vitamin C powder. Perhaps a drop or so of St. John's Wort tincture would be helpful?
You are most welcome! My suggestion is to work with a local herbalist to see if this plant is right for you. Due to Health Canada regulations and rules put forth by Meta (who owns this platform) I cannot make individualized recommendations. I need a consultation first. However, I can say that it likely could be a helpful ally. You just want to be sure that it wouldn't interfere with any medications or medical conditions.

We've been lucky (as I'm knocking wood). I was doing research and these beetles were purposely released to control the SJW population. Frustrating for those of us who rely on it for medicine!

Thank you for sharing! I will be planting this next year.
Wonderful! I hope you love it in your gardens as much as I do.

Yes! There are beetles this year. Very annoying.
