On our second day RVing through New Zealand we drove from Mt. Cook to Queenstown. Before leaving for Queenstown we drove to New Zealand's only glacial lake, Lake Tasman.
We didn't quite make it to Queenstown, but we stopped about 20 minutes outside of the city at a freedom campsite on Lake Hayes. The freedom camp ground on Lake Hayes was absolutely beautiful!

That is the bluest water I've ever seen. It's almost iridescent, like it was glowing. It reminds me of somewhere that could be in Canada, or Alaska. So beautiful.
As a New Zealander I recognize how easy it is to take for granted where I am. I think since lockdown 2020 we have a greater appreciation of this. Thanks heaps for sharing your perspective. 😊➕🙏

The very start of the vlog showed an absolute beautiful scenery. I would love to be at the beach or lake. That is just amazing and looks like a lot of fun. I have not went camping in years.

If you want to see some actual water that looks like milk you should come to Alberta and go to Jasper to see the Athabasca river. It is literally the colour of milk.

The colour is due to the fine silt powders, known as Glacial flower, that is held in suspension in the water.

the Tasman glacier actually extends all the way to the lake but its covered in rock and gravel so it doesn't look as nice as glaciers normally do

Aren't those glacial lakes amazing??? They're also found in parts of the US and Canada, and are caused by glacial silt in the water. An example in this part of the world would be Lake Louise in Canada's Banff National Park.
Jim Green you bet! That is why thousands of Germans and Dutch tourists rent RVs and camp around BC and Alberta every summer. We see them all the time.
That's what clean water looks like, instead of the muddy water we get here.

In new zealand do they not equip the rv with generator for electric ???

Where is this campsite?
Lake Hayes - just outside of Queenstown - it is a great spot! We were there in January.
