It would be an interesting collaboration. There are some obvious stylistic similarities between them.

I can across you channel recently. As a Martial practitioner who stsrted Judo in 1968 as a child and Tomiki Aikido in 1975 and still practicing today. I really enjoy your videos as you confront w the realities of the Martial Arts. At my at 63 i enjoy the practice of kata as I am not going to compete as i used too. We must be doing something right as we have a fairly busy club with student age 6 plus upto 60 plus years . Keep up the great work.

Awesome video. I'm a new viewer, but I already love your channel.
I'm still a noob in martial arts, but I love the process and struggle. Your videos are always very inciteful to me, as they are an accessible way to see the opinion of someone much more well-acquainted with this topic. Thank you for making these; they really help.

Just to bring this full circle, somewhere on the internet right now: "Man, when they pissed me off, I just see red and knockout 12 dudes on a weekly basis! It's totally true, cos' I'm just a different breed of badass! I do Muay Thai, BJJ, Wrestling and Boxing! I dabbled in Sambo and Kudo and Judo and other REAL shit! I've competed in all of 'em at a very high level and even won a some! I'm like the textbook case of MMA! I used to be in the marines and then I worked special security! Before that I was a bouncer. Believe me when I say I have seen some real shit! You wouldn't understand man! AND despite all that, I stayed humble and kept improving myself! I mean like, I can kicked everybody's ass right now, but I don't like to brag and show my stuff! Lots of people like to talk shit when they don't know shit, BUT I don't! I'm so humble! Stay grinding, Sigma mind set, peace out bro!"

You characterized the "gym bro martial artist" or the "MMA bro" very well.

a perfect example of all bark and no bite would be Rokas from Martial Arts Journey

Overall yeah. But Rokas took a big leap from the flower power dojo to training bjj. hes trying to make a living in youtube. At least he's opening up dialog and creating interest. Hes too quick to bash though. Definitely quick bait.

@@digitaldaemon74 I can respect flower power aikido as long as you keep it real. I cannot respect "BJJ HUMBLES YOU BJJ IS A SUPERPOWER BJJ IS THE BEST AND F*** THE REST" propaganda just because some douche like Joe Rogan or Jocko Willink or Insert First Name Gracie said so ...

Pride is the main virtue in the West today.
Humility is the beginning of wisdom. Proverbs 9:10 and Matt 5:8.

The intermediate level is when people need to ask themselves "if they love this thing more than they hate the cost of becoming good at it."

As usual, a cogent and thoughtful piece on a broad and often contentious corner of the internet. Well done.

"Most people don't know what hell they are talking about in the _______ _____ world."
Fill in the blank. This is a maxim appropos of so many things nowadays.
